that shield looks REALLY light. what is the core/padding made out of?

Coreless, with an " H " of PVC for stability. The foam is dock planking foam from buried in my dads garage for years...
I hate it. I like good heavy straps.

That's nifty. I plan on making a couple of spears this summer, so I'll put this kind of pommel on them. It should definitely help with my short spear.
