I guess network standards didn't pay much attention or didn't care back then. There's no way half the jokes in Animaniacs would ever be allowed on the air today in a kid's show. The late 80s/early 90s represented the apex of the kid's cartoon, I think. Everything on the air today is total crap compared to this.

hilarious that as a kid you don't get the goodnight everybody jokes. then when you see it as you're older you realize "oh these are the jokes meant to entertain the parents as well." you don't see cartoons like this anymore where kids could watch with their parents and both would enjoy. its a shame really
