@msungs I used a caterpillar that I found out there. My favorite bait is snake because it is so tough and stays on the hook. No weight is necessary but they do come in handy. The most difficult aspect of this technique is getting the jug out there without tangling the line.
In Alberta if you turn around twice a green man will appear with a book in his hand. To use a device that self winds is illegal to even test here. Crap gotta go I already turned once must go in straight line now.
I never heard of these until I seen your other video. I bought some and I put a hook on with some bait and went to walk away and it went off. First thing I thought was this piece of crap doesnt work it went off with out anything touching it! It caught a fish within 10 seconds! I couldnt believe it. I know it was dumb luck to catch one that fast but they do work! Thanks....
I buy mine at Academy sports, walmart might have them. But just google it and I'm sure you will come up with dozens of listings. They are very common and have been around forever. They usually run a few bucks a piece but you can get a dozen at Academy for like 15 bucks. I call them yo yo reels or yo yo traps. Thanks.
Excellent video I enjoyed the innovative use of the spring loaded reels and the empty water bottle almost genious...thanks fro the idea...keep'em coming!
Can you tell me what you use for bait and do you have it weighted? It just looked like you had a hook.
