My dad tells me stories about how he tried out to be the new drummer of KISS back in 1980. He even grew his hair out like Peter's and painted his face like the Cat himself. Of course it's quite clear that he didn't make the cut, I'm kinda glad he wasn't as my dad is a horrible singer but used to be a great drummer.
I'M A HOOOLIGANN YEEEAAAAAAAA YEEEAAAAA YEEEAAAA!!!!! Man I read that during the second leg of this tour (Love Gun '77) This song was dropped from the setlist..
I understand why Peter and Ace left the band.. Paul and Gene held Ace and Peter back not only during live shows, but most of their songs were rejected and Paul and Gene's songs were 90 percent of the albums. Hell, Ace and Peter were lucky to get one song in. No wonder they wanted to do solo albums. Funny thing is Ace's sold best
@tmhclearance It's true, Peter and (especially) Ace didn't get to *sing* lead on as many songs as Gene and Paul. But, if you take a close look, most of KISS's hits were *written* by Peter and (especially) Ace. Check the liner notes on your albums.
@bwaredawolf more like a few, with Criss only "co"writting 4 songs his entire time in the band . Check out ALIVE, two songs written by Frehley, none by Criss and ACE only wrote the intro to Rock Bottom, Stanley/ Simmons everything else . Short list there to even call it many .. just saying .
Peter was killin' it here!

@KISSARMYHQHD Cold Gin - Ace Frehley, Parasite - Ace Frehley, Rock Bottom - Frehley & Stanley, Beth - Peter Criss, Bob Ezrin, & Stan Penridge, Shock Me - Ace Frehley.
Ok, so I said "most". Perhaps I meant "many".

@tmhclearance This is true. However, Gene And Paul were the ones that convinced Ace to sing lead on songs!
