  • This is a video for "Intro" & not Suite or Live Right?

  • I like intro but it does have too many limitations, i dont like how i can only use up to 8 scenes and can't "group" tracks :(

  • no matter what i click on,,i get this video,,i cant get answers, lol.i have live lite 8(it came with focusrite interface) if i buy the intro version for 136 bux,,will i have more than 8 tracks?? not scenes,,tracks.someone help

  • @mummylips yes - you can have unlimited MIDI tracks and up to 64 Audio tracks in a Live Set with Live Intro. For more on how Live Intro and Live 8 compare, please see this chart: ableton.com/pages/live_8/comparison_chart/live_intro

  • @AbletonInc Thanks,,I love ableton.I made some gr8 demos with ease but, just needed to expand a tad

  • Guitar sounds like a cat getting sick

  • The guitarist at 0:19 is really good

  • i just bought this and its taking over five hrs to authorize. is this normal?

  • Is the this the same version as the APC 20 version? or is it a more limited version?

  • I Wanna b in the family !!

  • so is it really worht the 100 bucks?

  • @CCMrJones yes

what kind of music do u wanna use it for?

  • I feel that it was worth every penny. Unfortunately it only gives you a taste of what it can do! When I bought it I knew nothing about Ableton and wasn't sure if I'd like or understand how it worked. I now have the full version and love it even more. If you aren't sure if you'll like the DAW the I'd highly suggest getting intro. A $100.00 isn't a lot of money to most people, so invest in yourself! I'm sure you'll love it!!! - Curley

  • my main purpose is to play live with record/reason...

how limited is Live intro in this respect ?

is someone using it with reason?

whats the difference/limitation when using live8 with reason vs live intro with reason?

    someone help me decide

  • 89pounds!

  • Want

  • So just how limited is the intro version? I looked at their comparison chart but without descriptions for what each thing is it's hard to tell how limited it is.

Can I still get good workflow without looper?

  • Yes you can, but the limitations can be head ache. You'll find that you have to bounce down a lot of your tracks due to clip limitations!

  • Hi ableton i wonder if you can help me, at 0:48 it looks like your slowing down the song. Im recording an automated drum track, i want the last beat of the bar of the track to change from 255 bpm to a slower bpm, how can i do this so that once i finish the track, the tempo changes automatically...also how can i do this tempo change without the change affecting the whole track? ANY help would be very appreciated! Cheers Ableton.

  • You simply adjust both via controller or or mouse as the track plays!

  • I bought Live 8 Intro and I can't find a way to Export a Scene... I have say 8 scenes, I want to export them each to a WAV file...

  • how first time user friendly is this software? im considering to get the live intro version, but im not sure.

  • download the demo from their website ;)

  • It doesn't take very long to get used to. Ableton Live, in my opinion, is a very user friendly software, even for newer users.

The first time that I used the software, I had the basics figured out within an hour at most. If you're not used to music softwares, it may take a little longer. Otherwise, it's very user friendly.

I highly recommend it. Live Intro comes with a ton of instruments in different varieties.

  • Intro is Ableton responding to the rush of complaints about the insipid LE. It's still crippleware, but at least they listen. Just wish their stuff wasn't so expensive. For what Live costs, it should come with Sampler, I can't believe that's extra when Express comes with EXS and other instruments.

  • Abletons marketing strategy for its entry level product is downright insulting when you compare it to what Apple does with Logic Express core functionality is the same, except for a few features and a lot more bundled content.

Cakewalk also changed their ways and Sonar Home Studio is still a great value compared to the full blown versions.

    Sad

  • lol the maximum amount of tracks and scenes is ridiculous in live intro. it's enough for like... half a song.

  • Best DAW... in the world!!!

  • you damn right!

  • That's right :D

  • I think its just some knd of sound library also with customized effects to add like plugins....

  • Ableton Live Lite, Ableton Live LE and now Ableton Live intro? I am confused :S

  • what´s the difference between Ableton Live 8 and Ableton Live Intro? =D

  • ...its an intro TO Ableton Live

  • ok yeah but I´m still confused, why would ableton make an Intro version? they had already made Live 8, suite 8 and LE, it´s the same software, the same instruments, the same effects, so, what´s the difference? the library? =D cheers

  • This software is very cool... at least the demo is. :P

  • I like the warp feature in Ableton Live 8. I would like to co - design the new warp feature on Ableton Live 9.

    This software is amazing.

    Praise the Lord.

  • ableton>fl studio

  • Love Ableton with all my heart.

    And love Jazzy

  • I LOVE THIS COMPANY

  • Nice..

  • live ftw.

  • Should the guitars, drums and amps also be free before you participate in Metallica world tour?

  • It costs money to produce each guitar/amp/drum, while you can give away 100, or 100,000 copies of ableton at no extra cost.

  • You know whats an unbeatable price? Free!

Say yes to pirating - give ableton for free to young artists that can't afford it!

  • Look, there IS a free demo version with which artists can produce (given they have enough brains to do so)

I don't think I ever payed for software, and admittedly, I didn't pay for Live either, but I did however get a box with stickers and a user manual (the least I could do given my income)

I can't even imagine how much work and innovative ideas the Ableton team has put into their product, and that's exactly the reason why I'm going to demand a legitimate copy of Live for my first performance.

  • Well, I would like some live stickers. and I agree about the first performance thing - when you make money using someones product, they should make money. Before you make money, it should be free

  • Well who said I was going to take money?

The fact that my performance is realized, is made possible with Ableton Live and me. Paying for it is just one of many ways how I can show my deepest gratitude.

  • Markok = kok

  • dont comment here no more motherfucker

  • Lol I think you need help.

  • No, I just need $500 to waste on a piece of software that takes me less time to download than to go to the store and buy

  • you obviously havent used the k'ed versions of live. they timebomb after a few months and crash the hell out of you.

just stop being a cheapass and man up and buy the stuff if you really use it :)

  • I can't afford a fucking Korg Kaossilator right now - you think I have the money for Ableton?!

And my cracked version is running just fine.

  • then that's your own damn fault, my friend. the kaossilator aint expensive...

  • Sure is, we're not all rich DJs who have part time jobs. Why don't you get me a kaossilator since you're so rich then?

  • uh i'm not rich. i just buy the things that I use because they help me. it's called investment bud.

  • Well I'm not a professional producer - so I can't 'invest' money, because I won't make money off it. If I had money to get things that would 'help' me, as you call it. I would

  • ah i see, then i take back what i said. u know that you can bounce tracks in the demo versions too, right?

  • Save you mean? Yeah, but the full version is just simpler.

Tis one of the reasons I also have windows on my mac.

  • yea "bounce" is an export.

and dang, that kinda sucks, my mbp starts to overheat in xp pro, as bootcamp still sucks at heat management

  • At least you have bootcamp, and a mbp instead of a mb - mine keeps saying stuff about unmovable files, and therefore its not letting me partition the drive for bootcamp. You have no idea how slow Ableton is in parallels, and how often it freezes.

  • Dude a Kaossilator is a toy. Real dj epuipment say cdj 1000 are $1500.00 a piece. A allen and health mixer $2000.00 and so on and so on. I bought a Kaossilator for $120.00 I love it, but it's still a toy. Ableton is the best software for production of music.

  • Kaossilator is a real instrument. And I can't even afford one. :( Send me yours?

  • you are 110% right in everything you said

    cheers :D
