  • The Greatest Anime set to the Best Song.

  • This one deserves all credit, the opus has better sync but the scene selection in this one is almost perfect. I just wonder why are those last 2 scenes with Asuka's arrival and Rei's slap.

  • Wow, it's still better than the AMVs made in these days (except the quality)

And that version of the song is diferent too...cool

  • its almost fun to watch unit 01 go berserker...

  • @animefreakdk97 WHEN DID I POST THIS?

  • This is an amazing piece of AMV history :,D I'd love to see it 'remastered,' like the same video but done digitally (just for picture quality, nobody had that kinda technology in the 90's.)

  • I preffer the original.... the history line is a lil distorted.. in the remake...

  • OH SHI- I knew Andy McCorkle... ran the anime club screenings at a school I went to in Raleigh... forgot all about this

  • Did you go to Science and Math? This is Andy by the way...........

  • i honestly like the one by ShonenDizzyCow much more, but thats just me. overall, this one is pretty good overall though, i admit.

  • this is great but anyone know the song the fault of the flesh by nevermore i could make the sickest evangelion amv to that song if i wasnt so computer illiterate and knew how to do it

  • wow pretty cool

  • masterpiece

  • the best amv ever

  • the beast amv make ever

  • i aplaud the effort

  • Greatest AMV ever made.

This is coming from someone who doesn't particularly like AMVs. I find most to be really poor, but this is just stunning. The timing of the clips to the music is flawless and captivating.

  • I think this might as well be the first AMV ever made

  • great

  • I have no idea how the hell you edited this using only a VCR... great job man. I can ignore the scratchy sound in the background due to the fact that this is one of the most epic AMVs evrar.

  • Easy cum ... *laughs to myself*

  • Two words as bluntly I can express my opinion on this. Holy. Shit. This may be one of these best AMVs I have ever seen. Shonen Production's version had a much more intense action sequence when the solo riff broke out, but whatever. From the beautiful and artistic synching with the combined editing with two VCRs, this AMV really takes the cake. I can't even begin to comprehend how hard this must have been to make. But the creator definitely deserves that win. I mean it to the fullest.

  • btw you should put spoilers in the headline. not to be a spoil sport but you know, lol just in case.

  • Evangelion originally came out in 1995. The statute of limitations for this particular series has probably ended.

  • ya but it wasnt until 3 yrs ago did i see the end you know. im just saying. if someone saw this vid and had no idea this was the movie then they watch the movie im sure theyd be pretty ticked off it was ruined for them

  • best AMV ever.

  • la verdad muy bien echo. esta bien cordinado muy bien la musica con el video. muy groso!!!!!

  • definitely it's the best amv ever i wish i can have this one on my mp4

  • holy shit.... VCR to VCR... must've been difficult!

  • Muy bonito, bien tranqui ja!

  • great vid must of taken ages to make

  • Great work! Beautiful song and beautiful show!

  • Great work! Beautiful song and beautiful show!

  • holy crap. I've been looking for this one for like...years :D

  • while i do think that the one that starts out saying "Shounen productions" (forgive my spelling) is better, it gave me goose bumps when you synced up "I DONT WANT TO DIE!" with Asuka's "I DONT WANT TO DIE!". that was just pure brilliance

  • ill never get tired of this song..its so awesome =P

  • This one is better then other ones =)

  • This is very good video! Rate Awesome!!

  • this is very good, i like the production value, its retro which is why i like it!5/5

  • VCRs?

    Wow..... how would that work?

  • connect one vcr to the other using the video cords and connect the other to the tv, use one vcr to play the video and the other to record parts you want

  • O_o

    wow.

    I'd just use a DVD ripper. :P

  • 1999.......

  • If only people didnt think that there was nothing before dvd and that we always had dvd then there would probably be alot less dumb#%#es in the world learn your history

  • Where can i download this amv pleeeeease?

  • ok i gues ive seen better the shonen productons one is better

  • it's a very good video but i like more the one that shadowfangirls posted

  • Very well done, espcially considering it being made by video, its so much easier now in days with computer :)

  • Wow...this fits NGE perfectly (cept for the shooting part) kudos to whomever created this masterpiece :)

  • This actually inspired me to getting into EVA and AMV making..... (not that i'm good at it)

  • Shinji and Asuka end up haveing sex but u just see a little in the death and rebrith movie

  • that version is quite nice. but opus version is epochal.

don´t like, that this version is so unmusical...

  • This was incredibly wierd to watch, it goes from all the darker moments to the more upbeat moments. Then it is suddenly doomed by the destruction (Shinji and Asuka are 'kissing' then it suddenly goes to the bit where Asuka is being devoured by the Seele Units.)

Either way, this AMV is masterful, the lyrics fit the parts all too well..

  • great job

  • I heard there is a better AMV in the fan dubbed Evangelion movie. Still havent found it yet.

  • it's AMV bohemian raphsody look for the one wid pic of asuka and shinji playing...

  • ok cool. Thanks ^_^

  • don't mention it...

  • ppl say that the first fansubs were so more accurate

  • Old School, gotta love it. About the quality of the bootleg fansubs I first watched Eva on. People today have no idea...

  • I think I remember seeing this at AZ. (I definitely remember the very first bit.) It didn't stick with me at the time, because I hadn't seen Eva. But I've always loved this song with Eva, mainly because Shinji is such a whiny little bitch. ^_^

  • DOWNLOAD WITH BETTER QUALITY :D

  • Its a VHS AMV thats as good as its gonna get

  • i like the opus version better, but i guess i have to give credit since they probably didn't have as many resources.... but on an unbiased lvl, opus is definetely more synced than this one.

  • I watched the opus version. I do think the actual scences choosen were better in this version but opus is more synced. Part of that comes from using very short video clips(definitely made with nonlinear video editing) which is just not practical when your editing with VCRs. On a side note some of the cuts seem a bit too fast to me in the opus video but that may just be because I'm used to seeing this one...So on a probably more biased opinion, I still think this one is best ;)

  • that was awesome

  • Dude, this isn't the original, the original is the 6:17, Evangelion OPUS

  • No Really it is the original. I promise I checked before making that claim. Evangelion Opus Premiered 2001-11-16. This video(heaven's cruelty) Premiered at Animazement 1999 (March 19-21), more than 2 years prior. Edited with nothing more than 2 VCRs this video is definitely the original! No digital Copy existed of it until recently however.

  • dude this is AWESOME to the max. I love it!
