Living in Minnesota, we know all to well about ethanol and bio-diesel. Ethanol has been 10% of our gasoline since the early 90's!
We all know that the stuff is BAD! less energy per gallon, requires 0.9 gallons of gasoline and about 30 gallons of precious fresh water, to make 1 gallon of ethanol. The plants STINK. It is not good for cars, it has 33% less energy, and hence 33% less MPG, and HP from the same engine running on gasoline. The truth is out there, all over the net. LOOK!
How come the Obama campaign has not focused on the estimated $418 billion dollar deficit in 2008 that was a surplus in 2000, the $4/gallon gas that was $1/gal, the millions of cut jobs, and the millions of jobs sent overseas?
Why not repeat these "facts" over and over again daily in your campaign until the voters get it.
Obama's socialist backing goes back at least to 1996, when he received the endorsement of the Chicago branch of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) for an Illinois state senate seat. Later, the Chicago DSA newsletter reported that Obama, as a state senator, showed up to eulogize Saul Mendelson, one of the "champions" of "Chicago's democratic left" and a long-time socialist activist.
Ethonal is a total loser. It cost more to make and is not cleaner to burn. It drove up corn prices on the tax payers buck. I wounder if biodiesel would make it with out your tax dollars being used.
Ethanol and biodiesel aren't the same thing. Biodiesel has methyl and ethyl chains and can be made from vegetable oils or animal fats. Algae can even be turned in to biodiesel.
Today most biodiesel (85%) is made in the EU, not the US, so the subsidy angle is a bit overplayed.
Biofuels are best when they come from recycled material. And they are only part of the solution.
Nevertheless, using land that can be used for food crops for fuel is dumb.
A massive investment in renewables would give us the economy of scale needed to bring down unit prices, build new American industrial capability, and give us independence. The feasibility of this has been noted by public and private analysts such as David S. Freeman, Amory Lovins, and DOE constants since the 1970's.
Domestic renewable fuel would be great and under Obama and Biden I think we'll see something like that expand to all 50 states. I want my hydrogen car now!
As Palin has noted, drilling will require new transport and refining infrastructures, and must be used as a bridge to renewable energy, if we are to be free of Middle East and endless warfare. We don't have those infrastructures now and will have to make massive investments of time and money to get them. It would be wiser to instead invest that time and money/debt in renewables now using existing technologies.
mayyourtruthbetold said: "Palin has noted, drilling will require new transport and refining infrastructures, and must be used as a bridge to renewable energy"
Your Palin (I call her Mrs. Drama) also supports bridges to nowhere. The time for fuel alternatives is NOW!
Obama is on top of the issues. He brings youthful enthusiasm into the campaign and he acts very presidential. His leadership skills will more than compensate for any qualities he may lack. I'll take leaders with sound and consistent good judgment over experience any day. Washington D.C. is invested with politicians with experience, and you see where that has led us. Experience must be combined with integrity, competence, and trustworthiness to be worthy of our votes.
McCain and Palin are the real choice for the White House.
McCain with his experience and leadership can stand up to the special interest.
Obama with his two years of expereince on trying to learn where to go, has not a clue how to stand against special interest.
Pallin has had more experience than obama and she offers a better chance for real substantive changes. Congress is broke. two senators with a plan on "change" and nothing to show is too much of a chance we can not afford to take.
THIS is the change that America needs. biofuel from recycled cooking grease/oil and algae farms. harness the methane in cow flops, and you can fuel your own farm!
Great job! I wish they showed this on TV. Unfortunately, republicans control the media, so we don't get all the news. Just be careful of Palin. Please don't make the mistake of underestimating her. She is McCain's trump card. she is somewhat similar to Dick Cheney. i wish you all the best Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden.
they only show the truth and i know you will call fox news bigotry and censorship or whatever but democrats are just plain blind to the ignorance of their politicians
Thank God for these two fine men. After the last 7 1/2 years the shroud is lifting and they will bring light into this country once again. President Obama and Vice President Biden!
You can just go to your nearest post office and ask them for a registration card, but you don't have to register a Democrat in order to vote for a Democratic ticket in general elections. You can register Independent or whatever you prefer, just register!
Go to your library; they should have a voter registration card! If not, ask the librarian and he/she will tell you what to do. This is a lovely video. I admire these guys. I'm excited. XO Love that team, including the Obama and Biden families. RIGHT ON!!!!!!!
These are two smart guys who care about the world, checking out and learning about technologies that will help the country and help the world. It's a great thing to see. America would be lucky to be led by such a team. And as a Canadian, I can say I'm jealous that our "leaders" don't measure up.
This sounds great and all until you come to realize that government by its nature creates the foundation of markets in the areas under it's jurisdiction.
Your free market wouldn't have developed the Eisenhower Interstate system, for example, which ended up kicking our economy into high gear because it facilitated trade.
This is the sort of cautious and measured role the govt should play in the energy conundrum we find ourselves in. The free market will just exhaust petroleum and then what?
i'm not american, but if i had the chance to vote, i would vote for obama. he is sempathic to many people in the world, because he is the first black candidate. but I listended to his speechs, and i feel deep in my heart that barrack obama is the right maan for the white house!
this could be another industrial revolution for business and work. the last 8 years have been wasted on trying to hold onto oil and old technologies. science is not a bad thing. the main difference is being open to new things and knowing that we can't go on with the status quo
I agree, I had started to lean McCain a little because of tax issues (mostly raising the fica cap.) But now that I have seen both VP picks I like the Obama Biden team ALOT. I will definitely be voting Dem this year
