For those who don't realise, this drum solo has so much depth to it. Its extremely well composed. Look at how he transitions between various thematic ideas to build a very interesting drum story. And his use of dynamics is to build up the solo is just mind boggling. To be able to compose such a work of art on the go is just staggering to me.

I suggest doing research before you label one of the greatest percussionist and composers a clown. Ralph Mac Donald was on the road and recording with Harry Belafonte by the age of 17, He has also written songs that have become hits for Danny Hathaway, Roberta Flack, and Grover Washington Jr, as well as playing on soundtracks for television and movies. Not only is he a great musician but also a humanitarian and fun loving person; maybe that is why you think he's a clown.
