and that kids, is how girls feel sorry when a man gets hurt. they will take care of him, and start to digg him, because he's so strong. and when he recovers, they will be greatfull!
@Ramizello Me too i saw this before knowing of The Witcher now anytime i watch it i cant help but compare them but both Beowulf and Geralt are awesome :)
@Ramizello I know why. He have Geralt's mannerisms, white hair, sword on his back, past\character issues and identical line of job - hunting monsters. Christopher Lambert would make awesome Wiedźmin in proper movie adaptation of the book.
00:36 : god... the time between the back stabing, and Beowulf's head motion is outrageously long... it's boring
01:22 : this shot is weird : does the king spot something ? does he flee away ? mystery... whatever happens, the editing makes us feel really confused, and not "confused" like in Aliens (by James Cameron), where people are searching but not finding... confused by the fact that we don't know what's actually happening.
That electronic music that we hear during the whole movie sounds so anachronistic. It makes the whole movie look like an MTV video but strangely enough I like it...
God... lighting is mediocre, sound mixing is ugly, editing is frankly done by a guy who wouldn't be accepted in a film school, special effects are... oh god...
costume designe is utterly poor, and God the actors are so bad :D
I just love this movie ! I never had such a good time watching a film !
I pretty much know nothing about the mechanics of filmmaking, but I'm really interested in learning. What exactly is so bad about the editing, since you seem to criticize that the most? Can you point to specific parts?
Thing is, a cut you feel is a cut which is unaccurately done : thus, the guy who's watching the movie feels that there has been some editing done... which makes him lose the immersion the director have been trying to create...
@illithid235 Of course, with this movie, immersion is not so good because of a poor acting, a poor costume design, and an irrelevant music...
So if the goal is to keep your spectator inside the movie, your editing has to be, let's say, invisible... A good cut is a cut you can't see, from that point of view...
i'll watch it if yeah tell me why evee\yone likes it?

hmm... Yes, this movie now makes me think of Witcher, too. That, and Devil May Cry, in a way.

I don't know why but Beowulf in this movie always remembers me Geralt from the "Witcher".

Basicly, there's no good or bad editing...

@illithid235 01:26 Beowulf is still not moving... He doesn't see a shit, he moves like an autistic guy, rotating and looking up... IN SLOW MOTION
1:48 : this whole motion is crap : he starts a back flip, and without landing, finishes in a front flip
1:55 : here, the captain starts hitting the ground... and you can, if you don't guess, imagine that he's finishing beowulf on the ground
