TBH I thin that season was rather good, a few crappy lil parts but half the 1s you put on there were quite interesting story lines, just if they'd played them out more, they could of got a really good story going like lex's brother (Clone) lol but yea i really wanted to see clark gain his flying abilities, i'm pretty sure season 10 will give him it lol
I do agree that the episode when Jimmy somehow got all the skills to be a james bond in 1 day! Was very LAME!!! But over all I still thought season 7 was boss.
I have been trying to figure this out ... in Hero did Sam James III/ Pete Ross swallow the gum @ 2:08 - 2:13? It really looks like he does but I can't be sure
I didn't really like Season 7 however I did like that Kara was filling brought into the picture and was very annoyed that she only was in like 13 episodes before they were like ok this chapter is closed and had she go off and look for Kandor. I really hope they bring her back, I am a huge fan of Kara/Supergirl every since I was a kid
@Ems15196 :) Yea, I read about that a few days ago in one of my random online searches. However, I wish they would keep her around for awhile or make a spin-off series but that probably isn't going to happening seeing is how Laura Vandervoort plays Lisa on the TV series "V"
After tons of compliments on "Smallville" it is such a pleasure to read something critical and objective! Thank you very much for this vid! I agree almost with everything. I liked "Traveler" and "Quest" for their cruelty so I did not mind the guest stars there. Have you done any other critical reviews on "Smallville"? I'd love to read them! Lol!
well im not a superman fan perhaps thats why i like season 7 and season 8 was great to and season 9 rocks!. I dont understand you guys i like every episode of smallville there wasent a bad episode for me.
It was better then Season 8. It starts with the loss of Michael Rosenbaum (Lex). The whole opening made no sense at all. Lex activates a device to control Clark and is crushed by the fortress and on life support and Clark loses all his powers?! Then just gets them back just like that. And a fight that spanned countless comics was a 1 episode fight with Doomsday that lasted 2 minutes? I think Laura is very attractive, but I think they should have gone with a younger supergirl, less violent!
@Jimdlux The Doomsday fight in season 8 is sort of the intro or origin to the Death of Superman comic. If you paid attention you'd know that Clark buries Doomsday under the Earth's crust. And what happened in the comic? Doomsday ESCAPES AND KILLS HIM. So even though it's not completely related to the comic books, Smallville still has the ability to tie their stories to what the fans know. If Season 8 did anything right, it made Superman's inevitable fate more meaningful by introducing Davis.
I agree 100%, but it seems the longer it goes, the further it gets from the comic. This whole "Major" Zod crap is...crap. I think they should bring Doomsday back for the season finale and kill Clark. Then talk the producers to go another season without Clark and begin the Reign of the Supermen. If they talk Welling into renewing his contract, he can come back as the Eradicator or Cyborg. As for Davis, they brought him in to mix the Doomsday plot with Christopher Kent plot. Bad idea I think...
Reason #2 I don't mind the fact that it's campy (lots of superman stories are :) ), but I *did* have a problem with the confusing and incoherent storylines 0.o
the side stories are confusing and pointless, kara's role was kinda stupid and the battle was weord. but the woste was lana leaving. yea i understand that is has to be lois but smallville never should have made us al fall in love with clana. and then bringing her back was like wtf?!?! the fan base needed a clean break and up until the wedding thats exactly wat they got. but to make things worse they brought clana back just when i was starting to fall for clois. wtf? we need another clean break..
i agree with you rimla212. laura is very beautiful, i like her role in the season 7... and this season is ok for me and little disappointed because many great character is gone in the season 8...
I like Smallville, no matter how the seasons go. Take the good with the so called, "sucky" seasons and let the show go on or not. It is just a show and it's a creative show with a lot of good lessons to be learned!!:) Watch it or don't watch it. Things change, deal with it!!:)
The ending is made sense of in season 8 when clark gets the fortress back and Jor-EL explains to him why the fortress was destroyed.. Season 7 last 4 episodes were good really, first few lame middle way through were average but as i just said the last 3-4 episodes were awesome leading up to the confrontation between lex and clark.. Dude your a knob and obviously u dont understand the superman mythology too well then
couldnt agree more!! And i remember hating it when lana got clarks powers because when she done all the action, it was nothing like when clark does it.
what episode was the ending with the cape? cus i cant remember that lol
It's your oppinion so no one can argue that-- but the ONLY thing that I agree with was how they handled Pete Ross. I mean krytonite gum??? If I were Jones I would have demanded a better script.
I guess u r 100% right... All that crap was way too much... i think if in season 8 Clark won't get in relationships with Lois, that season would also sick!
Yes, It was very disappointing... I don't think Kara is ugly, but I do think her acting skills are lacking. I'm always bored with her in the scene. I hope this Season will be better, and I hope they make up that ending scene of season 7 up by having a Lex/Clark battle.
First off I'm crying from laughing so hard. Second, I like the Clana supersex is was freakin bloody funny! Third Sam Jones 111 is awesome! Also I met Laura Vandervorrt and ugly she is not! She did a pretty darn good job too!!! Other than that, I couldn't agree more and it was really well done!!!! Very funny!!!!!!!!!
Totally agree with you, I hated all the Lana Drama (like Lois calls it) The scenes between them didn't show any spark nor chemistry unlike the cloises.
There were some amazing plots in the season but they finished them in some lame way, there were no grat climaxes.
I loded the video, I would hope that you make one with the best of this season too.
There definitely was some confusing use of story lines. I hesitate to say it was a major disappointment. However, questioning what they are doing is worthwhile. Without crisp story lines they are ripping us off and selling out/cashing in. I fell away from Buffy the Vampire Slayer when that began to happen. If this eighth season doesn't pick things back up ...can't say I'll stick around. It would be like watching 'Lost'.
I think Dean Cain was worth the hype, one of the best villians of the year (I was Jack the Ripper--still one of my fav lines) but the rest of the guest stars, yeah I agree.
I also think Laura is less at fault than the writers. They took turns churning out Karaville and then not taking her storyline anywhere.
But yeah, season seven was real bad, like when Lex is this close to getting a way to control Clark and all he can say is Nothing matters except Lana. Sigh.
@faaceverything I see this was posted 3 years ago and now that the final episode airs this week I was youtubing and saw your vid. Hands down, Season 7 was weak. Especially the first 6 or 7 episodes but it got better. Never great. 8 and 9 have matched my expectations and 10 has been hit and miss with many more "hits." Let's see what they do May 13th.
the real reason season 7 sucked is b/c of the fake clone death of lana as lame as tht was! then they had 2 bring back clana AGAIN therefore stoping clark from his destiny!lets face it clana got old like 2 seasons ago!
Forced Clois, and season 7 version of Lois period: Sleepin with the boss...oh and I loved the "Yeah, Chloe lost her job at the Planet for no reason, but you should come on aboard Clark"...what?
Return of Peete was just a longass stidex commercial...
Hey it wasn't Lois' fault Chloe got fired. Its not like she was telling Clark to take Chloe's job or anything. She was telling him to take an intern position after the ex-intern took Chloe's job. Forced Clois? Because of their friendship? I hardly think after 4 years, being friends is a forced thing. She may have slept with her boss, but she didn't gain anything from it, so people need to get over it. It lasted like 3 freakin episodes.
Err, she slept with the editor but she wants to be considered a reputable reporter. How many episodes of sex ya need to mess up that dream? I also know that it wasn't Lois' fault Chloe was fired, but seems like Lois' pitch to Clark for joining The DP would have had more to do with bringing down Lex instead of putting down Clark's way of life: Farming. As far as Lois knows, he likes farming and is taking after his father's footsteps. You gotta admit it was just bad writing. Both instances.
And the forced Clois: Season Finale. It was just plain awkward, for reasons I mentioned below with the farm deal AND the fact the beginning of episode she bustin down the door to get in but she's all stealth like in the end when she comes in to console him. I'm wondering what in their dynamic changed that she feels more welcome to come in his home like that? It was just weird. BAD WRITING. I like Lois, don't get me wrong but they're not doing her character justice.
What made Lois feel welcome in Clark's home...? Maybe the fact that she lived there for a year and worked there for another year? That could be it, right?
When I ask, I wonder what in their dynamic changed, I am referring to the season 7 finale. Why in the beginning of the show did she not just walk right in if that's just how it's supposed to be with those two. I thought the finale was inconsistent...and just plain bad, in so many ways. Not to say that season 7 was a walk in the park, generally.
Part 3: the only other thing i was disappointed in was clark chickening out in his "flying lessions" i wanted to see him eat shit at least once before delaying it...that episode was way over-hyped only to lead to disappointment so i do agree that this season did over-hype it's plots a bit but i liked it still, lol. wow this is the first time i've ever left a 3 part comment on a video, lol.
Part 2: if you didn't understand the finale, the orb basically destroyed the fortress of solitude, killing what is left of krypton (obviously not for good b/c it's in the movies and comics, lol). overall i liked season 7 but not as much as the other seasons. well season 6 wasn't all that great. as for the clone issue, it is something lex does so it makes sense to put it in the show.
I've always believed that cloning and time travel were sure signs of a show "jumping the shark". I really hope that that's now where Smallville's going
you want the show to "jump the shark"? well if that's the case you're in luck cuz next season will be the last season. but it WILL be good!! even tho lex wont be in it (sadly) they're bringing in Doomsday and another female villain (i think it's Maxima but not positive yet) and he will be working across from lois at the daily planet! i'm SO stoked for it :)
Part 1: okay. i will admit that out of all the seasons so far, season 7 was the weakest. i still enjoyed it and agree with some of the points made in this video like jimmy going secret agent but that's because i'm a huge fan of the nerdy character he's supposed to have. i get what you're saying but you have to remember that the writer's strike played a role in this season. the episodes towards the end after the writer's strike were a LOT better i think!!...
Laura Vandervoort was Ok,i liked it. but i think you have reason with the battle between Lex and Clark, I hoped a little more, but it's SMALLVILLE the best TV series ^^ Maybe this season sucked a little, but the other ones are wondefull, What do you think??
I actually laughed tears when I saw this video xD Nothing against you ;)
It's just that I thought it was really cute how you think that everything in season 7 is annoying^^
I especially loved the part at 4:52 (boring, boring, boring xD) and 5:10 when you admitted that the destroying of the fortress was cool ;)
I disagree but I like your video =D
I agree with @rimla212 and @ileese ;D
