no matter what i click on,,i get this video,,i cant get answers, lol.i have live lite 8(it came with focusrite interface) if i buy the intro version for 136 bux,,will i have more than 8 tracks?? not scenes,,tracks.someone help
@mummylips yes - you can have unlimited MIDI tracks and up to 64 Audio tracks in a Live Set with Live Intro. For more on how Live Intro and Live 8 compare, please see this chart: ableton.com/pages/live_8/comparison_chart/live_intro
I feel that it was worth every penny. Unfortunately it only gives you a taste of what it can do! When I bought it I knew nothing about Ableton and wasn't sure if I'd like or understand how it worked. I now have the full version and love it even more. If you aren't sure if you'll like the DAW the I'd highly suggest getting intro. A $100.00 isn't a lot of money to most people, so invest in yourself! I'm sure you'll love it!!! - Curley
So just how limited is the intro version? I looked at their comparison chart but without descriptions for what each thing is it's hard to tell how limited it is.
Hi ableton i wonder if you can help me, at 0:48 it looks like your slowing down the song. Im recording an automated drum track, i want the last beat of the bar of the track to change from 255 bpm to a slower bpm, how can i do this so that once i finish the track, the tempo changes automatically...also how can i do this tempo change without the change affecting the whole track? ANY help would be very appreciated! Cheers Ableton.
It doesn't take very long to get used to. Ableton Live, in my opinion, is a very user friendly software, even for newer users.
The first time that I used the software, I had the basics figured out within an hour at most. If you're not used to music softwares, it may take a little longer. Otherwise, it's very user friendly.
I highly recommend it. Live Intro comes with a ton of instruments in different varieties.
Intro is Ableton responding to the rush of complaints about the insipid LE. It's still crippleware, but at least they listen. Just wish their stuff wasn't so expensive. For what Live costs, it should come with Sampler, I can't believe that's extra when Express comes with EXS and other instruments.
Abletons marketing strategy for its entry level product is downright insulting when you compare it to what Apple does with Logic Express core functionality is the same, except for a few features and a lot more bundled content.
Cakewalk also changed their ways and Sonar Home Studio is still a great value compared to the full blown versions.
ok yeah but I´m still confused, why would ableton make an Intro version? they had already made Live 8, suite 8 and LE, it´s the same software, the same instruments, the same effects, so, what´s the difference? the library? =D cheers
Look, there IS a free demo version with which artists can produce (given they have enough brains to do so)
I don't think I ever payed for software, and admittedly, I didn't pay for Live either, but I did however get a box with stickers and a user manual (the least I could do given my income)
I can't even imagine how much work and innovative ideas the Ableton team has put into their product, and that's exactly the reason why I'm going to demand a legitimate copy of Live for my first performance.
Well, I would like some live stickers. and I agree about the first performance thing - when you make money using someones product, they should make money. Before you make money, it should be free
The fact that my performance is realized, is made possible with Ableton Live and me. Paying for it is just one of many ways how I can show my deepest gratitude.
Well I'm not a professional producer - so I can't 'invest' money, because I won't make money off it. If I had money to get things that would 'help' me, as you call it. I would
At least you have bootcamp, and a mbp instead of a mb - mine keeps saying stuff about unmovable files, and therefore its not letting me partition the drive for bootcamp. You have no idea how slow Ableton is in parallels, and how often it freezes.
Dude a Kaossilator is a toy. Real dj epuipment say cdj 1000 are $1500.00 a piece. A allen and health mixer $2000.00 and so on and so on. I bought a Kaossilator for $120.00 I love it, but it's still a toy. Ableton is the best software for production of music.
This is a video for "Intro" & not Suite or Live Right?

I like intro but it does have too many limitations, i dont like how i can only use up to 8 scenes and can't "group" tracks :(

Can I still get good workflow without looper?
SparkySubie 2 years ago
Yes you can, but the limitations can be head ache. You'll find that you have to bounce down a lot of your tracks due to clip limitations!

You simply adjust both via controller or or mouse as the track plays!

lol the maximum amount of tracks and scenes is ridiculous in live intro. it's enough for like... half a song.

Should the guitars, drums and amps also be free before you participate in Metallica world tour?
5LiquidSoul 2 years ago
It costs money to produce each guitar/amp/drum, while you can give away 100, or 100,000 copies of ableton at no extra cost.
Markok765 2 years ago
You know whats an unbeatable price? Free!
Say yes to pirating - give ableton for free to young artists that can't afford it!

you obviously havent used the k'ed versions of live. they timebomb after a few months and crash the hell out of you.
just stop being a cheapass and man up and buy the stuff if you really use it :)

I can't afford a fucking Korg Kaossilator right now - you think I have the money for Ableton?!
And my cracked version is running just fine.
Markok765 2 years ago
then that's your own damn fault, my friend. the kaossilator aint expensive...
cavalier777 2 years ago
Sure is, we're not all rich DJs who have part time jobs. Why don't you get me a kaossilator since you're so rich then?

uh i'm not rich. i just buy the things that I use because they help me. it's called investment bud.

Tis one of the reasons I also have windows on my mac.
Markok765 2 years ago
yea "bounce" is an export.
and dang, that kinda sucks, my mbp starts to overheat in xp pro, as bootcamp still sucks at heat management
