there weren't even any good fight scenes in the second, at least in the first one there was one good alien and predator fight scene, but this one was an insult to the first one and that is bad.

Despite how bad the movie turned out, you do have to admit one thing the Wolf Predator (which is in a fact also ranked an Elder) is the best looking Predator that's ever been on screen, yes even more so than 1 and 2 - and I love those films. Secondly the VFX were awesome, apparently the one thing the Strause Brothers ARE good at.
@9Y0 AVP1 was PG-13, AVP2 was R-rated, hence the excessive amount of gore, e.g. a guy having his face melted off on-screen by the Aliens acidic blood. Please learn your facts next time, or at the very least the English language...

I never said they were good movies, I just said there were a few small redeeming factors, not for the films themselves but for the on-screen cross-over continuity, which is as I stated before was such things as: Elders, hybrid species, etc. I love the Alien and Predator franchises and the worlds created, not just the films. And yeah Prometheus should interesting, albeit it's been confirmed it's no long an Alien prequel.

It's nice that the mentally challenged have movie franchises like AVP they can latch onto and enjoy. Not everyone is equipped to watch films like Alien and Aliens and enjoy them on a level most of us can. It's also a plus for them to watch these AVP films in the theatre as the sound is usually at a level loud enough to drown-out the sound of all the mouth breathing going on in the theatre.

I loved this movie. It gave me the action that AVP was missing. It had a darker atmosphere also. I couldn't stand AVP cuase it had no action in it. I watch AVP movies for well.. Aliens fighting Predators and AVP didn't give me that. AVPR gave me more.
I liked the first AVP. But Requiem was a wreck. Review is accurate. I enjoyed when the forgettable characters died- I thought they all deserved it. Never got to see either monster in all it's glory- SUCKED!
To be honest I enjoyed all the Alien & Predator film good and bad, after all these years 20th Century Fox made the right choice in letting Robert Rodriguez make his Predator instalment, a film of substance, performence, and true to the fans, lets hope Ridley Scott we do the same with his new prequels to his original Alien

@Predpool I dont agree, (please be mature about this) i think the avpr storyline was targeted towards teenagers so they could relate to it... acting sucked and the most vibrant character was the Wolf Predator... AVP showed us how they got to Earth, gave us three likeable-ish characters, good fights where you CAN SEE, and the story was aright. I'd give it 3/5 stars and AVPR 1/5...

My main problem with both of the movies (along with the facts that you said) was that they were placed on Earth. I have read a number of AVP books and I rarely enjoyed the ones that are here. The core of AVP in my opinion that it is NOT on Earth. It's space, another planet. Anything but here. According to the series the Predators are responsible (well mostly) for the spreading of the aliens to other planets, so that they can hunt them down for sport. This is the core. -->

For all its flaws I enjoyed AVP-R better than Alien 3* (*bar the Alien Dog design), Resurrection and Predators.
It was a fun, throwaway piece of Friday night action that I saw at the cinema and bought on DVD.
Regardless the film is 4 years old next month so. Lets be adults. Keep our opinions to ourselves. And move on ;-)

My movie review.
3.5/10 for 2 reasons only:
1. There were Aliens
2. There were Predators
Mediocre plot, boring characters, horrible lighting, and a God awful ending. If they make another AvP it better be worth my money.

AvP1 and Requiem are a total insult to both Franchises, Along with Alien Resurrection and the recent "Predators", these movies are total Dog Shit! Why do Fox do this to the fans? The potential for these 2 sucsessfull Franchises was limitless! All Fox had to do was listen to the fans and keep it realistic! Not churn out any old shit directed by cheap,below par directors who aren't fit to lick the boots of the likes of Ridley Scott, James Cameron or John Mc Tiernan! Prometheus is your LAST chance!

The movie was doing fine until it started killing kids and shooting eggs into wombs.
There is a line to draw between horror and sick. Horror is scaring me, but this was something else. It's the movie equivalent of 2 girls 1 cup.

I can't believe you compared Requiem to Alien vs Hunter!! That movie is one of -if not- the worst films ever made! It's boring, there's nothing to get excited about, the atmosphere looks fake, poor designs, and so on.
It makes Requiem look like LOTR.

Every movie reviewer on youtube has to be hard on every movie they review. >> Can nobody really see that a movie is just a movie and not real and enjoy it for what it is? Entertainment? I mean ya some things you bring up, like quick incubation, and too dark, I'll agree with, but this movie was way better then the first one. By far. It's nice that the mentally challenged have movie franchises like AVP they can latch onto and enjoy. Not everyone is equipped to watch films like Alien and Aliens and enjoy them on a level most of us can. It's also a plus for them to watch these AVP films in the theatre as the sound is usually at a level loud enough to drown-out the sound of all the mouth breathing going on in the theatre.

the thing that makes predetor good is two things Groups- and isolation the two things that made predetor 1 an amazing film a GROUP of militants going to save a platoon of comrades in a ISOLATED juingle but in predetor 2 it was smack fucking dab in the heart of L.A !!!and there was only one main character danny glover you people are just fucking critics only flawless movies could even come close to a 1 out of 10 i hate critics.

why do people hate AVP so much????? nobody bitched after freddy v.s jason? AVP #1 was incredible! i thought it was way ahead of its time for 2004, it had a good cast of characters, a good plotline, and a new view on predator, the fact that he teamed up with a human interested me, and gave a new view on the predetor, not being as much as a predetor. i know the plotline of AVP2 and it doesnt exite me, the fact that its in a town is the worst part in my mind

i just love love loveeee the original Aliens and the Predator movies
all that came after was sum serious stupid crap.
yet its such a hugeee and brilliant idea to bring these two classic characters together in one epic movie.. i don't think anybody have done a satisfying job yet.
well.. i guess we will just keep on waiting.. until some genius really comes up with sumthin really worth watching.

Well, I'll say this before anyone starts mentioning the new born form Resurrection, according to the makers of AVPR, an alien will have only 15-20% from it's host, and 80-85% of its genes are still alien. The new born due to mixed genes is likely 50% both human and alien.

Yeah i know - ive seen all 5 crow movies i love them all but the 1 with Brandon Lee was the best by far! theres rumoured to be another crow movie comming out but apprently its gonna be fucking zack efron playing the crow which is sad! my mum thinks that Johnny Depp should be the next crow - and i agree he wouldnt upstage Lee but he would be killer.

They turned an epic sci-fi, horror, survival franchise into a goddam teen slasher. This guy is 120% right. When I first watched it, I thought to myself, "Well, they're taking alot of film time off of Alien and Predator to introduce these unlikable characters, I guess I should care about them, oh would you look that, they've been killed, nobody seems to care much untill that blond chick gets cut in half though, hey it's the U.S. army, epic inter-spieces battle ti- oh, they droped a nuke."

I loved this movie. It gave me the action that AVP was missing. It had a darker atmosphere also. I couldn't stand AVP cuase it had no action in it. I watch AVP movies for well.. Aliens fighting Predators and AVP didn't give me that. AVPR gave me more.

I liked the first AVP. But Requiem was a wreck. Review is accurate. I enjoyed when the forgettable characters died- I thought they all deserved it. Never got to see either monster in all it's glory- SUCKED!

To be honest I enjoyed all the Alien & Predator film good and bad, after all these years 20th Century Fox made the right choice in letting Robert Rodriguez make his Predator instalment, a film of substance, performence, and true to the fans, lets hope Ridley Scott we do the same with his new prequels to his original Alien

@Predpool I dont agree, (please be mature about this) i think the avpr storyline was targeted towards teenagers so they could relate to it... acting sucked and the most vibrant character was the Wolf Predator... AVP showed us how they got to Earth, gave us three likeable-ish characters, good fights where you CAN SEE, and the story was aright. I'd give it 3/5 stars and AVPR 1/5...

AVPR lighting is the worst lighting I've seen in a film EVER!!!! If you hap a completetly black screen it would be lighter than what you see in this movie. Good review.

My main problem with both of the movies (along with the facts that you said) was that they were placed on Earth. I have read a number of AVP books and I rarely enjoyed the ones that are here. The core of AVP in my opinion that it is NOT on Earth. It's space, another planet. Anything but here. According to the series the Predators are responsible (well mostly) for the spreading of the aliens to other planets, so that they can hunt them down for sport. This is the core. -->
