So lets see. The Mac had the fastest processor so that makes this test bias. The Dell ran XP and the Toshiba ran Vista, no shit the Toshiba is gonna boot last. Vista is a complete joke as far as OSs go and it obviously had more to load than XP. So this test was completely pointless. Go get the brands with the same processors and have the PCs have the same OS.

@djirok not really.. if you have eyes youll see that the 2 top icons didnt even show up until a split second after XP. And that laggy ass taskbar wasnt even fully extended till after the icons on XP showed up. And thats not bad considering the Macs processor was 1.6GHz faster =P

Wow. This test has absolutely no credibility at all. The most important thing in OS boot time is the hard drive. You dont mention anything about the hard drive You have 3 different OSs on 3 different computers with 3 different hard drives. Too many variables.

MAC sucks. There is no Blue Screen because it just stops. Programs don't stop responding because there isn't a message to pop up when they do. A MAC doesn't freeze...it turns itself off when you're in the middl of using something. I was using the best of the best in a graphics course, and that is what they did...ALL the time...lol

XP @ 1.6GHz CPU vs Mac @ 2.4GHz CPU and they boot the same; XP FTW for sure; plus I can tweak XP to boot faster than stock; You can't tweak a Mac. As for Vista, slow; lets hope Windows7 is faster.

sure, but who uses their computer without any software? I'd rather know how it runs after a year of use than how it runs with nothing on it. Besides, XP was notorious for allowing software to start at bootup, Vista should have fixed all that and focused on booting quickly.

I boot Vista with all effects and stuff under 20 seconds

Windows and Mac boot up the Desktop at around the same time, but I guarantee the Mac is ready to get kicking almost as soon as you see the desktop, while you have to give Windows at least another minute for it to load a bunch of useless tasks.

To be objective here, there is to much variation in hardware, both XP and Vista should have been loaded onto the same model Toshiba (as it's the better model) with the same specs.

Also were these running on mains or battery, if so then yes the XP one does seem to be the quickest to boot and use, however I have a feeling that if they were all running on mains power we'd see an interesting difference in results.

I think your video is a true, to the point video about top 3 most prevalent operating systems. I have a 2MB 250GB 2.00 ghz speed and I had vista, it worked but I lierlally felt like a babysitter with vista, I "downgraded" to XP, so much happier. My friend has a macbook bought it last yr, dont know what it is, and even with 1mb runs pretty good. I wanted a mac but to much money =(, eventually I'll upgrade to the superior operating system and just overall better computer.
