I don't hate Kikyou... but I don't like her all that much either. I mean, I understand the reason why she stayed away from Inuyahsa except for a few short occasions. Until her plan was revealed in the end... no body knew why she gave the Shikon shard she stole from Kagome to Naraku. It made us feel like she was being a bitch and I understand why people resented her. Of course, I know all of the haters cried tears when Kikyou died in the end... don't deny it, even I was shedding tears.
@TotalFreakZoid But that's not actually true. Immediately after she gave Naraku the shards she says she's going to use it to take him down and even somewhat explains herself to Inuyasha later on. People hated her because they weren't perceptive enough of her character, there really isn't any excuse to hate her once she starts to go after Naraku.

Yet, when her heart softened because of Inuyasha's influence and Kohaku. She sacrificed herself in the end, and saved Kohaku. That's why I respect her... because she had the freedom to do what she wanted, and in the end it's what she wanted that saved the life of another.

Kikyo was a lovable character. She's been through so much, and even lost her love. All because of Naraku. I don't think it's fair to hate her. Just think about what she's been through.
I really like Kikyo, the love triangle makes things interesting. I like that Inuyasha actually has some romantic history and the whole "first love is true love" isn't a prevalent theme in the anime. It's realistic and relatable. If you've felt the sting of heartbreak, and the pain of losing someone you can relate to Kikyo. Those who hate her maybe don't understand those feelings. I guess I'm a sucker for the sad characters!

Onigumo wanted Kikyo as well. Kikyo loved Inuyasha. Hojo liked Kagome as much as any guy could like a girl who lies constantly to him. Koga wanted a piece of that too. That wolf girl wanted Koga. And wasn't there another girl who had a slight crush on Inuyasha.
I hate and like Kikyo. She can be annoying; siding with Naraku. But she loved Inuyasha; she thought he betrayed her. But that wasn't the case... On the other hand, Kagome was 'betrayed' in another way. Inuyasha saw her as 'Kikyo', a replacement... That's what I think.

As for Kagome, I would disagree. Inuyasha's come to love Kagome as someone separate from Kikyo. Though he's chosen Kikyo over Kagome a few times (maybe 2-3?) he's chosen Kagome over Kikyo (more than I can actually count) quite a bit as well. So I don't think he thinks of Kagome as a replacement. :)

Time hasn't moved on for her and it probably never will.

I hate Kikyo for trying to kill then trying to take Inuyasha from Kagome and cuz it's Kagome's turn to live and not hers but after she died like that in final act I realized she had a reason and she should come back.. I kinda like Koga more though..
It's kinda sad about Kikyo and her life but I think she should move on. I mean she almost tried to kill inuyasha and bring him to hell, I would much rather Kikyo die in peace and then Inuyasha marries Kagome. However, inuyasha would still not forget about kikyo but you can never truly forget your first love:)
The worst part of it all was that InuYasha renewal in 2009 that brought up the player haters once more. Surprisingly, it wasn't all that bad. Even had the same Japanese voice actors and crew. What was surprising is that it only ran for twenty-six episodes. Which means that overall, this show lasted 193 episodes. Pretty, fucking, good, anime.
I like both Kikyou and Kagome, they are not different all that much, both are pretty, strong, and amazing. Kikyou has a sad tale and I do really believe her and Inuyasha should have been together, let Kagome be with Sesshoumaru(Like that've ever happened.:/)
But neither Kikyou or Kagome are my favoriate character, for that is SANGO, badass, and RIN,sweet, I don't think anyone could ever bash them, it's only Kikyou or Kagome. In my opinion, all four girls listed in this are pretty amazing.

I like kikyo. I hated her at 1st but then I watched this long as series again and she kindaa grew on me. That still doesnt change how bad I feel for kagome I mean I literally would cry whenever kagome had to see kikyo and inuyasha together but I mean they loved each other and even Kagome understands that but I mean of course she'd still be hurt. In all honesty, I like and dislike both Kikyo and Kagome equally. Honestly, I hated Kikyo. I felt mad whenever I saw her come into the scene in InuYasha and thought that she really didn't belong. When I saw her in the Final Act part, I started to see that she really was better than what I thought. I never though I would cry when she died, but I did.

Kikyo was just very misunderstood...I mean if everyone understood the background she came from, you'd all understand how hurt she was. I honestly REALLY like Kikyo more than Kagome. It's just really sad she had to go the way she did--She never even had a chance to be happy. Spent all her life protecting the jewel, then gets tricked, and killed. Then her reincarnation is the one that gets to be happy with Inuyasha...It's kind of sad :(

Only plus was she had no obligation to her village anymore she could go wherever and she also got to learn so much more about herself as the show progressesed. And who was she to go to for help. She only had herself, but i think she kind of prefered it that way. Didn't have to worry about others trying to take her life as much.So sad
Time seems to travel a lot quicker when i listen to this, my mind just drifts off into a million thoughts and memories at once and by the time i've stopped thinking it's already time to restart this beautiful song.
I may get flamed for this, but I always hated Kikyo. I mean, yeah, someone else sabotaged her relationship, but she eventually realizes Inuyahsa loves Kagome. But does she let it be and move on? NO! She goes all crazy and tries to chain him and drag him down to hell with her. I can still remember, even though I stopped watching this ages ago, her going "Come to hell with me, Inuyahsa!!" a million times. And he's like "Biatch, no!" but she kept going back. Geez, how annoying and desperate!

I loved the when The Fina Act played this song it made me tear up .___. This series was the first i ever watched and one of the few i showed emotions for. You know a series is Good when cry,tear up laugh but who knows?
I remember my favorite characters being Sango and Kikyo. They were strong and independent characters. I didn't really like Kagome all that much for some reason. The music for this show gets an A+ from me and I'm a future music major for sure!

This song to me represents her strength, though she has lost so much and and her situation cant be helped she is fearless and still values life. She still is the proud strong woman she was when she was alive and still is one of the most formidable characters. She never allowed her judgement to be swayed, but mostly I imagine her strength to let inu find happiness without her though it hurts her to do so

No, I wont say hated, her. I hated what her intentions seemed to be back then, and earlier in the series. Later on she grew on me.
All she wanted was to have some happiness...Finally be with a man she loves, but then everything goes crashing down for her. When she's back, it still isn't good for her, as she sees that she's been "replaced" by a different girl. I really feel bad for Kikyo, and she's absolutely one of my favorite characters...Beautiful, strong, smart, yet inside, she's really nice.

I hated Kikyou but after her death, I only realized what they had to go through everything, and from then on I had only pity for her

I hate Kikyo for trying to kill then trying to take Inuyasha from Kagome and cuz it's Kagome's turn to live and not hers but after she died like that in final act I realized she had a reason and she should come back.. I kinda like Koga more though..

It's kinda sad about Kikyo and her life but I think she should move on. I mean she almost tried to kill inuyasha and bring him to hell, I would much rather Kikyo die in peace and then Inuyasha marries Kagome. However, inuyasha would still not forget about kikyo but you can never truly forget your first love:)

The worst part of it all was that InuYasha renewal in 2009 that brought up the player haters once more. Surprisingly, it wasn't all that bad. Even had the same Japanese voice actors and crew. What was surprising is that it only ran for twenty-six episodes. Which means that overall, this show lasted 193 episodes. Pretty, fucking, good, anime.

I like both Kikyou and Kagome, they are not different all that much, both are pretty, strong, and amazing. Kikyou has a sad tale and I do really believe her and Inuyasha should have been together, let Kagome be with Sesshoumaru(Like that've ever happened.:/)
But neither Kikyou or Kagome are my favoriate character, for that is SANGO, badass, and RIN,sweet, I don't think anyone could ever bash them, it's only Kikyou or Kagome. In my opinion, all four girls listed in this are pretty amazing.

i love kikyou and feel bad for her tragic love story but i hate when she interferes in kagomes and inuyashas reletionship but if i have to choose i have to go with kikyou because she doesnt need to be rescued all the time and she does use her arrows unlike kagome , she waits for inuyasha to come and doesnt even shoot an arrow like why does she even have arrows?

I mean I get the feeling Inuyasha loved Kikyou more and probably would eventually end up picking her over Kagome if she had lived. Plus all those times she saw Inuyasha and Kikyo together... In all honesty, I like and dislike both Kikyo and Kagome equally. I like Kikyo but she acts like a bitch sometimes but if you as a human being put yourself in her position, you understand...but still : ) And Kagome just seems like a spoilt little brat who takes people for granted sometimes but she's kind and funny when it gets down to it, and I mean, no-one's perfect so yeah. Kikyo's prettier!

Honestly, I hated Kikyo. I felt mad whenever I saw her come into the scene in InuYasha and thought that she really didn't belong. When I saw her in the Final Act part, I started to see that she really was better than what I thought. I never though I would cry when she died, but I did.

I understand that she was in pain. But if she really loved Inuyasha she would want him to be happy. Not try to kill him or bring him any pain. If she really cared, then she wouldnt want him to go through the same pain she did. Iv always hated her because i felt she got in the way, But when you look at her, how would you feel if the guy you loved found someone else. We would have handled it better,...i hope. Kikyo was just very misunderstood...I mean if everyone understood the background she came from, you'd all understand how hurt she was. I honestly REALLY like Kikyo more than Kagome. It's just really sad she had to go the way she did--She never even had a chance to be happy. Spent all her life protecting the jewel, then gets tricked, and killed. Then her reincarnation is the one that gets to be happy with Inuyasha...It's kind of sad :(

Only plus was she had no obligation to her village anymore she could go wherever and she also got to learn so much more about herself as the show progressesed. And who was she to go to for help. She only had herself, but i think she kind of prefered it that way. Didn't have to worry about others trying to take her life as much.So sad

I may get flamed for this, but I always hated Kikyo. I mean, yeah, someone else sabotaged her relationship, but she eventually realizes Inuyahsa loves Kagome. But does she let it be and move on? NO! She goes all crazy and tries to chain him and drag him down to hell with her. I can still remember, even though I stopped watching this ages ago, her going "Come to hell with me, Inuyahsa!!" a million times. And he's like "Biatch, no!" but she kept going back. Geez, how annoying and desperate!

this song represents all her hardships and sadness but her willingness to face her destiny. This song to me represents her strength, though she has lost so much and and her situation cant be helped she is fearless and still values life. She still is the proud strong woman she was when she was alive and still is one of the most formidable characters. She never allowed her judgement to be swayed, but mostly I imagine her strength to let inu find happiness without her though it hurts her to do so

When she's back, it still isn't good for her, as she sees that she's been "replaced" by a different girl. I really feel bad for Kikyo, and she's absolutely one of my favorite characters...Beautiful, strong, smart, yet inside, she's really nice.
