Getting the diploma, is so more epic than winning that tournament against the elite 4 (can't remember what it's called).

And yet, the ceremony when you are awarded the diploma, is just an utter failure. To quote some other people, who've commented on this; The biggest disappointment of my life.

@EB13LDK Good point you have there. I understand how it's a huge deal to beat the Elite Four because, well, their elite of course! But to catch and/or train all 150 Pokemon takes much more time than just training a few Pokemon to high levels and sweeping through countless trainers throughout the whole game.

What would have been cool is if you received a sneak peak at the next generation (I know, technologically limited red/blue/yellow), but something like a video containing the silhouettes of the appearance of the first 3 starter Pokemon in Gold/Silver would have been truly awesome.

But then if that was the case, everyone would have known about what happens when you get all 150 Pokemon because it would have been widely publisized, at least with the internet and gaming community. A diploma was just the thing to keep fans... dissapointed, in my opinion. Meh, what can ya do.

Why do you guys gotta hate on him for not having Mew, technicaly you Were not Spose' to get him unless it was through an event. That's why it's called the Mew GLITCH. Mew is just like MissingNo, accidently left in the games code. So if you're going to give him crap about Mew, give him crap about MissingNo.

I never had my game glitch or lose it's save, but it did have lots of messed up pixels for a few hours of gameplay. It was quite the anomaly to me as a little kid walking around the house playing my GameBoy. I had never seen a game glitch before, it was a little scary haha.

In pokemon green version if you catch all 150 pokemon and go to this same guy he'll give you Mew instead of a diploma, not sure why they changed it for Red/Blue/Yellow. But yeah if you do this and the mew glitch you can get two mews on pokemon green. ^^

It took me nine long years, and I finally defeated Pokemon Red. Technically I'm a little to old to be playing it, but I don't care. I had to beat it. So I spent God knows how long beating it only to completely sap the replay value and this diploma that can't be printed is my only reward. Needless to say, it sucked.

I don't like how in every Pokemon game, you get nothing but a few words to congratulate all the hard work...I mean, at least in this game you get a diploma, but they should do something like "Get 150/151 Pokemon (missing Mew) in your Pokedex, go to the head programmer and he will give you Mew." The Pokedex says there's only 150 Pokemon, so I did complete it. Catching Mew is extra and not considered 100%. That's what Nintendo said that I read somewhere a few years ago. When they gave out Mew through the machines, it was for fun, and so players could try and get 101%.
