  • kso; i dont know about anyone else, but everytime i hear one of these on tv, i freak. i know its a test but i mean... damn these are scary. they catch your attention though, so thats good.

  • If this had been an actual emergency, the attention signal you just heard would have been followed by violent explosions, nuclear radiation, and falling debris.

  • we know its a freaking test!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @6891man, About the WXYZ one, maybe. Upload the real (not fake) KSDK 5 St. Louis EBS test.

  • Will someone please post this WXYZ slide that everyone keeps talking about?

  • not as scary as those from now.Born in the 90's but never knew these were ever made.I've only heard them from the 2000s

  • On the fuzzy memories site of vintage Chicago TV. The WMAQ NBC 5 slide is finally up. Compared to this slide when the tone played on KIRO's remained with the opening words. Anyone catches it on Saturday afternoons in the early 1980s on WMAQ. Fuzzymemories what did it show during the tone on NBC Chicago 5 from November 1981?

  • ...If this had been an actual emergency, you would have been vaporized by now anyway, so why even bother.

  • Looks almost like the old WGBH test card used from 198? -1997 (except it was on a red background & white lettering font)

  • What about KOMO ABC channel 4's test slide did any of the users who posted on the comments of KIRO EBS test seen it? I think the Civil Defense logo went to KOMO 4 for Seattle. What did KCPQ 13's test look like?

  • Robatsea2009, what does the EBS tests look like on the Seattle stations other than KIRO CBS 7 and what did each of the slides look like while the tone played I repeat the tone part on the other Seattle TV stations besides KIRO's.

  • I'm sure I saw them way back when, but can't remember any specifics. The last time I saw one played was a year or two back on KSTW.

  • Dorvell, I'm not dealing with the Kansas City tests yet. We're dealing with Seattle stations EBS tests. This is KIRO CBS 7's slide and this station is from Seattle. EBS tests of Seattle I post only about the test cards from Seattle stations KOMO 4, KIRO 7, KCTS 9, KING 5, etc.

  • I think KING 5's slide for the open part might be alike to KIRO's with a different background color. At least I've seen the EAS slide for KING 5. Civil Defense logo for the Seattle's EBS test slides of the '80s went to KOMO ABC channel 4 and the card isn't alike for the whole test.

  • What did it show while the tone played in this video robatsea2009? Did the slide remain?

  • Exactly what you see here in the clip

  • thanx for posting this! any from king 5 or any other station in seattle? i remember this as a kid!

  • closest so far would be KVOS

  • Still looking forward to seeing a Kansas City EBS test...

  • You and I are in the same boat! I'd really like to see one from either KCTV5 or KSHBTV Fox 41!

  • robatsea2009, did you see any EBS test slides from other Seattle stations? If so, what did the slides looked like?

  • I have at different times but that was a long time back, and cannot remember any specifics regarding the slides.

  • Longtime KIRO Radio personality Dave Dolacky does the voiceover here.

  • What did it show at the sounding of the tone of KIRO CBS channel 7 in Seattle slide of 1987 robatsea2009?

  • sorry, I'm not sure exactly what you mean - the clip above aired during a commercial break, and most of the EBS tests I saw tended to look the same.

  • This video when the EBS tone played what did it show?

  • This particular ESB played during the broadcast of a CBS Sports tennis match.

  • It's good to see a "local" test.
