I don't think shows that trivialize death like Tom and Jerry are good either because death is permanent and NOT funny. And if you kill people or animals they are not going to come back to life!

I do not like this show because it has good vs evil in it. I never liked any of the good guy bad guy fighting cartoons because physical violence is nasty.

I mean for pete's sakes Marvel's Namor is concidered Marvels greatest Villian and hero depending on his mood and he swims in water and commands his own friends and monsters of the deep as does Auqaman. Plus Namor has his own kingdom and army.

the pilot was shot in 1967 the cartoon itself didnt get picked up until 72 actually....this does look like the beginning from 73 on up till they did the adventures of the NEW Superfriends in like 1978

Enviroment: the only reason for Aquaman being in this kid show instead of Flash or Green Lantern. Well, at least Flash appeared in one episode.

Actually I'm not, I think the OP is now that you mention it. Thanks though this clears things up quite a bit. I was aware of the show but never correlated that perhaps the OP might be referring to that, at least I hope he is. And for anyone taking this differently, my intention wasn't to start anything here, I was just confused by the OP's comments, albeit a bit more aggressive in my tone than perhaps I should have been.

@kyerin3 This came from the first season, which GL wasn't a part of. He would be a supporting character in the All-New Superfriends Hour (Season 2).

Nope!! THIS IS NOT the first season. It was just the 4 in the first season. The kids came in on the second season. Yes, I do know because I was there and have the remastered DVD from ABC network.

@RRydnew Okay so this would be news to me and I was watching Superfriends since I was like 4 years old in 1976. Do you have anything to back this claim up? I have NEVER seen anything to substantiate the idea that there was anything prior to 1973 and considering this led to a JLA comic collection as well I'm sure I'd have seen something about it in ads from earlier than 1973 in their comics at the very least.

@RRydnew Thanks for your response. I did not look this up on Wikipedia. I've known for years that Superfriends started in 1973. So since you have a DVD of this first season, can you tell us where we can find it or can you upload something with a date on it that proves this? I am otherwise getting the sense that you are simply talking smack.

You must be under 30 to even question someone who actually saw the pilot of this cartoon series and tell them they are " talking smack" because there is no video posted on YouTube. The DVD is available on Amazon NZ. You might have to get the VHS version (as I have) because the pre 1973 seasons (2) are/maybe not on DVD yet. Also, re read my prior comment and let it sink in...I saw this series when I was 4 in 1970!

I love Aquaman. The Earth's surface is about 75% water, so they could have made more sea disasters. I wish they would have seen his potential & used Aquaman more.
