  • This has to be one of my favorite episodes. Very touching. Shows how bonded Angela and Samantha are. Poor Angela. Nobody will let her sing. She's actually really really good!

  • 2 Words ♥Ray Charles♥

  • I cried lol

  • This episode is very touching, especially when Samantha started crying at the end.

  • 7:04 SO deserved...

  • I kind of liked it when Angela yelled at Samantha. Not because she deserved it (Which she did) but because it shows Angela as more than just "The woman I live with." instead like an actual parent.

  • Why that pubescent little philanderer!

  • This episode made me cry..

  • Teen age love can be very painfull

  • Best episode of the entire series.

  • @MikeyMoves2 Choosing a best is always hard. (Especially with 8 seasons.) But I would be quicker to give the 'best award' to the episode "Losers and Other Strangers."

  • Samantha: Angela told me to go to my room.

Tony: Then go to your room!

My favorite part of this episode. Excellent teamwork!

  • Nice shoulder pads, Mona! Lol...

  • When you have your own independent business, you need to take your clients as you get them. Without Angela's income Samantha would be on the streets and Tony would be out of a job.

There was no reason for Samantha to snap at Jonothan. He had nothing to do with, and he didn't know what had happened. It was more Samantha's abuse of Jonothan that made Angela react.

If Samantha had had any decency she would have excused herself or asked to spend the night at a friend's house.

  • It doesn't matter whether Jonothan is Angela's son or not, one family member doesn't treat another the way Sam was acting. And Angela has provided more than just money. Angela loves Sam almost as much as she does her own child and Sam depends on Angela for a lot.

  • I liked how Tony trusted Angela enough to back her up like that. He knew if Angela sent Samantha to her room, there must be a good reason.

  • Granted, Samantha was hurt. But she shouldn't take it out on poor Jonothan who had nothing to do with it. If Samantha hadn't been so spoiled, she would have quietly excused herself.

Angela is not trying to be Samantha's mother. However, Angela does have the right to protect her son.

  • @eternalhalloween1 Very true. And I always loved it when they put in the show were Angela kind of had the part of Sam's mother. Because she really was a mother to her!

  • @LoveJudithEllenLight Well, this 'undefined' relationship really has interesting turns where the children are involved. In the 1st season, we had the good episode "Just Like Tony," where Tony had to explain to Angela's son that 'stealing is wrong.' And then of course Tony had to explain that it's not good to imitate all the bad things he did.

I think the reason this show worked so well was because the relationship between Tony and Angela was NOT REALLY defined.

  • @eternalhalloween1 samantha had every right to be upset it wasn't angela's song it was for sam and she had a right to say she didn't want ray charles to sing it angela was way out of line.

  • @WhitneyLove2525 Well, we have to look at it this way. It's because of Angela's business that Angela is able to keep a roof over Samantha's head and pay her father's salary. The conversation may have remained civil except that Samantha started yelling at and insulting Jonothan (who was innocent of everything). Remember, Angela doesn't have a steady salary anymore. She runs her own business and she relies on any client she can get. And Angela had a right to protect her son.'

  • @eternalhalloween1 but it was Samantha's song it was ment for her and angela gets accounts all the time. and she only snapped at johnathan because he was singing that song and she was hurting and they are kids they snipe at eachother all the time.

  • @eternalhalloween1 I always loved about Samantha that she was a well rounded, realistic character. She was allowed to act like a typical teenager and I don't believe that there are many teenagers who would in a situation like this quietly excuse themselfes and leave the room. It's unfortunate that the same cannot be said about Jonathan. The writers never really knew what to do with him.

  • @laurenbrit54 Hi, I feel that they may have wanted a contrast between Samantha who can be a bit spoiled and Jonothan who is usually very good. Granted a lot of teenagers would have acted like Samantha. But there are some who would have quiety asked to spend the evening at a friend's house.

I don't deny Samantha was hurt. But she should not have vented on poor Jonothan who had nothing to do with it. In this scenario, he was the one I felt the most sorry for.

  • this is a touching episode, Sam and Angela really have a mother-daughter bond!!

  • Thank you so much for uploading this episode. I really appreciate it.
