  • "But the clunky unresponsiveness is a feature!!!"

    - Idiot SWTOR BioDrone

  • GW2 FTW!

  • Apparently someone realize on addons to help them play a game lol. Try using the spell que feature in SWTOR you idiot. That will allow you to do the same thing you did in WoW. Lol some people lol!!!

  • Try hitting your heal button AFTER you stopped moving???? Is it so hard.

  • @coobrapd dude....he hit it after he stopped moving.

  • it is called induction skills - so you cant cast them while moving. i love the wow type but prefer SWTOR

  • who gives a fuck?

just play the one you like most :)

  • Even Rift and WAR were more tolerable. I never felt like I was canceling my own ability casts by moving before or after the cast. What makes it all the more disappointing is I expected so much better from Bioware and Star Wars.

  • After playing SWTOR for a month I have come to appreciate WOW tightness. Heck, even my previous MMO, Rift, was much more fluid experience.

  • lol @ all the braindead TOR cocksucking kiddies here who would rather continue stroking the big bioware dick than actually acknowledging that there IS a fucking GAME BREAKING gameplay flaw :D.

nobody here has it out for the old republic you morons. it's these types of videos that will hopefully help FIX the fucking game.

  • @BrownWalrus Never ever in WoW did my mount blow up because I started moving too quickly.

But in this turd game my mount actually BLOWS up if I mount up and start moving as soon as the cast bar is done.

  • Funny thing is all the hate vids that come out are still good press, keep up the hate your only fueling the press generated. Thanks

  • @SithSantos Yeah I'm sure videos showing major flaws in a game are good press. It sure worked for Warhammer Online didn't it? Have fun playing on your ghost town servers.

  • @SithSantos You are really really dumb.

  • @lowenergyions says the inet toughguy lol

  • THIS is what a hate about swtor... Fixed or not I played last night and its just not a smooth combat feel... I'm burned out on wow but if I was brand new to both games WoW would win ez. I know swtor just came out but u gotta be on par with what's out... You wouldn't buy a new comp that cost the same as ur old one but doesnt preform as good even if it would be twiked later on...

  • @amg579 Yes, but comparing it with Wow Vanilla (which means ONLY Wow) is one thing....people keep on comparing SWTOR to WOW+BC+WOTLK+CATACLYSM. That's stuff you pay.

  • Jenartik you suck balls you fucking troll go back to wow kid

  • @madhorde Fucking cocksucker, is that the best you have ? "GO back to wow"

How is that even an insult you feces eater? On a video that shows how fucking broken and SHIT SWTOR combat is, you tell someone to go back to WoW?

Good one bro. you must be real proud of yourself.

  • @lowenergyions biodrones gonna drone

  • Fuck playing either one of these games the fanboy war for both these games are more entertaining and won't cost me 15 dollars a month.

  • All you SWTOR HATERS CAN GO FUCK THEMSELVES!! Go back to that piece of shit mmo they call wow. SWTOR > WOW bitches. FUck off to your pandas now

  • @madhorde swtor sucks balls bro. deal with it

  • @madhorde Pandas>you

  • Look the bottom line is this is the most money ever spent to make a video game in the history of our human species. And we get huttball, horrid auction house, British voice actors telling us to get 30 rancor claws, then a BONUS mission to get an additional 60 rancor claws, Space combat is a joke, faction imbalance out the wazoo, ability delay oh jesus the ability delay, and on and on and on. If they spent about 10-20 mil on this game I could forgive it but over 200 MILLION?! Unforgivable.

  • @idonotcollectstamps then dont play it if you dont like it you fucking retard wow fanboy. We the true SW fans love it so you can go fuck yourself or fuck one of them pandas

  • @idonotcollectstamps Tell me the exact mission to get 30 claws, I bet it doesnt even exist, thats why there are bonus missions, so you dont have to grind.

  • @idonotcollectstamps fuck offff!

  • @idonotcollectstamps you're like a terd on the ass whining about having a reason to exist...

  • @idonotcollectstamps "the bottom line"

    END OF LINE

  • TOR will sink because what they done is a single player game with a few instances and that is not going to hold people because it already lacking the Ms of MMO, its not massive (sorry 30 people is not massive) and its not multiplayer because the only time people will be doing it is for heroics, nobody will raid since there is no point to raiding and flashpoints will only be funny for a while. the Single Players will leave when they are done with the Story quest.

  • @drakron TOR is more of an mmo than WoW is now idiot, look at heroics/flashpoints/warzones/operations, chat channels, servers. More shit than wow has ever dreamed off

  • Those arguing that this doesn't exist or those who don't want it changed are not really looking for an MMORPG experience, they are looking for an interactive novel. Unfortunately, that's exactly how SWTOR feels right now. Story is great. Voice acting is great. Immersion is great.

However, those of us who want to actually PLAY the game, rather than watch an interactive novel, are encountering problems that ruin the fun of playing. Ball's in BioWare's court now, though.

  • This delay coupled with the fact that Bioware made all the Republic skills weaker than the Imperial versions is really making sure that this game fails hard. Bioware doesn't adress any problems and they only patch the most useless stuff in. It's like they have no idea how things are supposed to operate. Stay clear of this game folks, until it goes F2P.

  • TORTANIC? TORTANIC! Free to play in two months. Biggest blunder in the last decade of gaming. 200 Million dollars straight into the shitter. What a let down. At least TERA, Guild Wars 2 Diablo 3 and anything else is coming out. All they took was my 60 dollars (and my heart).

  • @idonotcollectstamps Have you even heard of Shadowbane, Age of Conan, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, DC Universe Online, Lord of the Rings Online, or Tabula Rasa? The biggest blunder in a decade of gaming? REALLY?!

  • @AlmightySimian Tabula Rasa. :(

  • @idonotcollectstamps You have not played TERA or GW2. And even then, people played TOR before release and loved it. For all you know, TERA, GW2, Secret World, and all the other upcoming MMOs will also fail.

  • @idonotcollectstamps Yeah, because it's written in stone that those aren't going to fail. Say, can I ask what MMO you came from, I think I have a faint idea which one it might be.

  • animations do not have priority in most cases. animations are actually cut short when an ability is used in rapid succession or when it's used after a particular ability. a lot of the delayed effects in this game are intended and negligible. if people are freaking out over a half-second then they can go play the shitty EQ clone that's been out for 7 years.

  • @supertouchme So almost EVERYONE should quit your beloved SWTOR to leave you and a few people behind to play it?

People have a legit gripe with this particular problem. It gets more severe the higher level you go where speed and accuracy count the most. A half a second can cost you your life in the game and it take only 3 deaths before your fixing your gear again which at lvl 30 alone costs 4k...Yeah not much but it racks up when the Ability Delay plays its part in your death.

  • @supertouchme trollolol

  • What's that cool funk music in the second half of the video!

  • @BarringtonDailey It's swtor cantine-music. :)

  • ffs just turn on ability queue and stfu about it. It will cast when it's ready to cast. Everyone else has to do the same thing it's not like there is an inbalance.

  • you're not doing the ability lag justice, what you are doing in swtor is trying to move as soon as you cast the ability, in WOW you are moving as soon as your ability ends, however i do agree that there is ability delay in swtor...but this isnt it.

  • There's no such thing as floating better. It either floats, or it sinks. If you need touch ups for it to 'float better' then it's actually slowly sinking.

  • Dont be so harsh on TOR. The game just came out obviously its gonna have a few flaws every pc game nowadays is buggy when its first released. WOW on the other hand has been out for years and gets updated all the time so most of these issues have been fixed by now. In fact the only game i know about that gets updated more than wow is Team Fortress 2 Im not trying to be biased im trying to say dont be so harsh on TOR it just came out.

  • @xDXPxJOEx456x1

Thats like talking about a boat, saying

"Oh, it just got out of the dock, its bound to have a few gaping holes in it"

  • @mertymert67 Boats are made to float, and as far as I know, the game is currently floating. It may need some touch-ups to make it float better, but none-the-less, it's floating.

  • You cannot move and heal at the same time in SWTOR. God I'm glad I'm not playing as a healer class.

  • @mcavinue01 You can't in WoW either by default. The point is though that in SWTOR the animations have the highest priority. So for the sake of letting it look good, you're playing a game that doesn't feel good.

A great example is mounting and trying to move as the cast finishes. Works in WoW, but not in SWTOR. I have to wait another 0.5 seconds after mounting for the animation to finish and THEN i can move. I tell you now, these kind of mechanical flaws kill MMO's.

  • @Foxx2405 It has nothing to do with the animation. I've tested it myself with healing spells. All that matters is that the cast bar must start to fade before you cast another spell, unless you have enabled spell queuing. I have a spell queue of 1s and never suffer ANY spell delays. Without queuing you just have to get used to having the cast actually fully finish, because in WoW, the server has realized your cast before it is actually finished. In SWTOR, it is different. Maybe better.

  • @KualaSC how do you enable spell queueing?

  • @Foxx2405 I must have mounted up in WoW over 300,000 times. WAY over. (5 years played!)

But if we take the lower estimate of 300,000, and if SWtOR didn't have the additional 0.5 sec delay when mounting, I could save:

    41.66 hours of time.

That's right. An entire 1 day and (almost) 17 hours of my life could be spent simply getting my character up on to his or her in-game mount if it had ToR slowness! And that is being generous!

  • @Hirotoro4692

Mounting used to take 3 seconds in WoW. Why don't you factor in how much time we save with a 0.5 mount time second plus up to a 0.5 second delay, it is typically not half a second.

  • @Foxx2405

Funny part is it does not even look good, The combat animations are clunky and poorly done. Maybe it has something to do with the entire art and animation department being outsourced to india contractors at the lowest bidder (No joke)

  • @mcavinue01 It effects ALL classes. animations have to finish before the next ability (IE spell) can "cast" or be used. this problem killed warhammer. bioware needs to act now or enjoy its sinking dingy

  • @Lovelymuffins12 "It effects ALL classes. animations have to finish before ..."

That's simply not true at all.. I have a 47 juggernaut, 34 operative, 25 sorc and few lvl 10-20s.. the "animation lag" only effects certain move combinations with 1 or 2 of the classes I've played.. personally I only really notice it on my juggernaut when trying to interrupt after I've used a particular other ability (interrupt is off GDC so is always being used during other animations without issue)

  • Basically what you are showing is that casting an ability immediately after a movement will not work because the game (or server) thinks you are still moving.

  • Yeah it's sad that the big Bioware fanboys aren't actually helping the game at all by defending them on every issue. People who complain about issues like this actually want to make the game better. This is not a 'I want SWTOR to be WoW in space', it's just that combat in WoW is so responsive and you feel in control of your character which no other MMO to date (that I've played) has gotten right, I loved playing Lotro & Rift but clunky combat made me not resub those.

  • Only playing TOR in a few months will be people who don't care about combat.

Which is all bioware fanboys. Which is very few people.

    Enjoy your warhammer 2.0

  • @LyubenV The devs are already looking into this matter, WoW at first didnt have the smoothness it has today, Considering the money EA and bioware put into this... I think its safe to say that they will redo and fix it.

  • @NoBuddy89

Lol I love to make shit up.

WoW did have smoothness it did today. And even if it was not as good as 2011 WoW it was miles ahead of 2011 TOR. Please stop making shit up.

And this is 2011. You want me to wait 7 years to get as good as WoW? Fuck you. I want to play a good game today, if you are willing to wait 7 years and spend that much money to get TOR as good as WoW, go ahead. No sane person however will do that. I expect TOR to be as or better than WoW NOW. NOW. NOW.

  • @LyubenV and people who like star wars want the animations to look right and/or never played an mmo which is very many people

Enjoy your retarded blizzard fanboy self

  • @meinnase

Hahaha, you are trying to suggest that I play MMOs. No, fuck pay to play. I might try your shitty dating sim when it goes free to play though.

  • @meinnase lol No that is not "a very many people"

  • @LyubenV And Bioware is patching it now.

  • @YouNube5

Don't see it in the 1.1 patch notes i'm afraid.

  • @LyubenV Its on the forums. Under General Discussion. They announced that they are working on it because they realize that the issue seperates the good mmo's from the bad. This isn't an issue that can be fixed so easily, may need to wait a little bit. Could be end of this month though.

  • @YouNube5

Can you point me to the part of the patch notes of 1.1 where it says they are fixing the problem? Because if it ain't in the notes ,their words mean nothing.

  • @LyubenV You not listen? It's under FORUMS, subcat- GENERAL DISCUSSION. Just becauses its getting patched doesn't mean its in 1.1....

And the words do mean something since this forum post was by like the technical director dude.

  • @YouNube5

1.1 is the first major patch.

So if it ain't getting patched there, It means it will be patched in months. So, months.

  • @LyubenV Now you're just trolling. It's been less than a month since release and its getting patch I think on the 10th. And you say it will be months? smh You are stupid.

  • @LyubenV

Hey Mr. all-knowin-oracle, can you tell me what the lotto numbers are next week? I could use the money.

  • @Supajayare

You are the one predicting things. I see nothing in the patches and you are telling me that "oh it will be fixed dont worry". Till I see some patch notes, your claim is worth jack shit.

  • Comment removed

  • @LyubenV

"warhammer 2.0" pretty much sums it up. Bioware is repeating the exact same mistakes that mythic made and than some.

  • @LyubenV go enjoy ur pandas u fucking wow blizzard asskisser fanboy

  • @madhorde

hahaha, you are so mad. I don't fucking play WoW. I don't play any MMOs anymore. But I can see massilve shitty fail when I see it. And this is a failed and dying MMO. I last played WoW in 2008, and it had more content and better mechanics than this piece of shit released at the end of 2011. But please, do defend why you think something in 2012 should be as good as something in 2004.
