alright, i'll give Kratos credit, the guy is pretty tough...I have to admit that Hades must be extremely frustrated by now that he's managed to escape the Underworld twice which I suppose makes Hades look like a bit of a slacker who cant keep souls down there in his domain and the only reason that Kratos was able to keep pace with Zeus in God of War 2 was because of The Blade of Olympus and he still couldnt overpower him until he pretended to give up and Zeus let his guard down for the moment
Zeus did the same thing to Kratos. He wasn't strong enough, so he took all his powers and made him fight mortal against a gigantic foe. Then finished the job when he was completely weak. I'll admit, maybe at the end you're right, he couldn't finish him off, but that might be because Kratos has only partial Titan powers, while Zeus is a full grown God. I guess maybe Kratos just wanted to get revenge the same way Zeus had done his damage, by cheating. It's only fair, ya know?

Actually Kratos is a pussy (AKA coward). Just because someone knows how to fight, and put himself in physical danger, doesnt mean that they are brave. Kratos is good at fighting, and has no natural fear of danger, thats why killing comes easy for him. But when it comes to his own wrongs about what hes done to his family and others in the past, he runs away from it every chance he gets, and blames others for his own faults. Okay...in which case Kratos *is* brave because he sacrificed the one thing he wanted most (see Chains of Olympus) because he knew that he'd lose it if he tried to keep it. He could have sat back and died embracing his daughter, but instead he turned his back on her to save her, even if it meant he could never be with her.

When we take into accout the whole series, we basically have a man who kills, cuts up and blames others for troubles he's really heaped upon himself. He kills any monster or even god opposing him but he completely avoids the fact that his biggest worry and fear resides within his own heart, that is self-forgiveness. From the sequels it's safe to say he has disregarded that completely.

If you think God of War has an awesome story, you have had a very poor sampling. I would say that GoW has alot of potential for a great story, but the story that it has is underdeveloped and lacking in details. The game is fun, but like HALO, it ends rather quickly and does not come close to alot of other games, particularly rpg's. gameplay is fun but mindlessness gets repetitive after awhile. the best part of these games is the graphics and the greek mythology
again,they have great potential.The plotline was good,and thats what alot of people call story.but story includes plotline and characters,and the only character with real personality is Kratos.the others are just sorta there as either villains or people begging for Kratos' help. if they remake the game ever, or if they make the movie, im sure they will improve on the characters to make things more interesting. its still a good game though, don't get me wrong.theres just some room for improvement
What is there to compare with Halo and God of War? One is a FPS set in the future, and one is a third person hack and slash, set in ancient greek mythology.

i just completed god of war and it is an awesome game but some of the challenges in the game felt cheap such as the spike tower which was annoying if know what i mean lol and the small box u had to push fast enough so the archers dont destroy it at the beginning. i am thinking of getting god of war 2 now but i dont know if i should lol as the challenges might be more frustrating and abit too annoying lol.

Probably good to borrow it first, but whether it's replayable or not (I think it is) doesent matter, because it's something that you SHOULD own. It's money well spent.
trust me its an awsome game after you complete it you unlock titan mode you unlock bonus play new costumes urns of power and you can go back to the game with all your unlocked weapons

I checked the page again (just refreshed it) and saw a new post. Out of all the recent posts here, yes, it did sound like it was coming to my original post even without it being sent personally to me. No worries. I'm confused who you meant those for now but I guess this isn't of paramount importance now is it?

Okay...in which case Kratos *is* brave because he sacrificed the one thing he wanted most (see Chains of Olympus) because he knew that he'd lose it if he tried to keep it. He could have sat back and died embracing his daughter, but instead he turned his back on her to save her, even if it meant he could never be with her.
He's still a douche, don't get me wrong, but you can hardly accuse him of being cowardly. Stupid, perhaps, foolhardy, definitely, but not cowardly.

When we take into accout the whole series, we basically have a man who kills, cuts up and blames others for troubles he's really heaped upon himself. He kills any monster or even god opposing him but he completely avoids the fact that his biggest worry and fear resides within his own heart, that is self-forgiveness. From the sequels it's safe to say he has disregarded that completely.

There's a fine line between tragic hero (sympathizer) an anti-hero (practically a villain but still likable), and someone like Kratos, who is utterly unlikable in everything he does, and therefore a terrible protagonist for all reasons save his combat ability.

Exactly. I find it hard to see why people LIKE the guy so much. He's not a hero, he's not even an anti-hero. What are Kratos' redeemable qualities? None whatsoever. As the audience how the fuck do we say "yeah, in Kratos' shoes, If that were me, I'd do the exact same thing." ?!? Hopefully, we can't and we don't. The guy is a TERRIBLE protagonist because he makes it impossible to actually sympathize with him. (Looking @ series as whole). Whats left to say? Just a brutal killer out to dominate.

yeah, he got what he deserved by zeus because athena tried to warn him to quit pissing off the rest of olympus and he continually thumbed his nose at the gods with his continued defiance when he could have served zeus like the rest of the gods and regained his godhood and his life would be easy as a god but he chose the hard way instead and zeus was left with no other choice but to give the defiant kratos exactly what he deserved; the honor of being snuffed out by the king of the gods himself

Guys at the end of the day nobody is right cos at the end of the day its all about POWER. everyone wants to be the supreme ruler. cronos overthrown his father and zues did the same to him, ares prob wud av done the same so they got Kratos to take him out. They shud av broght kratos family back to life if possible but if not then they shud av not lied to him tht they wud remove those memories. If you think God of War has an awesome story, you have had a very poor sampling. I would say that GoW has alot of potential for a great story, but the story that it has is underdeveloped and lacking in details. The game is fun, but like HALO, it ends rather quickly and does not come close to alot of other games, particularly rpg's. gameplay is fun but mindlessness gets repetitive after awhile. the best part of these games is the graphics and the greek mythology

God of War 1's story was great. God of War 2 was a fun game, but it's story was lacking a bit.
I don't think it's even fair to compare Halo and God of War. It's apples and oranges.

again,they have great potential.The plotline was good,and thats what alot of people call story.but story includes plotline and characters,and the only character with real personality is Kratos.the others are just sorta there as either villains or people begging for Kratos' help. if they remake the game ever, or if they make the movie, im sure they will improve on the characters to make things more interesting. its still a good game though, don't get me wrong.theres just some room for improvement

chronologically, it goes chains of olympus (psp), god of war, god of war 2,(ps2 for both) god of war 3(ps3) thats not the order they were made though

i just completed god of war and it is an awesome game but some of the challenges in the game felt cheap such as the spike tower which was annoying if know what i mean lol and the small box u had to push fast enough so the archers dont destroy it at the beginning. i am thinking of getting god of war 2 now but i dont know if i should lol as the challenges might be more frustrating and abit too annoying lol.

It would have been nice, but its more interesting to fight little sized in a mostly intact city rather then a big pile of rubble.
