Wow, if this isn't the worst, most unoriginal song i have ever herd - sounds like every other Indie Rock song I've herd accept there not British. No wonder The Mars Volta take the piss out of them. Wow man, why get pissed off about a band that have a boring sound? - and by the way Indie Rock has been around the past 20 years now, so no, it wasn't before indie rock. And dude i don't care if you 'hate' me, thats the kind of reply i'd expect from someone listening to this band - you hate me because of my opinion, OK haha. You have a narrow musical opinion if your listening to this stuff - there is nothing new here, go cry to your mum about it, assuming your five - you act like it.
I am taking the piss out of you for listening to music that has a mainstream sound such as this song. If i wont listen to this shit and if i think this is mainstream I'm not going to go listen to Lady Gaga who is even more mainstream and shit.
And what's to understand about them? They have a boring sound that I've herd hundreds of times and there trying to sing about politics to confuse people into thinking they have a cause. The whole point of writing music is to do something different and new - not pump out the same crap that mainstream rock (Indie) artists have been doing for the past 20 years. You need to educate yourself musically. I'm not trying to have a go at anyone, I'm just stating my opinion of a Band.
Thats a bit of a stereotype, saying 'man' or 'dude' doesn't mean in the slightest that I'm trying to be American. - we're talking about music here, not the British educational system or my spelling. your a typical youtube - fag: talking about my bad spelling when I'm trying to discuss music - It really shows your lack of argument to what I'm saying. I'm not the most intelligent person, and i never said i was, you pretentious tool.
The only reason I brought up your atrocious spelling was because of your blatant snobbishness - clearly you think you're better than people for not listening to TINC - I thought I'd bring you back down to earth by pointing out you can't even spell.
Pot - I'm not English, I'm Scottish - what we call it where i am. And yes - simple minded because of what these bands are doing to the music industry. If you actually don't agree with anything I'm saying then your just one of them. I can't be arsed talking to a narrow minded prick. If you are actually that blind that you cant see what indie rock does to the music industry then you know nothing about music. - And I don't want a game of last word.
It's funny you can dare call anyone a "narrow minded prick", when all along you've basically worked upon the precedent that anyone who doesn't agree with the music you like = musically simple-minded.
I do think some indie music is destructive but I happen to disagree that TINC fit in with those bands - but then, I'm "one of them" aren't I? So open minded! Laughably hypocritical.
@AmoebaLandsCraft If you think the music's bland, then that's fair enough - but I can't for the life of me see where you can then deduce anyone who listens to this - and isn't actively discovering for some "musical exploration" - is musically simple-minded.
It's a bonus if the music happens to touch upon a new sound - not the be-all and end-all. I think the lyrical content alone sets it miles apart from average "mainstream" music.
I understand, i just get tiered of the same thing - I think Indie rock has gone a bit far. I mean, you as a Brit should know how popular it gets with very little effort.
Yes, we can agree on one thing: our "indie" scene is disastrous at the moment - full of imitations and indie that's so pop it's a wonder they don't mime at their gigs. It's the "in" thing, so every cunt and their guitar's jumping on the bandwagon.
I just don't think TINC - while not being musically groundbreaking - were looking to imitate anybody specifically to gain popularity or tap into a market.
They're just a rock band who are quite comfortable with their traditional sound.
Headlight, you are dealing with the quintessential music rebel--someone who stops listening to a band once they reach 10 listeners because they have "sold out" and who thinks that in calling people "musically simple minded", we're all going to be intimidated by the sheer non-conformism of the phrase. In other words, Amoeba acts just like the "mainstream". Anything outside of what he/she considers the norm is bad and expects us to follow what he/she says like sheep. The irony of all ironies.
Oh, you don't listen to music with a "mainstream" sound? And you're the one complaining about unoriginality? Please, your comments reek of the stereotypical elitist "rebel" of internet infamy.
The point of writing music is to express yourself, not to write "hip" music for idiots like yourself to brag about. Also, indie isn't really all that mainstream, and this band helped popularize THIS particular sound. I suggest you drop the pretentiousness. Hell, go and listen to Lady Gaga.
I didn't say its a problem - i don't like unoriginal music, it gets boring. you said indie isn't all that mainstream, well it is. mainstream doesn't just mean a large fan base it means the sound as well - a mainstream sound being something thats generic, I listen to some massive bands that have completely original sounds and I even like some mainstream bands. All I'm saying is there is other things out there past the boundaries of dumbed down rock. You've missed the point.
@AmoebaLandsCraft Indie Rock describes a very wide array of music these days b/c the term "indie" has come into a favorable light, and is perceived as being "hip'' and "cool". To label it ALL as mainstream, uncreative, and simple-minded is is pretty arrogant. Good Charlotte and Sum 41 being labeled as punk is a good example of what happens when a certain type of music becomes fashionable(we can all agree their not punk) Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes, Radiohead, and Grizzly Bear, are all
@AmoebaLandsCraft that are labeled indie bands. To say that any of these bands is uncreative, dumbed-down, or simple minded would be ludicrous(Regadrless of whether you personally like their "sound" or not),as their talent is undeniable. They also truly live up to the DIY and uncoventional nature of earlier indie artist. Radiohead is also a good example of a band achieving mainstream success and still keeping their integrity intact. I am however quite curious as to what bands you like
If you lived in the UK then you would understand considering the '98%' of them are over here, and the other '2%' is from all of the other countries in the world. your a moron if you think that indie rock isn't mainstream.
Every music is mainstream, that happens, when lots of people like it! And this band is not as mainstream as the uncreative, wannabe-shocker-pop-witch-Lady Gaga !!
I love that you, AmoebaLandsCraft, claim that everyone else is "simple minded" yet you can't even spell such basic words like "heard" and "musically"; you're an embarrassment to the UK's education system.
Just because i can't spell too well doesn't mean that i am simple minded, it just shows I'm terrible with grammar. I was only stating that people who like this kind of music are simple minded MUSICALLY - which was in fact spelled correctly. Your too pretentious for you own good - you probably don't even know what my original point was at all - All I was saying was bands with a mainstream sound generally ruin the music industry, if you actually think other wise then your just a fool.
Man - If you really get that pissed off about my grammar then I wouldn't pay attention to my comments. I also hate Americanization. You are a sad person, since you are having a go at my grammar so much and not what I'm actually saying can i have a go at your social life? Thats an obvious flaw of yours.
What you're "saying" is such a load of shit that it's not worth responding to. A song decrying capitalism is the norm for indie rock, is it?
You couldn't have a go at my social life any more than I could yours, or your looks for example as neither of us know about either, but I CAN criticise your spelling as I've seen it - just like you think you can criticise other people's music taste off this song.
It isn't capitalism that is the problem. It is corporatism. Corporatism is the outcome of a love affair between capitalism and socialism. The Federal Reserve must be abolished to put an end to this madness!
Your getting there. Try materialism. Free market works, but materialism whether in the corporatism you speak of or dialectical materialism (communism - socialism: an ideology of envy) must all be destroyed. Socialists are lacking in the study of Hegel too much - your political creeds are materialist also.

Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. There, uh, shrimp kabobs, shrimp creole... shrimp gumbo, panfried, deep fried, stir fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp... shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich... that's, that's about it.

The only reason I brought up your atrocious spelling was because of your blatant snobbishness - clearly you think you're better than people for not listening to TINC - I thought I'd bring you back down to earth by pointing out you can't even spell.
Oh and there's another one,
UK: fag = cigarette
America: fag = homosexual.
You're a joke.
HeadlightMorningGlow 1 year ago
I see your point, these are just things i have become inclined to saying. People like you need to smoke pot.
AmoebaLandsCraft 1 year ago
Smoke pot? POT??!! It's called tac/weed here. You say you hate Americanization yet it's like I'm talking to an American!
HeadlightMorningGlow 1 year ago
I also don't think I'm better than anyone - i just dislike the band and i gave my reasons to why.
AmoebaLandsCraft 1 year ago
No, you then went on to decree every fan "musically simple-minded". That's about as snobbish and up-yourself as you can get.
HeadlightMorningGlow 1 year ago
Pot - I'm not English, I'm Scottish - what we call it where i am. And yes - simple minded because of what these bands are doing to the music industry. If you actually don't agree with anything I'm saying then your just one of them. I can't be arsed talking to a narrow minded prick. If you are actually that blind that you cant see what indie rock does to the music industry then you know nothing about music. - And I don't want a game of last word.
AmoebaLandsCraft 1 year ago
It's funny you can dare call anyone a "narrow minded prick", when all along you've basically worked upon the precedent that anyone who doesn't agree with the music you like = musically simple-minded.
I do think some indie music is destructive but I happen to disagree that TINC fit in with those bands - but then, I'm "one of them" aren't I? So open minded! Laughably hypocritical.
HeadlightMorningGlow 1 year ago 2
You've got your opinion - I've got mine, we're not going to agree. Lets just leave it because its going nowhere.
AmoebaLandsCraft 1 year ago
And in honesty i thought an apparently intelligent person like yourself would understand where I'm coming from.
AmoebaLandsCraft 1 year ago
@AmoebaLandsCraft If you think the music's bland, then that's fair enough - but I can't for the life of me see where you can then deduce anyone who listens to this - and isn't actively discovering for some "musical exploration" - is musically simple-minded.
It's a bonus if the music happens to touch upon a new sound - not the be-all and end-all. I think the lyrical content alone sets it miles apart from average "mainstream" music.
HeadlightMorningGlow 1 year ago 2
I understand, i just get tiered of the same thing - I think Indie rock has gone a bit far. I mean, you as a Brit should know how popular it gets with very little effort.
AmoebaLandsCraft 1 year ago
I don't think i chose the best video to begin my rant - I actually don't think this band has that much mainstream success.
AmoebaLandsCraft 1 year ago
@AmoebaLandsCraft Exactly! Not many indie bands are going for that revolutionary marxism approach. ;-)
If you started it on a Courteeners *shudders* video though, I'd be right there with you...
HeadlightMorningGlow 1 year ago
Yeah - I hate them haha.
AmoebaLandsCraft 1 year ago
Yes, we can agree on one thing: our "indie" scene is disastrous at the moment - full of imitations and indie that's so pop it's a wonder they don't mime at their gigs. It's the "in" thing, so every cunt and their guitar's jumping on the bandwagon.
I just don't think TINC - while not being musically groundbreaking - were looking to imitate anybody specifically to gain popularity or tap into a market.
They're just a rock band who are quite comfortable with their traditional sound.
HeadlightMorningGlow 1 year ago
Headlight, you are dealing with the quintessential music rebel--someone who stops listening to a band once they reach 10 listeners because they have "sold out" and who thinks that in calling people "musically simple minded", we're all going to be intimidated by the sheer non-conformism of the phrase. In other words, Amoeba acts just like the "mainstream". Anything outside of what he/she considers the norm is bad and expects us to follow what he/she says like sheep. The irony of all ironies.
KirbiesandYoshies 1 year ago 3
@KirbiesandYoshies you just said everything i was thinking about these types of people, but i never knew how to say it. nice.
AndrewDaniele87 1 year ago
Oh, you don't listen to music with a "mainstream" sound? And you're the one complaining about unoriginality? Please, your comments reek of the stereotypical elitist "rebel" of internet infamy.
The point of writing music is to express yourself, not to write "hip" music for idiots like yourself to brag about. Also, indie isn't really all that mainstream, and this band helped popularize THIS particular sound. I suggest you drop the pretentiousness. Hell, go and listen to Lady Gaga.
KirbiesandYoshies 1 year ago 3
Indie is incredibly mainstream.
AmoebaLandsCraft 1 year ago
And that would be a problem because...?
KirbiesandYoshies 1 year ago
I didn't say its a problem - i don't like unoriginal music, it gets boring. you said indie isn't all that mainstream, well it is. mainstream doesn't just mean a large fan base it means the sound as well - a mainstream sound being something thats generic, I listen to some massive bands that have completely original sounds and I even like some mainstream bands. All I'm saying is there is other things out there past the boundaries of dumbed down rock. You've missed the point.
AmoebaLandsCraft 1 year ago
@AmoebaLandsCraft Indie Rock describes a very wide array of music these days b/c the term "indie" has come into a favorable light, and is perceived as being "hip'' and "cool". To label it ALL as mainstream, uncreative, and simple-minded is is pretty arrogant. Good Charlotte and Sum 41 being labeled as punk is a good example of what happens when a certain type of music becomes fashionable(we can all agree their not punk) Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes, Radiohead, and Grizzly Bear, are all
MRjmitchell1985 1 year ago
@AmoebaLandsCraft that are labeled indie bands. To say that any of these bands is uncreative, dumbed-down, or simple minded would be ludicrous(Regadrless of whether you personally like their "sound" or not),as their talent is undeniable. They also truly live up to the DIY and uncoventional nature of earlier indie artist. Radiohead is also a good example of a band achieving mainstream success and still keeping their integrity intact. I am however quite curious as to what bands you like
MRjmitchell1985 1 year ago
How can you call a certain genre mainstream? You don't even know 98% of indie acts.
LogInAnders 1 year ago
If you lived in the UK then you would understand considering the '98%' of them are over here, and the other '2%' is from all of the other countries in the world. your a moron if you think that indie rock isn't mainstream.
AmoebaLandsCraft 1 year ago
Every music is mainstream, that happens, when lots of people like it! And this band is not as mainstream as the uncreative, wannabe-shocker-pop-witch-Lady Gaga !!

@AmoebaLandsCraft i hate you
drivermad1 2 years ago
I love that you, AmoebaLandsCraft, claim that everyone else is "simple minded" yet you can't even spell such basic words like "heard" and "musically"; you're an embarrassment to the UK's education system.
HeadlightMorningGlow 1 year ago
Just because i can't spell too well doesn't mean that i am simple minded, it just shows I'm terrible with grammar. I was only stating that people who like this kind of music are simple minded MUSICALLY - which was in fact spelled correctly. Your too pretentious for you own good - you probably don't even know what my original point was at all - All I was saying was bands with a mainstream sound generally ruin the music industry, if you actually think other wise then your just a fool.
AmoebaLandsCraft 1 year ago
LMAO I'm pretentious and yet you think anyone who chooses to listen to this music is "simple-minded musically" - you couldn't make it up.
Oh and by the way, it's "spelt" not "spelled" - another Americanism, and it's you're not your - as in y'know, you+are? Fuck sake.
HeadlightMorningGlow 1 year ago
Man - If you really get that pissed off about my grammar then I wouldn't pay attention to my comments. I also hate Americanization. You are a sad person, since you are having a go at my grammar so much and not what I'm actually saying can i have a go at your social life? Thats an obvious flaw of yours.
AmoebaLandsCraft 1 year ago
What you're "saying" is such a load of shit that it's not worth responding to. A song decrying capitalism is the norm for indie rock, is it?
You couldn't have a go at my social life any more than I could yours, or your looks for example as neither of us know about either, but I CAN criticise your spelling as I've seen it - just like you think you can criticise other people's music taste off this song.

How this dennis go from Refused to this shit?

It conveys the exact same message as refused. I love refused and (i)nc.

I agree. Refused is one of my favorites if not my favorite band of all time, but INC isn't bad.
At the very least you can't help but respect the fact that he writes fantastic songs no matter the genre.
