  • don't know if I will ever find my way home.... someone was my home, claimed to be my home, and now has left suddenly after I trusted him with all my thoughts, love, and history of my life... once someone is your home and you get to be in your 40's, how do you ever find your way to another one you can trust?

  • The best times of my life

  • The poor acid trippers won't get to remember the show!

  • we of the 60s gen have our parent's gen to thank for the inspiration to "find our way home"....just as current gens have us to thank for the undercurrent of internationalism invading human consciousness in the biggest universally expressed renaissance yet. There will always be naysayers for that is just part of the paradigm of living in a world of paradoxical nature. The fact is....we are still evolving down the long vein of a creation in this wonder of infinitude....

  • @mawheegan

Too much dope and Star Trek and what do you get? Simpleminded utopianism that completely ignores human nature and embraces globalism at a time when the world is being run by bankers and industrialists who are using mass communications, the UN and financial instability to usher in a transnational oligarchy, which will bring neither peace nor security. But you just go on and keep dreaming that pipe dream. Maybe it will diminish the pain when heads start rolling.

  • brian was killed in that pool the guy who did it confessed on his death bed

  • for the cap 53 right u are but im a canuck and will never forget what u guys did

  • This is what America is all about.....Go home to where you onced lived...America is still better then anywhere you could go. So go you Fricking morons that complain.... go home to your mother and help her...stay out of America you blood sucking pigs...lazy worthless system suckers

  • Reminds me of back in the day when the Allman Bros Band still had Duane & Barry w/them & played at a Warehouse on Tchopatoulis Street(New Orleans) w/ Pink Floyd to follow. When music was melodic & harmonious & not 3rd grade, foul-mouthed rhymes.

  • naked die danginc

  • ;)

  • HE"S SO LITTLE BUT HIS VOICE IS DEEP AS A FUCk

  • He has a real mature voice for such a young guy

  • I have heard that Ginger Baker was the first Stones drummer

  • @airkooled05 without charlie watts they definitely weren't the STONES yet, then...

  • Great old song . I cant get local stations here in Denver to play it

  • i wish i was born 1950...

  • First heard this song in the last episode of 21 Jump St... I sure miss that show!

  • @thecapt53 kiss my a** jagoff

  • glad to see comments from those of us who were there was on the west coast now in nm desert am now a grt gramma still rockin tho very s l o w l y

use what i call my music as inspiration for painting

the memories just roll on into consciousness "baby let your mind roll on"

that era changed my lifespirit forever

notice than folks who were not there do not understand the transformations that occurred

has anyone heard any songs comparable from the ows?? peace

  • @msraggedyaint No I am afraid to say not...fearsome that we have lost individual spirit of which our way was fostered..though it is the 'way' to freedom, the generations past 1970 have no understanding of this and the music shows this...very sad indeed.

  • 47 DISLIKES !!!!!!!! WTF

  • ...and the Rolling Stones followed suit, playing the Park for free on 5th July, initially to introduce their new guitarist Mick Taylor but the event soon got turned into a tribute to their former guitarist Brian Jones who had died two days earlier. Even tho' the music around that time sounds great it always strikes me as somewhat troubled and searching as the Sixties and all its dreams, promises & ideologies come to an end with, in a way, the infamous Stones' concert at Altamont in December '69.

  • @TheJappicus Brian Jones died in a 'swimmin' pool(Do ya believe it????)And -now - M.Jagger chose to get 'knighted' by HRM.the Queen!!!!SIR M.Jagger : even keith says he's a 'WANKER'!!!!!!even the Beatles('Mummies Boys'...'cept for John!)REFUSED a 'Knighthood'!!!!!!and the Stones were supposed tobe the 'Bad Boys'!!!!!XXXXXWhat bollox is that????!!!Creashonrebel@yahoo.com

  • @TheJappicus I've been looking @ clips from Altamont & that was some messed up stuff..you can almost feel the bad vibes from watching it.

  • @TheJappicus You all miss the point. I was at Woodstock, I was at both Moratoriums, we had an extremely ingenuous concept of reality, especially given the JFK murder. But there's a plan, and it isn't our plan. Hope is gone in our young now, we had plenty of it. Our generation sits on its hands while our nation goes into socialism, at best. WHERE ARE YOU WOODSTOCK GENERATION? Time to SPEAK UP, our Constitution is being SHREDDED. Power to the people!

  • @Ellzeena Finally! Someone who gets it!

  • Where was this filmed, please?

  • @swannavon Hyde Park London, June 7th 1969. Please find me a time machine,

  • @sebastiansap2003 Wow, thanks. What a jewel of a video, and what a great band!

  • What a great band.

  • Great vid. Stevie Winwood on the keys and Clapton on the guitar. Previously for Clapton it was Cream. After his second supergroup, Blind Faith, he went for obscurity by naming his next band Derrick & The Dominoes. When they started recording what would become one of the great all time albums, Layla & Other Assorted Love Songs, he happened to run into an unknown fan of by the name of Duane Allman of the Allman Brothers - who 'guest appeared' on most of the tracks. Steve Winwood went on to Traffic

  • @praxxxe It's Derek and the Dominos. :)

  • @praxxxe yes and everybody forgive Ric Grech at the bass...who before was in Family ...their 2nd album is quite excellent...

  • typical Eric in this period of seeking low profile after the stardon light of Cream , standing in the background behind the drums , but Oh can he play!

  • what a voice

  • Just. Enjoy. This.

  • Good rendition, but Steve was straining after some high notes that he nailed easily in the studio version -- maybe he was tired, intimidated by the live venue? Or something else?

  • @stevevandien Oh, the thing that singers should baby the most is them damn vocal chords. I sang for 8 years, untrained, and that is your weakest link. A good 'trained' vocalist shouldn't have a problem. Ask James Hetfield of Metallica who thrashed his voice into oblivion. Needed medical intervention. Nonetheless, I loved this video.

  • Where were you standing in 1969?

  • Ah! Those were the days.

  • Widespread Panic kills this song!!!! Hoping to hear it in Charlotte NYE.

  • We fought and died in Nam. We protested, fought and died in America's streets. We changed the world. Now in our 60's or closing in and you know what? We still fucking rock!

  • @thecapt53 Yes we do !!!!!!!!

  • @thecapt53 trouble is is now all those long haired red diaper doper babies are now lawyers and politicians selling us down the river. Hypocrisy and selling out. It was a nice idea, it just don't work.

  • @siena6969

sorry @thecapt53 my comment was meant for @siena6969

  • @siena6969 not all of 'em ^^

  • you didnt change the world! Besides the music, you made it worse!

  • @thecapt53 Hell Ya!!

  • @thecapt53 you fucked the world up royally. thanks

  • @thecapt53 Damned straight Cap! Class of '68 here and rockin'!

  • Winwood looks like he's about 19 years old here.

  • I've heard some fine covers, but BF's version still strikes me as the best. Mainly because Winwood's voice has such a plaintive quality --

  • 1969 enfield il i wanted to see them dad was worry are me

  • @hocuspocusfocusable: you were there??

  • What can I say? I was 18...

  • AMAZING! this is where it all started! soooo wish i was alive back then. but then again, sometimes i think i was.

  • @shamanpj it was amazing...

  • Anybody know the date and location of this recording?

  • @johnnystaccata 1969...I believe its Hyde Park

  • @McHunter111 Yes,you are correct.

  • @johnnystaccata Hyde Park, London. June the 7th 1969.

  • hhhmmmm Tele with a Strat neck.

  • Love this song.

  • Thanks for posting. Fantastic footage. Really takes me back to simpler times in life.

  • @hochan8 went last night! saiko!

  • Thank you for sharing this with us...I too get transported to another time...a fun and grand time.

  • Stevie Windwood is the man!

  • This is great, I once passed my train stop 3 times, got within one stop so decided to walk, what memories!

  • Funny how his Telecaster has a Strat headstock...

  • @SoCalFlyer1 He put a Strat neck on a Tele.

  • I like this version.

  • 45 people found their way home and the locks were changed!

  • Goddamn '70 sucks!

  • @followthebeat66 - the sponge is to dampen the sound..ya know,,like take the edge off? it was hi-tech back in the day!

  • @cheechwizrd - yeah but it looks like it is behind the bridge...and in this case it would be useless because there is no tension or??...but any way an epic track from an epic constellation...=)

  • @cheechwizrd - I like the Hi-Tech of the early days...=)

  • @followthebeat66 - the sponge is to dampen the sound..ya know,,like take the edge off?

  • @renfieldvonklauss

Beter appreciated by we children of the sixties' the Viet Nam Generation

  • eric clapton on lead guitar

  • why has he a sponge in his bass guitar..???

  • @followthebeat66 That's the only way to mute and still pick like that.

  • the director of this video was a full incompetent in music...

  • If you haven't see Steve Winwood lately - do it if he comes near you. He has updated the Traffic, Spencer Davis Group and Blind Faith catalog of songs in a really hip way with a great backing band

    .

  • Comment removed

  • wasn't Steve Winwood 16 at this time?

  • @deblovesjoel No, he was a bit older here: 21. But he had been in the Spencer Davis Group much earlier and was probably in that band at 16. The killer is, he's even better today in his 60's. One of the greatest musicians in rock, and we're lucky he's been so good for so long.

  • This song brings back so many memories of my younger days . Of all the bands out there, I followed the members of this group through their transitions from band to band, Out of all Cream and Blind Faith are still my favorite bands Traffic is a close second. Eric is still my favorite performer and guitarist..long may he reign!! Bring back another Summer of Love!

    Thanks for posting!

  • hahhahhahahah!!!! 1:52

  • Eric hides in the backcause he`s too freaked out by all the shit.

  • STEVIE - THE SWEET WHITE SOUL MAN!

  • Great song. Too bad the cameraman couldn't find his way to Clapton's left hand during the solo! Actually he finally did and then it was cut away after a half a second, but who's counting?

  • i would give 10 years of my life to experience a week of this era...

  • E freekin' epic!!!!!!*###@****%>}

  • Love Steve Winwood. He's had many "incarnations" (best adj. I can think of, at the moment lol). There is greatness & a bit of genius in each & every one, in my opinion. Long may he continue......he's had one hell of a run. : ) Thanks for posting this.

  • I stuck a strat neck on a tele back in the day just because Clapton had one.

  • Ah those were the days, Too bad I grew up.

  • @tixximmi Same here Tixximmi..I miss it so much. Never again has there been such great music in such a short time.

  • breakfast lunch and dinner

  • I don't understand why people get on these videos and write vile things about the video or about another artist... I am so grateful to be able to hear and see these and if I run across one that does not grab me I move along. It is all from artists putting their soul out there, all open for interpretation and none are bad.

  • @JOHNHOF1

I love this stuff because it is great music and because it transports me to another time in my life. These groups we love from this era started by writing and performing what they loved not what would sell. To say there is no new talent out there to compare comes from just plain laziness or lack of knowledge. Sure the stuff on mainstream radio is not good, it is marketed to a broad range of audience to sell product. Start searching the independents and you should find what moves you

  • @JOHNHOF1 well said!

  • @JOHNHOF1 VERY WELL SAID!! Sadly, modern public view of a great song is rated by the music video which includes sexual content, violence, abuse, defiance, hostility etc. The lyrical content is equally as uninspiring. Should this simply be accepted as Sign of the Times or is this the sad proof of media influence and dictation of what is important ,valuable and what we should pay attention to? -- The basis of Entertainment!? Conformity/complaceny has replaced Self Thinking/Decision/Discipline.

  • I was there .....my favourite from their stuff..

  • I always loved Steve Windwood's voice...

  • Winwood is just excellent full stop

  • That was fuckin' awesome! Californication S03E04 brought me here!

  • Written by Steve Winwood.

  • awesome! it's amazing after all this time I can just get on you tube and listen to songs it used to take months to find or order. Great time to be alive!!

  • raw performances. those are what matter in the music industry. this song captures the essence of what raw is at a performance, just like so many other bands of the 60s and 70s.

  • Great tune,by a supergroup.

  • Brilliant song i have this concert on a DVD London Hyde park 1969

  • um fuck you, i prefer this version to Eric singing it any day.

  • Everything I want to say is going to be liked and disliked, words are my ballads, yet I'm speechless. This song is an amazing part of our musical history. It's still impacting our world. It's not about who sings it better or worse. It's about what it does to us. Do we sing along or lie back & just enjoy the music or words. Even if you change the station or turn it off.... It's touched you in a way that few things in life can. Sung before I was born yet I just lie back and enjoy.

  • I don't care what you any of you guy's say about Steve having an off day singing! This is a song of songs....god I love it!

  • Granted, Winwood was definitely having an off day singing in this video. Can't ignore it just because he was Winwood.

  • i love the change from his normal voice to his singing voice. what a fucking gift, this song is soooo good.

  • @bvilleborn as a young woman and a musician I TOTALLY agree with you!!!

  • SEEMS TO ME WE COULD JUST LISTEN TO THE MUSIC AND BE GLAD WE WERE THERE WHEN IT CAME ABOUT.WHATS EVERYONE SO PISSED OFF ABOUT?

  • @TheOLDGUY51 Say OLDGUY man did you ever hit the proverbial nail on the head. .these young pups just can't see the forest because of the trees. fuk'em fukem all

  • fuck rolling stone and fuck tupac and if you don't like this go fuck yourself

  • This the Brian Jones memorial concert?

  • only thang that comes close is jimi along the watchtower

  • bloody brillent haqll of fame tune

  • @Captainblewhard: Tupac belong on that list cuz he's the best hiphop artist of all time. He also wrote some of the best lyrics of all time as well. Buuuuut, as far as Rock goes, top 10 goes: The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones, Eagles, Led Zepelin, The Ramones, and go ahead and argue the 10th spot. Grateful Dead maybe? Maybe Beach Boys? Maybe even The Who... But do NOT, disrespect Tupac. He's great in his own way. Just like Clapton is in his.

  • @coltyboy17 Comparing Tupac to Clapton is like comparing Erkel to MLK.

  • @GrandmaHadHugeBiceps I never compared them... Idk what you're talking about.

  • @GrandmaHadHugeBiceps Your are correct sir!!

  • @GrandmaHadHugeBiceps thats pretty disrespectful.. tupac was a great artist theyre are just uncomparable (i may have misinterperted your statement though.

  • @GrandmaHadHugeBiceps aaawww duuude clapton's amazing and all but tupac is totally different, and was great at what he did. just because you don't like his music doesn't mean that he didn't have incredible talent!

  • @toasttoasttoast12 Best talent Tupac had was getting his ass arrested.

  • @GrandmaHadHugeBiceps Sorta but more like comparing a Turd to MLK.

Erkel had some talent. But I get your drift.

Actually a Turd has value as fertilizer. So maybe I am still giving Tupac too much credit

  • UP the IRA

  • this is just raw and beautiful

  • Richard Ramirez is good on the keyboards.

  • I'm in love with Stevie W. and always have been.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow man! Typical '60's cinematography with the snap edits and over use of the zoom. But I still dig it man. BTW...GREAT guitar strap on E.C.

  • much prefer this to the album version

  • Love hearing Clapton on that Tele!!!!!!

  • excellent backing job by Clapton, in the best band Clapton ever had!!!

  • I'm quite enjoying this little gem. Greatest part: Winwood still sounds just like this.

  • 45 people couldn't find their way to the like button.

  • Is this the only version of this song that sounds like this? every other version I've heard is slower. I like this the better

  • Great song! Thank you guys....

  • telecaster + strat neck and headstock

    I love eric clapton

  • Amen captainblewhard! Stevie Winwood sounds just as good today as he did back in the day. Traffic...you are 100% right on, one of the most underrated groups of all time.

  • Amen captainblewhard!!!!!! Winwood was not only great then but still sounds great now. Traffic one of the most underrated groups of all time...bar none!

  • Saw em at the Forum in Inglewood with Free and Bonnie and Delaney. Baker Clapton Winwood and Grech. Definitely a Super Group. Saw Clapton next in Santa Monica as Derek and The Dominoes, though Delaney Bramlett was playing slide guitar instead of Duene Allman. That was probably one of the rocking-est concerts I remember ever seeing though the shrooms might have had something to do with it.

  • the brother was obviously a 1%er outlaw biker. maybe even a hells angel. they all wore and displayed Nazi symbolism back then especially in England and Europe. They wore these items to shock and scare straight folk (squares) and express there individualism. here's a quote from Sonny Barger, president of the Hells Angels Oakland chapter. "If a Hells Angels guy is wearing Nazi paraphernalia, it's basically their equivalent of sticking up a finger to some middle class family they see in a Volvo"

  • @scutLY69 what a stupid attitude. However, that is whatmakes the world a great place to be. Sonny Barger is no one to imitate. There is and will always be a hell of a lot more "middle class families in Volvos" than scooter trash because those outlaws contribute nothing worthwile to the socity in which they thrive and yet want to destroy. Those bastards wouldn't make a big pimple on a real Nazi"s ass.

  • @Girldogg1 Obviously you don't know any real bikers. Say that to a Hells Angels or Pagan member and you will get your ass beat!!!! And your no biker, I saw you commented on a "flo-rida video" DUDE, you try n tell me your a real biker and you will be laughed off the face of the earth. I don't even need to go any farther into this discusison!!

• "Great Live" Electric Version of Winwoods compostion AMAZING Band With Vision.

  • At exactly .44 seconds there's a brother wearing a WW2 NAZI HELMET. I'm a Military Historian & I know a nazi helmet when I see one. I know we were all about peace & love back then but we were also very anti war/nazi/hate/etc. I can't believe what I'm seeing! And I can't believe no one on here has said anything about it. I know it's all about the music but seeing that just ruined it for me! Still love the music tho but won't be watching this vid again. Sorry

  • @christopher8262 Yeah I just saw that, at 44 seconds and it lasted for about half a second, the war lasted longer so I don't think it will ruin my viewing or life, considering my Grandfather fought the war to give me the life I have now......

  • ahoy capn blewhard, permission to come aboard........you nailed it with your comments on the idiot rolling stone lists and the fecal matter (madonna, gaga, et all) that passes for music today......rock on...

  • i was 11 years old in 69..i remember these days but i wish i had been about 18. whatta time for music

  • wtf! Classic Rock !

  • What a great classic song

  • For the guy that says Winwood doesn't play guitar...he does all of the following Vocals, keyboards, bass guitar, guitar, drums, mandolin, electric organ, synthesizers, violins

  • @TheTrippybutterfly That some really hard rejections to take, TTBF. Have you sought counseling over this? It might be wise for you to do so. You don't want to take all of this negative stuff alone! Good Luck! Hang in there! Peace!!!

  • A bunch of truly great musicians. Everything is executed so tastefully & appropriately. Excellent musicianship. Wish I'd been alive when this gig was happening. Wish I was alive to experience this whole era. Agreed with the comments below, Steve Winwood is superb.

  • Saw this when it was recorded Hyde Park !!

  • this song is in my heart and blood

  • some folks don't get that the sounds in this vid were brand-new and wholly original.--a concept completely lost on generations of sampled easy-music. standing on the shoulders of giants--don't forget your place.
