All added up the total is almost 3,000 kills just from the snipers mentioned in this video. It is interesting that the first sniper mentioned, Anatoly Chekov, had more kills than Zaitsev, yet is not mentioned much. Must have been because of the famous duel with the German sniper.

Zaitsev killed 40 Germans in his first 10 days fighting in Stalingrad,and the battle for Stalingrad only lasted roughly 5 months - Zaitsev fought about 4 months in the battle. Hi, I have seen him with a few different rifles, the Mosin Nagant 91/30 with PU scope as shown in this video,a Mosin 91/30 with PEM scope,and I have 4 photos of him with a svt40 sniper rifle - All rifles have a hero plaque on the butt stock. The 91/30 PU now is in the Moscow Armed forces museum-its cracked in half though from when he was killed in action
