Nice shots to get it through that gap. It's hard to tell how far away the trees are to judge your power though. It seems like a little better form could add a hundred feet though. Great camera work.
man I wish i had some nice open fields at my courses we have trees everywhere and it's hard to practice a real drive when you have to look out for trees
try a baseball field. especially one with a backstop. try to throw yout discs towarrds the backstop. I try not to actually hit the fence with the discs, but I rather use the fence to catch the wild throws. then I turn around and throw the discs from home plate to get an idea how far I am throwing. I try out new things on the baseball field before going to league play on the weekends.
Hey man, your doing a great job and fantastic on the camera work. I'm sorry there are so many dicks on here (NO FOOT FAULT) giving you crap. Don't let their negativity bother you. It just shows who they really are inside. You should join discgolfersRus (if you haven't already). I hope to see you on there:)and looking forward to seeing more of your work.
I'm guessing the courses you play have the old DGA signs that designate 200-ft holes as par 4's. I agree that is ridiculous, but if you look at PDGA's website, there are very clear guidelines as to what constitutes par 4's and 5's. Do you really think a 1100-ft hole, for instance, should be a par 3?
Yeah..not bad. My shit ends up fuzzy everytime. Check out my vids too, I collect high lights from the tournys I go to got some good Coda H, Barry Schultz, and Cale leiviska. Ill subscribe to yours. Im from wichita Falls tx my buddy Hank and Murphy just moved to St loius a couple of months ago if you meet a disc golfer from texas named H or M fuck with their heads a little..later man keep up the good work.
thanks for the feedback. it was alone with a tripod. i'm a hack disc golfer in st. louis and plan on using that graphic and a couple others to put together some tournament dvds in coming months. i'm filming one in illinois this weekend, but it'll probably be a week or two before i get any footage up. this clip was actually so i could show some local pros my form in slow-motion and get some tips on how to throw better.
@ThEdArBoYz69 the way i do it is i put my index and middle finger on the rim and my thumb on the top and I start my throw with my arm bent a little bit up but across from my shoulder and when I throw i get about 150 feet
This is really nice video work. The on-screen graphic showing the hole and the disc being thrown is a nice touch. Unlike many disc golf videos, yours clearly shows the player from a good angle and the disc is clearly visible. And the slow mo replay is nice too. Did you shoot these alone with a tripod or was someone helping out?
What disc did you use for that fore hand roller.

That forehand drive looked a bit weak... I'm guessing forehands are not really your thing? Or is it just deceptive? How far did it go?
Nice roller though and I am sure the backhand went way further than mine since I pretty much suck at backhand (but trying to get better).
Oh and I too like the sound made by the metal chains in slow motion... it is so cool!

try more of a windup for backhands, I tried it and I can get a lot more power out, the only thing you have to do after that is control it X.x

As a new player to the game I found the slow mo very helpful!

not anymore. many of the new courses going in have par 4's and 5's.
jaylewisstl 4 years ago
boo for that... the places i go, we assume all are par 3's even if it says otherwise... keeps it interesting.

well at parks nearby, there is a 600 foot hole which may be debateable, it is parable at 3 strokes.
mikelacine 4 years ago
aren't all hole's in disc golf par 3's?
fuzzcentralage 4 years ago
yes... they just label them otherwise for non-serious recreational players
