@ kaninji: try pulling the slide back instead of it resting against the stop. It's hard to do almost like you need 3 hands but some guns do that. My millennium 111 9mm Taurus does. Hope that helps.
Sick vid man. Try better lighting but that gave me an idea of what I needed. Thx.
No muss, no fuss. I'm picking up one of these tomorrow in a trade, and I wanted to know how to quickly take it apart for examination before I consummate the deal. Thanks!
Yeah, that was one of my primary motivators for going with the 1911 design. Time tested and battlefield proven. Both SIG and Kimber are a bit pricey (my Kimber Custom I was $700 when I got it about 8-9 years ago) but still affordable plus their reliability and accuracy right out of the box is pretty much legendary. When it comes to my self defense, I definitely wanted quality and was not going to cheap out. Hopefully Uncle Sam is good to me this year and I can add a Sig to the collection.

I just switched from a Glock 23 in .40 S&W over to a SIG P229 in 9mm. Absolutely love the gun. I will never go back to a Glock.

Personally I find the Springfield XD's easier to field strip

ok i am having trouble my sig sauer p229 i cant get the lever to go straight down like its stuck or something wat could i be doing wrong?
kaninji1 1 year ago
Once you field strip a Sig such as the p229, you will never want to go back to any other gun. Its just too easy.
EJR914 2 years ago
Not true at all. MANY guns field strip the same way as the Sig.
BTW: I sold both my 229s and purchased a S&W M&P, great gun too.
There was NOTHING wrong with the Sigs, it's just that they didn't fit my hand very well.

@EJR914 lol glocks are way easier

Damn, I want to get one in DAK, because that's what most law enforcement agencies are using.
How do you like those Hogue rubber grips?

Yet I want a Kimber soooo bad, go figure :)
The Kimber is based on a hundred year old design but it's still one of the best.

Much easier than my Kimber 1911. It's not hard to take apart a 1911 but damn that was so MUCH faster and simpler by comparison!
