  • This was my first ever Michigan game!!!

  • Pour some suga on MEEEEE!! GO BLUE

  • Sorry it wasnt Manningham it was number 17...you can give me a dud moment for that one.

  • A love all of the ignorant Michigan fans that sit here and think this was a great win...its a shame they dont have any pride to realize Manningham was not out of bounds and they put an extra second back on the clock that allowed Michigan to run a final play with how much time left?...ONE SECOND. IDGITS!

  • the call on that last play still gives me the chills

  • Henne was a great quarterback

  • Ill never forget being in the crowd on this day, and the absolute roar when mario caught that last touchdown, we were jumping up and down in our michigan sweaters and high fiving with complete strangers, that right there is what michigan football is all about, GO BLUE!

  • This was my first game at the Big House. One of the happiest moments of my life.

  • that touchdown throw to mario manningham what a pass and what catch damn

  • I was at this game with my dad (I was looking 4 myself in the stands lol) there isnt a lot that we agree on, but if theres one thing we both love its michigan football, i remember praying 4 just one more touchdown, and Henne delivered.. i will never forget that day, i love michigan football, and i love my dad.. lol if only he had let me storm the field.. Go Blue forever and always

  • i was at this game, it was so nuts. this would've gotten way more attention if the damn usc vs notre dame game wasn't the same night with reggie bush's "push" in the endzone. this game was way better!

  • tht was a great game i remember watching tht

  • oh yeah....michigan used to beat good Big 10 teams didnt we >.<

  • @wolverinefangowings The Hoke era has every reason to bring us redemption, that even though michigan has its bad coaches *cough* RichRod *cough* you can kick us while were down, but no matter what happens U-M and its fans will always bee together to get back up and fight another day

  • @gibby1456 be*

  • @gibby1456 I agree...i have some concerns right now about our defense, but they did seem to get better as the game neared its early conclusion. our kick coverage is horrendous right now-that needs work. people have been criticisizing our offense, but i dont think 3 quarters of football against a MAC team is ample time to get a real grasp of what the offense can do. can't wait for the ND game its gonna be a war

  • I was at this game! I have never heard Michigan Stadium so loud. The campus was on Cloud 9 for the whole week. Go Blue!

  • This game still gives me nightmares. Damn you, Michigan.

  • @jec7483 if you think thats bad...i was at the app state game in the endzone where the fg was blocked at the end...

  • @wolverinefangowings wow.....that sucks.....

  • #21 blew the coverage on the last play! What's his name?

  • @CatchSpark Alan Zemaitis, who was first team All Big Ten in 05.

  • I was at this game, by far the greatest sporting event I have ever witnessed in my life. What a perfect atmosphere.

  • God I miss college football already.

  • @94jg 2 more weeks bro!

  • lloyd carr was really good at beating jo pa

  • Man I'll never forget this day of college football...this was a classic but wasn't even the game of the day...USC at Notre Dame was even better...hasn't been a CFB day as good since...

  • Wow, this game was a snoozer until the later part of the 4th quarter...

  • My man wolverinehistorian put those two psu fans back in their place! Hahaha!

    Go Blue!

  • awe poor penn state :/

  • I was there, amazing game

  • history has shown to us that no matter what the ranks are, michigan can always come back and blow our minds. GO BLUE

  • i was 11 watching this lol i was freaking out

  • TOUCHDOWN MANNINGHAM!

    MICHIGAN WINS!!!

  • i remember watching this live! i was going crazy!

  • Michael Robinson was ridiculously good

  • your against, the michigan wolverines, the most winningest college football progame in history, if not, they are most winningest in the big ten for sure, 11? or 10? national championships, and your playing in the biggest stadium of any sort, in the country

Penn State fans can cry all they want, but Michigan won, fair, and square, in a classic college football game

  • You can't win against Mr.Historian PSU fans. You guys get a lot of calls your way. Morons.

    Go Blue!

  • @goblue918 my favorite game was back in 08.

  • @robr2004 nobody cares.

  • fuuuuuuuuck i had a chance to go to this game... but noooooo i had to stay home....and studyyy.....shit!!

  • TOUCHDOWN MANNINGHAM!!!!!

  • What great football. I remember watching this live. It must suck to watch games like these on youtube and be a Michigan fan thinking about what the team has been like the past few years. They really have gone downhill. Here's to more traditional powers being good and clashing horns in epic matches like these in the future.

  • Wow, pause it at 7:56 the ball is an incomplete pass on the ground with 2 seconds left, so they actually let one second off the clock.

  • One thing that Penn State fans also forget to point out is that they got a complete BS two point conversion on a botched PAT. If they wana talk about luck and things along those lines, the teams are even.

  • Why did they kick to Breaston again...Anyway, Ill take it. This is my favorite UM comeback..

  • I'm a 2010 UM grad and I just love all your vids. I've been at just about every home game since the 04 season and this game, the 04 MSU 3OT game and this past year's ND game are by far my most memorable experiences at UM. I enjoy reliving my college life through these.

  • GOD! The good old days when MICHIGAN could hold its heads up high!

GET RID OF richFRAUD andthe stench he brought

    WOLVERINES FOREVER!

  • @LOKISlog7

I bet you were one of the tools calling for Lloyd's head after the '05 season and The Horror of Appalachian state. Shut the hell up.

  • @TheZooCrew Nope! I was a huge fan of LC; but MICHIGAN should NEVER LOSE to the likes of APP St--INDEFENSIBLE and a stain in the programs great history.

    YOU shut the hell up

    and

    FIRE richFRAUD!!!!!

  • @LOKISlog7

I don't see what's so fraudulent about a guy who built a no-name program into a national power, annihilated Oklahoma in a bowl game only a few years ago, and takes his players' adherence to the law far more seriously than his predecessor.

  • Dieng! what a great game! I'm not a fan of either teams but, Michigan's offensive roster is Crazy! Manningham, Breaston, Avant, Hart, Henne, & Long, are all in the NFL.

But on Defense there is only Lamar Woodley, & Leon Hall.

Is there anybody else? LOL is freaking awesome!

  • Shouldn't have kicked to Breaston!!

    Go Blue!

  • One of the worst 4th quarters EVER

  • one of the best 4th quarters EVER

  • @travis2x I also enjoyed the past 3 seasons!!

  • Brad Nessler, the voice of Big 10 football.

  • Looking back, at how the 05 season played out.. im still extremely happy with what PSU did.. Luckily Penn St. lost, cause Texas vs USC was the right call for a Natl title game

  • That was one hell of a throw. Put it on the money

  • Man those were the days...

  • tell me about it... i have been watching these game highlights allll day. hopefully the wolverines can pull a miracle against that team down south this weekend.. GO BLUE!

  • I'm from Mi, but I'm a PS fan.

  • i remember this like it was yesterday. sitting on the couch watching and waiting, and then, it happened.

one of the best michigan games ive ever watched. and hopefully michigan beats PSU today. GO BLUE

  • This game prevented another BCS controversy.

Had this not been a touchdown, we would have had the same three-team controversy of the year before and possibly no Texas-USC Rose Bowl.

If I ever see Manningham, I will tell him that the millions who saw the epic Rose Bowl can thank him.

  • Pen State would never have jumped Texas. But there would be a hell of a controversy.

  • I was a cook while I was in college and I asked off when all of the Michigan games were on. I did not get off for this game (still pissed), but we had an open kitchen so I could still see the TV. I live in Pa so the bar was packed with PSU fans watching the game cheering and pissing me off. Ill never forget that final play, I threw everytihng up in the air and screamed as loud as I could. The entire bar turned around extremely pissed off and kept staring at me. LOVED EVERY MIN OF IT!!!

  • hell yeah ill never forget that shit either, i was at the gym, in novi, mi, and we were all around their big screen tehy had nd right before the last play some dudes like 'watch the freshman'...of course..henne to manningham wins the game.

  • i loved this game...went 2 my friends house to watch it with full michigan uniform and threw my popcorn all over the room when it happened...i LOLED

  • i went over to my friends house to watch this game and missed the final quarter of the notre dame usc game. I have never forgiven him for that.

  • 16+ players on this field from michigan are in the NFL

  • Fer real?

  • It's so true. This one hurt so much more than even the Minnesota loss in 1999 or the Iowa loss last year. The most crushing loss I've ever experienced as a PSU fan.

  • This was an awesome game.. thanks for pulling through Michigan

  • We've lost games on the last play before. All teams have.

  • Yeah, but this was after our big win against Ohio State and for me personally I can't stand Michigan, and PSU has really struggled against them this whole decade. The game was back and forth, a roller-coaster of emotion, and I was sure we were going to win at the end.......

Chad Henne was one hell of a QB. I don't know why people gave him shit. All I know is that he was always a beast against PSU!

  • the funniest part of this entire game is that lloyd carr fought for an extra second bcuz he called a time out and the refs let an extra second tick off, he went onto the field and got his WINNING 1 SECOND back xD

  • Erie isn't it? It's like looking into the future eh?

  • go blue

  • Im not a michigan fan Im a pitt fan but I was heavily rooting for Michigan in this game cause PENN STATE SUCKS ASS!!!!!

  • Hell yea Michigan Im from Pennsylvania and I fuckin hate Penn State

  • Comment removed

  • im from pa too and im a michigan fan..but im a flyers fan so pens suck ;)

  • How they only won 1 bowl game and never beat Ohio State is beyond me. I think Carr just ran out of talent as a coach and didn't evolve he was still playing 90's ball.

  • ran out of talent no no no he should have won a championship with that 2006 team easily that was one of the most talented michigan teams of all time they just got out coached in the big games

  • GO BLUE!

  • It makes me sad knowing this win and the win over Florida in Tebow's Heisman year are the only wins of note in Henne and Hart's career. Arrington and Mario should have come back for their senior year. We would have had some damn targets to throw to and not been so awful, but I can see why they left. Who was going to throw to them. and they knew it. their stock was up. Mario would have been the 2nd receiver after Crabtree in the draft had he stayed.

  • arrington was a senior so he couldnt come back

  • No, Arrington was a junior. And Crabtree was the 2nd receiver in the draft, Heyward-Bay went to Oakland before the niners took Crabtree.

  • no he was a junior. the reason why he left was because he didnt want to have to transition from lloyd carr's system to rich rodriguez's system

  • Pictures have shown the Avant catch was good. Pictures also showed Henne's knee was down when PSU stripped the ball and got rewarded a bogus touchdown that got them back in the game.

Can you tell me why PSU fans never bring up how JoePa argued AND GOT 2 seconds back on the clock in the first half? Carr is a baby for doing it but JoePa isn't? How convenient.

  • buddy, give it a rest, it was several years ago

  • PSU definitely should not have kicked to breaston, but what is most rewarding for UM fans is 21 strips Henne and scores the TD, but 21 is the peson who is victimized on the gamewinning TD

  • @pennstate2612 mack brown did in the big 12 championship game. is he not a baby?

  • @pennstate2612 Michigan won and you know it, everything they did was good, I hate Joe Pa and Penn State and Avant caught, and I agree what about Joe Pa complaining? Best comeback ever!

  • @007zachj

No, I think Michigan coming back from MSU 17 down in the fourth with under 10 min left is up there. Go Blue!!!!

    Good win though

  • im a proud graduate of THE university of Michigan...was at that game so priceless to see the deflated faces of those nitany lions...they will be back at the Big House this fall....lets hope for the same kinda game

  • I was at this game one of the best games I have ever been to. I also have the t-shirt of this game signed by Henne, Hart , and Mannignham. Cool video great memories.

  • aww man i wish we still had breaston manningham and hart . :( but i understand michigan football is just going through a rough patch . they will bounce back

  • OCT. 15TH, 2005 The best regular college football saturday ever. This game was one of the many gems that proudly represented college football.

  • i'm glad i was able to witness it in person.

  • What other games?

  • i thank all the OS fans for realizing the positives and negatives of both michigan and ohio. both are excellent teams with tradition and skill. like OS michigan is going through a rough stretch since we lost our RB QB offensive line and WR. however i dislike rich rod as our new coach. i think rod was not the best choice in choosing a new coach. hopefully OSU and Michigan will have more exciting games to come!

  • true fan. thanks for showing there are some people out there who actually pay attention and not just have their heads so far up their teams ass

  • "Ufer is going out of his mind!!!"

  • I'm a Buckeyes fan. Michigan was insanely good every year until RichRod. I really don't understand why Michigan's AD or whoever thought there needed to be a change. Sure, you've lost to OSU a few times in a row, but that's the beauty of the series- both teams stick with tradition and every game is close and competitive. Michigan would come out of it just fine. I was at the most recent OSU-Michigan game and man it was sad to see how Michigan was playing like Indiana or YSU or something..

  • Finally a buckeye fan with a brain, and Michigans AD Bill Martin is a total jackass and an idiot.

  • lol you have no idea what you're talking about

  • I agree, thank you for not being an ignorant jerk off. :) I do 100% agree, Ohio State has been better recently, but Michigan was good also, save for this year.

  • i watched this entire game to the last second

  • I've got season tickets to Michigan games and I have been going for a very long time and I have to say this is my favorite game in the Big House. For this down Michigan squad to beat an undefeated PSU team it was just a great game.

  • It's hard for me to put this game over the braylon edwards show of 2004 against state

  • Antonio Bass was a truely special player. What a shame his knee blew out. i heard he got his degree from Michigan thoguh so I wish him all the best.

  • Ya Bass is from my city and we had such high hopes for him. It was sad for it to happen.

  • this year um have to win and show the college football um football is still the best. um has to get with rich rod and get into the spread offense and change the big ten fuck ohio state and texas.

  • I can still watch this game and get excited.

  • this NEVER gets old

  • boy do i miss this team...even though 2005 was a down year (no where near as bad as last year though), i love to see old highlights of manningham, hart, henne, and hall

  • Antonio Bass.... what a shame he had that knee injury that ended his career ! he was a special talent !

  • would of been nice to see him in the spread offense

  • ever notice the score of this game and the score of the wisconsin game last year are the same? 0_0

  • LOl... how come you dont have Lloyd begging for time on the video?!!?!?!?!? and i know your just gonna delete this but comeon! you shoulda shown the one "catch" again that was reviewed and should ahve been overturned. GO BLOW

  • I included the bogus PSU touchdown that shouldn't have been a score since Henne's knee was down. I also didn't include the clip where JoePa succeeded in getting time back on the clock earlier in the game. It's O.K. for him but it's not O.K. for Lloyd? Lloyd was able to get 2 seconds back when we actually should have had 4 seconds put back up since the clock didn't stop when it should have. One ref even pointed that out later. Either get a brain or learn the facts before you talk trash.

  • you r a typical PSU fan. Always crying about something. How did we cheat when we won 34-8 when you were supposed to be the best team in the country. By the way that was at your house. Get a life!!!

  • @Timko6687 hey that "2 seconds" beat your sorry ass

  • as a psu fan this is one of my favorite games, and yes i know we lost. at the end of the day i can say that i saw one of the greatest halves of football ever played. part of me thinks that michael robinson should get like half a win for this game, he was tough all afternoon. especially after he tossed that pick but then lead us down the field to take the lead. this michigan team loaded......hart, henne, manningham, breaston, woodley, hall..... a lot of guys playing on sunday.

  • Would love to see Antonio Bass in the new offense

  • I remember my dad and I was watching the game and after the incomplete to Breaston my dad was like"it's over, see they choke again." and I was like you never know and then it happen. I still bring it up to him every time we watch this highlights.

  • As you should.

I was at this game and I carried the same attitude, though. Just before the last play, I kept thinking, "No way are we going to pull this out." So happy I was wrong.

As great as the ending of this game was, it should have been over after Leon Hall's interception.

  • As an OSU fan, I can count on one hand the number of times I was happy to see Michigan win. This was one of those times.

  • Michigan for life

  • Never kick to Steve Breaston

  • i remember going to this game when i was 11 which was 4 years ago. the thing i remember was the last td and the fight that broke out in with one of penn states cornerbacks and mike hart lol

  • when i saw that i still had to thrust my fist in the air. it was pure magic. I grew up around the big house and i have been to countless games there but this is by far the most amazing game i have ever seen. I saw it when i was 10 and i still can feel the energy after that play...pure magic

  • Shouldnt have kicked it to steve breaston at 6:36

  • This was a great game. Michigan was one of my favorite teams and I watched the entire game. The play at 3:46 has got be one of the greatest catches I've ever seen in football. Manningham caught the ball around the DB, running down the sideline and he didn't even go out of bounds and he scored. Amazing...

  • Garrett Rivas did he ever play in the NFL? I knew he got signed by the Bucs! but I dont remeber him playing? and NEXT ? is he on MADDEN 09 for ps2?!

  • i loved this game

  • I was at this game, and seeing this still gives me goosebumps. The only other time I've heard the Big House as quiet as it was before Henne threw to Manningham was in 2004 when Henne threw to Edwards in 3OT vs MSU.

  • I was at both of those games as well. Both of those games were insane, remember how many Michigan fans left at the 04 MSU game? Those who stay will be champions.

  • i stayed yeaaaa

  • Why do people keep ripping on PSU? Yeah, they got killed by USC. But that's because USC is only like 10 minutes away from the stadium. Penn State has to go across the country.

PSU also did good against the Trojans' defense.

Also, PSU's other loss (to Iowa) was pretty much a fluke. PSU should have gotten more consideration for the BCS Championship imo.

I'm glad Michigan will have the PSU game in Ann Arbor. This was such a great game. Go Blue!

  • the bcs sucks..again this year the favored the sec...no mather what you think Utah was the only undefeated team in the bcs games and deserved a shot at the national title...

im sick of hearing how good the sec is...

funny thing we hardly ever see the sec travel to Ann arbour, happy valley, south bend, iowa city etc... the sec is always favored...and im sick of USC too

  • I miss Steve Breaston as a return man. We need someone to step up next year and make a difference.

  • If martavious odoms would quit turning the ball over he can be great. The guy that I would really be scared of would be Boubacar Cissoko. He is very talented.

  • I remember the last few minutes of this game. I was screaming when manningham made that touchdown with 1 second to go. thanks for bringing back th memories

  • this game didn't really matter to penn that year -- they would've screwed penn state out of the title game anyway. the big 10 always gets screwed by the voters.

  • true... Ur right as it didn't matter and the voter do screw over anyone except the SEC. but that was the year USC and Texas actually went wire to wire as 1 and 2. So even if Penn St. had won that game they wouldn't have gone to the National Title game because preseason 1 and 2 were still undefeated...

  • Breaston's returns KILLED PSU in this game!!! This game is so hard to watch!!!

  • i was there too, besides the wisconsin game of 2008 that was the best game i have ever been to.

  • looked like Iowa all over for penn state

  • Would of been nice to see Bass in RR's offense

  • He's still on scholarship getting a degree in Communications. It's really nice to see a determined guy make the best out of a career ending injury.

  • we ruined penn states season that year i love it

  • This was the best game I have seen in my life. I thought the game was over when Penn scored that touchdown. But Henne to Mannigham was a connection you could not beat. In 2006 Michigan almost had a perfect season. I hope Michigan does much better then they did this year

  • Bob Griese is the Wolverines' lucky charm at home.

  • exact same score as the wisconsin game 2 days ago? Coincidence much? 2 huge comebacks?

  • I sat in the same seats this game as I did the Wisconsin Game last night.

  • Love the reaction of the PSU band at 8:48.

  • was one of the greatest games i have seen, i was at that game. Penn State fans behind us were crying afterwards. Over 111,000 people screaming their heads off is amazing. Go Blue

  • i was there too, I cried. amazing game

    GO BLUE!!

  • watch the clock at 30 seconds it keeps running and no whistles are blown for a timeout. what a bad call

  • None of these videos show how lloyd carr stopped the game for about ten minutes to get 2 more seconds on the clock,PUNK The Wolverines called timeout after a Henne pass completion with the clock stopped at :28. Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr called the officials over, and after a protest by Carr and a long conference, the officials reset the game clock to 0:30. Those extra two seconds would turn out to impact the outcome of the game. Six plays later, with 0:01 on the clock, Michigan would score

  • Did you just copy that from Wiki? If so, nice job.

But anyway, this was one of the best games I've watched. That 4th quarter was insane.

  • id say thats just what any decent coach would do, give your team a chance to win any way possible. joe pa would do the same so eat crow rangerfx4, shitty truck too by the way....lol

  • yeah the acoustics at michigan stadium aren't great for noise. But the new renovations are specifically designed to increase noise level and to keep it in. Check out the new construction and you can see that it closes in the open sky a little more and will keep the noise inside more.

  • I find it ironic that just as Griese is talking about how the noise doesn't stay in Michigan Stadium, the crowd lets loose an absolutely enormous roar when Manningham catches the touchdown.

I'm a Penn State fan forever, but the atmosphere at the Big House is outstanding; I don't understand why people don't give it more respect.

  • michigan dominated up front and chad henne picked ur secondary apart!

  • For three quarters. But then Penn State took over, but the game still ended in shocking fashion. Even though I attribute that loss to bad calls, I also attribute it to Penn State spotting them a 10-0 lead.

  • Still ties knots in my stomach. Such a tough loss to swallow...

Much respect to Michigan for pulling through. It's one of the greatest games in college football history.

  • The game that saved the BCS from another three undefeated team debacle.

Remember the USC-Oklahoma-Auburn BCS controversy of 2004?

If Manningham doesn't catch that, same situation, different teams.

  • PLAYOFFS!!!

  • I went to this game. And I can't tell you how loud the staduim was when Manningham scored. I was jumpin up and down. Everyone was really, I huged a complete stranger next to me. Everyone did. It's true that because of the way the staduim is built the noise eaisly escapes. But at the end of the game it certainley stayed.
