  • This is exactly why I subscribe, just a beautiful, beautiful song, sung beautifully, played with a great sense of feeling and timing. Good stuff sir.

  • Thank you for your kind words.

  • Hello

    Raymond...

This is indeed one that we all sing @ Sweet Rosie O'Grady's Bar & Grill in The Big Apple. I even sing it with my very thick and distinctive (non-Irish) NY accent.

Here, you have certainly done this bona fide classic in the Irish tradition great justice with your poignant and sensitively-rendered musical showcase.

    Peace,

    Stewball

  • Thank you, Mr Stewball.

  • Really wonderful and sterling performence mr crooke! | 5 stars |*|*|*|*|*|

  • Thanks, Christopher,

  • Wonderful Raymond. You got the sound man. My Grandfather,an Irish immigrant to the States, sang just like this.

    Mark

  • Thanks, Mark. I still get the occasional comment that I shouldn't sing Irish songs because I don't have the right accent!

  • WHat!?!? Thats just rediculous. Whoever said that is missing the point entirely. Like I said, this is some of the best traditional music I've ever heard.

  • Have you heard my song, "YouTube Comments"? (Video No. 347) I think the best way to deal with such nionsense is to write a song about it!

  • A great rendition, Raymond.

  • Thanks, Marco, especially for the video response.

  • Great song. Thanks for sharing..

  • Thanks, GG. Have a listen to Marco's rendition (video response). It's very good, especially the guitar work.

  • I found this powerful and quite enjoyable. But I love Loch Lomond so I guess that makes sense. Great lyrics here though.

  • Thanks Derek. They're both lovely songs.
