DUDE THIS IS SO FUCKING AWESONNNNNN RIGHT NOW I'M BUILDING A WATER SYSTEM FOR MY COMPUTER BUT NOW YOU GAVE ME A FUCKING GREAT IDEA THANK YOUUUUUU . YOU ARE GOD
I have a question, maybe it´s stupid but I want to learn: how much time will the dry ice be able to cold down my CPU without having to add more or chaging it?...
@arsenedevos actually, the world record is ~8.1Ghz on a Cedar Mill P4. But this is faster for basically all computational tasks; it has 2 cores and each one is much more power ful than the WR CPU
@eligray The WR now is with Cedar mill p4 347 at 8199mhz , with a fully modded p35-t2r , i got with p4 631 5955 mhz , for it you need a good pot , dice sucks with it .
@overclock1366 Very nice! and I'm sorta surprised to hear it was on a DFI board... I've heard that the old commando boards were the best. I've got an F1EE and LN2 now, so I should have fun at MIT next year! (hoping for unlimited free LN2)
If they release a 8 Ghz CPU in 2 years I'll have it at 15Ghz BEEYATCH!! lmao
In all seriousness, CPU clock frequencies aren't going to jump much (if at all) in the future. Pentium 4 chips with 3.33Ghz stock frequencies came out many many years ago, and Intel's new highest end chips (for both penryn and nehalem architectures) only match that core frequency.
Even if they do then you will over be able to overclock it even higher then 8Ghz. Reasoning is its fun to do, like putting a big block in a car and heading down to the drag track even if it is useless daily driving.
Easy- Just wire the fans, drives, and all other peripheral devices to a cheapo PSU; then only plug the mobo and GPU into the high-quality (less noisy) PSU.
haha i was looking around after this video and now i have 3 power suupplies in mine. 1 for graphicts cards (dual gts 250s)1 for hdds/cds. and one for everything else i can possibly find
But the idea behind it was to increase the power quality to the important components, so I recommend you just plug everything important into your highest-quality PSU if it can handle it.
Umm no crysis is a video game that uses 75% GPU and about 3 threads of the 8 in a good CPU so it wouldn't be a good showcase of ur CPU clock try encoding video and show the speed difference at different clock speeds
lol all that and he used CRT monitor loll

Did you break the world record?
cmckaycm 2 years ago
nope, but I got to 5.83 Ghz on this run.
With liquid nitrogen and an e8600 (instead of the e8500 here), I got to 6.261 Ghz =)

the world record is like 7.5 ghz

bring ur pc to antarctica and bomb it with dry ice then overclock it to about 8ghz and then play fsx or crysis on highest settings, lol.

Probably the best way to show how powerful this is is by playing Crysis on Ultra High settings...

it was stable enough to run my benchmarks. I have a phase change unit for daily use, and that keeps me at a comfortable 5Ghz =)
