The powder sounded real dry and crunchy to me. I don't know what hellfire's talking about. Anyway, great videos wildernesseducation. I start my reloading course in a few days. Any recommendations as to what type of reload to specialize in and what are the top 10 in demand reloads. And do you think it's better to do handgun or rifle reloading? Thanks in advance, gave you 5 stars!
Their is one demand in reloading and that is consistency. The more consistent you keep the variables like weights and measurements the more accurate you loads will be. I know people who weigh their cases and group them into batches by weight this is because lighter cases have less brass and more powder capacity and a powder burning characteristic different to that off a heavier case. Reloading handgun ammo save you lots of money but the primary reason for reloading rifle ammo is accuracy.
hi, you mentioned in your last video reloading part 1 that you shouldn't leave any lubricant on the cartridge because of it causing high chamber pressures, does this also apply to a light application of oil on a round?
Absolutely it does the exactly the same thing. You should keep your ammunition oil free because it will cause high chamber pressure but it will absolutely effect the accuracy of you rifle.
i store my powder in the plastic bottle that it was supplied i only use the red container to hold the powder when i am dispensing it because it is easier than trying to take it out of the bottle with the scoop. When i am finished the powder goes back in the bottle. And can you see the central heating radiator in the back ground so i don't think that you can get much drier than that. But thanks for your concern
Who would i go to to learn reloading firsthand? Would i just need to ask around shops and ranges until i find somebody?

Two words to anyone getting into reloading, "Dillon Precision". That is all.

Interesting video - have you had a look at the the Targetmaster trickler system?
Ther is a youtube video showing how it works.

Depending on what shell quantity and powder metering precision you need, it appears that you could benefit from a powder trickler.
