How is this admitting Olbermann and MSNBC are "leaning to the left"? How is this just as bad, nay, WORSE than all the lies that Fox news has let air on their show?
How is this comparable to Fox proving their bias by making joke arguments about Obama being a terrorist? How is this on par with the lie that Fox went off the deep end with the whole 200 million trip to India which they made worse by claiming it was in billions later on because millions aren't bad enough apparently...
@rezmoneynwkubs If you seriously asked that then you must honestly think equal rights and pay for women aren't that important and that allowing an advance in medical research isn't important enough. Just to name two things he did off the top of my head.
I wasn't even talking about Obama either, I was talking about Fox and their hateful and unreasonable attacks. Even if Obama did too little that wouldn't justify the things they lie about to claim he has done.
You TOTALLY missed the point... Fox WOULD HAVE made him pay, and even then, they would probably cut into it, and probably put a bunch of background noise in, etc.
Go to Texas, secede, and watch it become the newest third-world country... Bye, Texas... Sorry, Mexico... then, maybe we can get something DONE around here without all your lies and avid disregard for fact and common sense.
Watch, someone is going to call me a name, rather than refute my statement.
Fox has both liberal and conservative commentators. Hannity would embrace McCain (even most conservatives hate his politics), but Combs would give him crap.
Better then MSNBC pretending they have real journalists.
combs is gone fox has no intention of being bipartisian but i will give them credit for interveiwing both parties now if theyd just let them awnser a question without butting in lol
im not surprised this people attack Olbertman this way, today no body accepts the truth, people keep sweeping it under the carpet ignoring its there but I cant, so I say GO KEITH!!!
Neo-conservative mouthpieces in the media bolster an impression of the US media-in-general that it has a favoritism of liberal ideals. The corporate controlled media (and NPR, PBS) use this as an excuse to favor conservative (corporate) views. Hence they try to look balanced while showing us only reasons to go to war and eliminate social protections.
Just for the record, NPR and PBS are the least likely media to be swayed or controlled by the corporate world as they are both funded by the public i.e. people pledging during fund-raisers. If anything, they truly are the most "fair and balanced" of any media outlets. I did like a Kucinich too, but now that he's out, Obama is the best choice. As far as Olberman goes, I think that of all the cable newsguys, he does cut through the BS better than any, even though he works for NBC.
really??? obama is the best choice? he's taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from insurance companies, flipped on the FISA bill, is preparing a flip on Iraq, and is in the hands of corporate america- like all the other democraps.
Nader is the best choice.
As of right now, the democraps have NO REASON to reach out to the MILLIONS of progressives who blindly go in every four years and vote democrap.
If ENOUGH of us voted nader, that would FORCE the democraps to move LEFT instead of right.
Don't know if you've heard but Nader recently scolded Obama for "talking white" It's a shame that anyone would even consider voting for such an obvious racist. I voted for him in92 before I knew his archaic views on race. He once did great things for public safety, let that be his legacy, let him fade now and make way for new ways of thinking AND acting. Lets judge others by the content of their character, not by the way they speak or don't speak.Does that sound like a good idea?
Also, there is still the possibility of criminal prosecution regarding FISA bill which is probably why he voted for it. Let's hope he will push for that when he gets into office which, I'm sure you must know by now, is inevitable.
I think the point of the video is that he questions why Edwards would bother to pay for time when MSNBC would gladly give it to him freely. Eluding to the belief, right or wrong, that MSNBC and the media in general leans to the left. Whether you agree or not, if you can't see the argument, or refuse to see the controversy, you are not being intellectually honest.
Now that I've seen this, all of this debating should finally be settled. Using 9/11 as a smokescreen for personal agendas is not personal--it's just good business and we should lighten up. Invading Iraq was the best move we could have made! Undermining the Constitution really IS the way to go. And I finally realize that GW isn't stupid. Thanks for the post. There is no point in this video. He says that he wouldn't have a hard time getting time on NBC, and ofc not. Wow, you completely missed the point. Edwards wouldn't have got a hard time from MSNBC because giving people a hard time is not the job of any journalistic venture. Journalists are supposed to ask questions and investigate the answers to see whether they're true.
It's only idealogical spin machines like Fox that think they supposed to give anyone "a hard time."
He wouldn't have gotten a hard time.. wow.. you sure caught him with his pants down boys.. effin' amazing!
The context would obviously be that he'd have an easy time reletive to what he'd gotten on mainstream FOX, against guys like Hannity, who'd get uhm.. all fair and balanced on his ass!
gasp! olbermann is a liberal and that was a subtle show of support for edwards! whats next? rush and billy are gonna admit that they support the iraq war?
Keith meant that MSNBC wasn't going to blast Edwards with propaganda like Fox News.
Neo-conservatism is a plague on society. Bush is a murdering tyrant who has an insane amount of blood on his hands, but still says he's Christian. Compared to that piece of shit, all the Democrats look great.
Our republic is a plutocracy that misleads the masses into thinking a democracy exists when the elections are fraudulent, the people are deceived by mockingbird mass media and threatened into compliance by armed authorities who tax the people while calling it security, similar to protection given by organized crime and local gangs using extortion.
veriteez: "funny how Edwards already had his commercial lined up right before Patreous went on t.v."
Why not? You must be the only person in America, right or left, that didn't know what Shrub's toady, Petraeus, and then Shrub himself, was going to say.
Here I was looking forward to a screw-up by Keith Olbermann and instead all I learned is that johnnydollar01 is silly, petty, and not all that smart. Of course a top tier presidential candidate would not have a hard time getting on MSNBC to respond to Bush's speech on the most controversial issue of our time. That's news. Would a Repub (other than RP, maybe) have as easy a time getting on? Probably not. Contrast is news, parroting is not.
A fundamental question for the chump fool who posted this video and for all the outrageous rednecks supporting a war in a country they can't even locate on a map (many of whom no doubt want to shove their Baptism down everyone else's throat):
Is the point of this video that MSNBC is just as bad as Fox?
And, in fact, is MSNBC as unabashedly supportive of one party line as is Fox?
It's amazing how many people, including Irish, laughing at the flub by an 18 year-old contestant believe a statistic provided by a 17 year-old actress. It was a 2006 poll of 18-24 year old Americans that were asked to point out the US on a world map. Hey Aimee Teegarden, 94% got it right!!!
I'm not talking about that one incident, obviously. The issue is not that Americans can't locate the US on a map (though most couldn't locate most major US cities on a map), it is that Americans can't identify OTHER places on the map. And this itself is a function of the essential point, that most American conservative hawks have very little understanding of the places they support fucking up. The problem this time around, you irresponsible dunce, is that America is less safe because of the war.
If only we could go back to the pre-war safety of September 11, 2001. All the terrorist attacks that have happened on US soil since we invaded Iraq have been so devastating. It's sad, really.
Be careful civilgillman. If you're implying that America (or the world) is safer since the War in Iraq, realize that a correlation between two variables does not (necessarily) imply there is a cause-and-effect relationship.
I didn't say that the war in Iraq has necessarily made us safer. But I do not believe it hasn't made us less safe. I have seen no proof of it. One thing that definitely concerns me is that our borders are left wide open. As a result, our country is filled with potential terrorists who could strike at any moment (see Glenn Beck's latest series on the Perfect Day - they may attack our schools). But terrorists were attacking us before we went to Iraq (9/11, embassy bombings, the Cole...).
What news agency these days isn't a little biased. What happened to the days when people talked about moral fiber, and the ethics of accurate reporting. MSNBC sure are hell beats Fox News hands down, go spread your neo-con propaganda on some other site johnnydollar01. We all know what your about.
yeah, just like all the republican candidates besides Ron Paul practically get a massage from the pundits heads on fox news. The answer is both networks suck.
amazing how neoduped never talks about the daily complete and utter b.s. on FIXed news. I mean, how can a person go completely deaf to the loud sound of proven lies, and yet spend time looking for the out-of-context crap. must be another neodupe computer bank paid fulltime by the GOP to alter REALITY. too bad for them, reality is self evident, so they have to spend billions in marketing money to fight it. to their credit, their dumass constituency drinks their koolaid quite readily.
My humble apologies johnnydollar. I didn't see your username before posting. I don't want to insult the perfectly good name "Johnny". I should have said "interviewed the Breck-girl".
Finally, for once in his mundane career the self-proclaimed "Edward R. Murrow of our time" tells the truth. I mean, he has been on the air for a while and FINALLY he accidently let the truth out. I bet his boss, George Soros, will punish him by making him say the Pledge of Alliance or shaking hands with a veteran.
Olbermann is one of the few journalists courageous enough to reject Bush's pathetic lies and propaganda, and stand up for the truth. I heartily support Keith, and we need 10 Olbermanns for every venom-spewing Hannity or Limbaugh.
Wow, you mean MSNBC is more left leaning?!?!!?! Damn, you are quite the detective.....have you noticed Fox being a little biased to the right too? Just thought you should know that, since you spend all your time watching Olbermann
LMAO, "a hard tiime from this particular network" was clearly not some freudian slip as the poster would like to believe but a referrence to bias attention he gets from other networks.
Ironic as hell to see how someone pre-disposed to hear/believe what they want will twist in their head what they need. I have no doubt Jonnydollar and OlbermanWatch actually hear and believe they got some "moment of truth."
Olbermann Watch is truly the daftest media watchdog group I have yet encountered. It is not about which side of the political spectrum you are coming from - there are organisations like the MRC that go after Olbermann - but you are just hopelessly bad at landing any punches. I watch your videos on youtube just to see the latest awful effort at exposing Keith. True to form, this is utterly useless.
The media bias is not an issue of right and left. Right and Left are divisive terms that propagandists use to keep the people weak (see Hannity, Rush, boortz). Media bias is for the State and the corporate puppet masters. Keith appears to have integrity. Stop Fascism Now!
That's all they have left.I love the music like something ominous was revealed.I wish Olbermann somehow sees this.He would have a field day with this idiot.
Yeah, he wouldn't have gotten a hard time, because Keith Olbermann is a respectful interviewer and actually lets people finish their statements. He disagrees fundamentally with John Ashcroft but he treated him with respect as well. Doesn't that say something about his character?
Olbermannwatch is pathetic. That site goes out of its way to slam the guy, always over stupid things like this.
Because, unlike FAUX news, MSNBC would have let any candidate respond to Bush's news conference. This is another example of wingnuts running around screaming that the sky is falling
Why? Because it reveals the media bias that left wings wackos (like yourself) always deny exists? Your argument is the typical liberal response. It's all emotion, no substance. It's all about defending your team instead of defending the truth.
hmmm...defending the truth...you mean the truth that there were no WMD's? The truth like Saddam hated Al Queda? The truth that the Surge will not work, has not worked? Oh we defend the truth alright, from being hidden by stoodges like you. Why can't you free yourself by simply saying "We trusted Bush and he lied to us, we're sorry"? Weakness isn't admitting you're wrong, weakness is pretending you're still right when you've been proven wrong.
You don't remember what happened before we invaded Iraq, do you? Saddam Hussein had used WMD's on his own people. Even CNN reported how Saddam was encouraging terrorism by paying families of suicide bombers $20,000 or so (I forgot the exact number), among other things. It wasn't just our country's intelligence reports that claimed he STILL had WMD's. Saddam hated Al Qaeda? What sources do you have for that? The surge won't work? IT HAS WORKED!!!
You don't remember that at the time Saddam Hussein was an American ally? We were an active supplier of military supplies, battle field intelligence, and most controversially dual-use technology that allowed Saddam to create WMDs.
What is your point? Saddam was supporting terrorism because he was an ally against Iran a long time ago? I guess that means that Bush lied and kids died! Intelligent reasoning.
My point is we were aware of Saddam's use of WMDs (against Kurds and Iranians) in the 80's but didn't think that was a good reason to stop suppling him, much less a reason remove him from power. Why use it as a reason now?
That's a pretty bad case of Fear-induced denial you're suffering from Civil... Those WMD's Saddam used on the Kurds were bought from the USA to be used against IRAN. The White House referred to Saddam as "..a monster, but he's OUR monster..."
Have you enlisted to help in the progress in Iraq, or are you just another priviledged chickenshit member of the 101st keyboard division who bravely types away not sacrificing a god-damned thing for this war you love so much?
"Saddam hated Al Qaeda? What sources do you have for that?"
Saddam was a Ba'athist. A secular socialist. Islamic conservatives despised Saddam's abolishment of Sharia law. Fundamentalist Sunni Muslims (Al Qaeda) were a threat to Saddam's secular rule.
Again, clearly a case of people seeing a world they want to exist instead of using some critical analysis to learn about the actual world around them. Civilgillman, you need to read a book or two on Islamic fundamentalism post Syed Qutb (hint: you will learn why Osama hated Saddam and other secular leaders). Your fast food sound bite knowledge of the Middle East and Islam serves you poorly.
civil: What you need to assert here, IMO, is a serious question to John Edwards that MSNBC would ask that would severely attack his record or stance on the issues. What I mean here is a question that Fox would ask, setting aside references to haircuts.

Queif would've given Edwards a full hour free-O-charge. Providing he didn't make fun of his toupee, of course.

Contrast is news, parroting is not.
vrede420 4 years ago
A fundamental question for the chump fool who posted this video and for all the outrageous rednecks supporting a war in a country they can't even locate on a map (many of whom no doubt want to shove their Baptism down everyone else's throat):
Is the point of this video that MSNBC is just as bad as Fox?
And, in fact, is MSNBC as unabashedly supportive of one party line as is Fox?

truthlovver (ironic handle),
It's amazing how many people, including Irish, laughing at the flub by an 18 year-old contestant believe a statistic provided by a 17 year-old actress. It was a 2006 poll of 18-24 year old Americans that were asked to point out the US on a world map. Hey Aimee Teegarden, 94% got it right!!!
news.nationalgeographic(dot)com/news/2006/05/0502_060502_geography.html (full report pdf, pg. 26)
Replace the "(dot)" with "." and remove the space created in "geography".
vrede420 4 years ago
I'm not talking about that one incident, obviously. The issue is not that Americans can't locate the US on a map (though most couldn't locate most major US cities on a map), it is that Americans can't identify OTHER places on the map. And this itself is a function of the essential point, that most American conservative hawks have very little understanding of the places they support fucking up. The problem this time around, you irresponsible dunce, is that America is less safe because of the war.
truthlovver 4 years ago
If only we could go back to the pre-war safety of September 11, 2001. All the terrorist attacks that have happened on US soil since we invaded Iraq have been so devastating. It's sad, really.
civilgillman 4 years ago
Be careful civilgillman. If you're implying that America (or the world) is safer since the War in Iraq, realize that a correlation between two variables does not (necessarily) imply there is a cause-and-effect relationship.
Edella 4 years ago
I didn't say that the war in Iraq has necessarily made us safer. But I do not believe it hasn't made us less safe. I have seen no proof of it. One thing that definitely concerns me is that our borders are left wide open. As a result, our country is filled with potential terrorists who could strike at any moment (see Glenn Beck's latest series on the Perfect Day - they may attack our schools). But terrorists were attacking us before we went to Iraq (9/11, embassy bombings, the Cole...).

The media bias is not an issue of right and left. Right and Left are divisive terms that propagandists use to keep the people weak (see Hannity, Rush, boortz). Media bias is for the State and the corporate puppet masters. Keith appears to have integrity. Stop Fascism Now!

ericcalderon2 4 years ago 3
Why? Because it reveals the media bias that left wings wackos (like yourself) always deny exists? Your argument is the typical liberal response. It's all emotion, no substance. It's all about defending your team instead of defending the truth.
civilgillman 4 years ago
hmmm...defending the truth...you mean the truth that there were no WMD's? The truth like Saddam hated Al Queda? The truth that the Surge will not work, has not worked? Oh we defend the truth alright, from being hidden by stoodges like you. Why can't you free yourself by simply saying "We trusted Bush and he lied to us, we're sorry"? Weakness isn't admitting you're wrong, weakness is pretending you're still right when you've been proven wrong.
VerdillacFSM 4 years ago 4
You don't remember what happened before we invaded Iraq, do you? Saddam Hussein had used WMD's on his own people. Even CNN reported how Saddam was encouraging terrorism by paying families of suicide bombers $20,000 or so (I forgot the exact number), among other things. It wasn't just our country's intelligence reports that claimed he STILL had WMD's. Saddam hated Al Qaeda? What sources do you have for that? The surge won't work? IT HAS WORKED!!!
civilgillman 4 years ago
You don't remember that at the time Saddam Hussein was an American ally? We were an active supplier of military supplies, battle field intelligence, and most controversially dual-use technology that allowed Saddam to create WMDs.
Edella 4 years ago 2
What is your point? Saddam was supporting terrorism because he was an ally against Iran a long time ago? I guess that means that Bush lied and kids died! Intelligent reasoning.
civilgillman 4 years ago
My point is we were aware of Saddam's use of WMDs (against Kurds and Iranians) in the 80's but didn't think that was a good reason to stop suppling him, much less a reason remove him from power. Why use it as a reason now?
Edella 4 years ago 2
Denial ain't a river in Egypt.
VerdillacFSM 4 years ago

Fundamentalist Sunni Muslims (Al Qaeda) were a threat to Saddam's secular rule.

civilgillman 4 years ago
Again, clearly a case of people seeing a world they want to exist instead of using some critical analysis to learn about the actual world around them. Civilgillman, you need to read a book or two on Islamic fundamentalism post Syed Qutb (hint: you will learn why Osama hated Saddam and other secular leaders). Your fast food sound bite knowledge of the Middle East and Islam serves you poorly.
Hopeful71 4 years ago 5
You read books? Wow, you must be smart. I have never read a book before. And I got all my knowledge of Islam through the news.
civilgillman 4 years ago
civil: What you need to assert here, IMO, is a serious question to John Edwards that MSNBC would ask that would severely attack his record or stance on the issues. What I mean here is a question that Fox would ask, setting aside references to haircuts.
