I remember watching this live and wondering why everyone thought it was such big news that someone who for years had made his entire career out of shooting three pointers would (surprise!) go out and successfully belt out four three pointers. People have short memories.

1. He barely played this entire season, but the spurs were dead cold this game so pop wanted to find someone off the bench to give some firepower. The fact he came straight off the bench cold and drilled 4 three pointers in easily the most important game of the series was astounding. This was also his final season because the dude was old.

Kerr had by then already played more a decade of excellent defence and sunk dozens of clutch three pointers. To be suprised that he would come off the bench and be the hero is an insult to his career.
