The first run of copies are being housed in a cardboard gatefold cover, just like the original album (but smaller, obviously!). Nice idea, but I should imagine that it won't last long with too much handling. Better to wait for the standard plastic case when it becomes available, I think.
@neonrider93 I know that's how it has been issued for now, but I'm sure I read somewhere that the "record sleeve" packaging was just a limited edition, and when this stock runs out, the set will be sold in the standard plastic CD case we're all familiar with. I actually prefer the cardboard sleeve, as I've lost count of how many plastic double CD cases I've had that have broken in such a way that the discs, plus the inner plastic flap that keeps them in place, fall out when you open the case.
"Martin"? I don't remember those shops. Crap name, no wonder they're not around now. Now 1 is the best "pop" compilation album in existence. 1983, great year for pop.
The 'Now That's...' series is (at the time of writing) up to volume 69 here in the UK. I used to buy each one (on vinyl!), though I haven't bought one for years now, and I haven't wanted to, with all the rubbish that's in the charts these days.
god im only 12 and i have all the now collection 1-67 and i dont half of the songs on 1-20 i know the rest though i agree they are taking the mikey keep going on with the nows cant they just stop ......... well they are a now thats what i call music 100 lol
OMG I remember this classic first of its kind double-LP compilation of the then-Greatest Hits which are, of course, classics today! The packaging, liner notes for each of the tracks, pictures and the mastering is impeccable! Many of the Number One and Top 10 hits from 1983! Love it!! Thanks for posting this! It has been that long and it all seems like yesterday!
I don't think anyone would have believed that the series would still be going today, or that the US equivalent series would be just as successful (albeit not launching until 15 years after the UK one).
Nor did I mate. What are we into now? Is it Volume 67? Please EMI/Virgin, if you're reading this then listen, it's been nearly half a century now and the joke is now well and truly worn out. ENOUGH!! Mike S, 15 in 1983.
Now that's what i used to call music!

Gary Crowley - I'd recognise that voice anywhere! He's a DJ on Greater London Radio, plays indie punk-type music!!
