I recently upgraded to Logic Pro 9 (thanks to the App store) and am having real issues with the Korg Legacy Collection. I can see them in the AU manager as successfully validated, but when I go to the library I can't see the instruments there to activate in my track. I can see all my logic instruments and Garageband instruments, but no 3rd party audio units. Any ideas?
@DaveZnoise So far, i really like it. There's nothing in my dock. i use launchpad and Mission Control. I like the 64-bit architecture, and am pretty glad for the fact that all of my 32-bit stuff still works. It doesn't feel quite like the huge upgrade I was expecting. Everything was fairly smooth except for a few plugins.
Hi I wonder can I set Logic to stop playing (song end) at the last region? I can't find any setting for that so it plays on to bar 130 unless I set manually.
@rawstarmusic You can create a MIDI region on any track, open the event list, and create a meta event to stop the song.
If you open the Logic Help document and look up the meta events, you'll see that you can do all kinds of weird stuff. I think I'll make that my next vid, thanks!
Fantastic video.. Its almost like it could be a different type of synth instrument to play with the slides. Very interesting with the 32 , 64 bit processing.
Excellent video David. Great to all that info in one hit. I've always avoided 64 bit for fear of plugins not working but I now feel more confident. Also Geo and Animoog look amazing. Maybe I should get an iPad2 after all. Anyway, good to have you back 'me old china" - as people used to say many moons ago here in the UK.
i've been curious about using the ipad to control logic remotely.. it seems as though midi is available on ipad and does a bang up job but as far as controlling logic from say "screens" or remote desktop may not be there yet. how do you feel about using ipad as a controller?
@disconnect4 Use 'Touch OSC'. It's Logic control for the iPad. It's totally sexy. It will give you transport control, automation, and great EQ control. I still love my real Logic Control surface, but Touch OSC sits right by me, and for little changes works really well. I find screens to be a bit cumbersome, since it's actually doing VNC. You have to be dead on with your finger to get that thing to work.
Almost fell out of my chair when I saw your new video listed, great to have you back. Fantastic info as usual and I hope you'll do the Geo/Logic video when the busy Ninja has the time. :)
@gurdjieff46 Thanks! Yeah, it's on my plate. I just need a little more quality time with Geo and SampleWiz... I've been checking out options on input into the iPad as well, but Jordan seems to rock it without need of anything special. Heck, with Dream Theater, he just had it hovering over his rig, and was playing the screen. He's developed great technique on that thing. LOL
@romodrummerjz Yeah, this 'universal Standard' made me really mad. My cool Logitech 720p (supposedly) camera now acts like it has been knocked up side the head.

Hey Ninja! So..... just to clarify. In my 64bit Lion OS is it best to run Logic in 32 or 64? thanks!
bornmusicians 3 months ago
Hey Dave, you should check out Touchosc for your ipad, if you're not already aware.

Great vid, I was wondering what your opinion on upgrading to Lion is? Waste of time? Worth it etc?
Thanks
