good vid nd nice setup ... im not trolling now ... i understand that people who are into flying jets as a hooby on fs are dedicated and want the best simulation possible but is the tag on the shirt and the sunglasses not a bit too far ,,, correct me if im wrong but its a bit ridiculous .. its a simulatour not a fancy dress party...
@oktal3700 Your comment did make me laugh! And I must admit to executing some utter howlers of landing myself over the years....there have been more than a few fatalities in FS Passengers!
I was the approach controller in most of this video. You guys did a great job. Actually most of the pilots during this fly-in were pretty good. Thanks for flying ZNY and see you next CTP!
@nigelmtb Lots of practice. I have been a virtual controller for over 10 years (even before VATSIM existed) and I am also a real world ATP. During this CTP, Boston Center also gave us very nice miles-in-trail spacing which was very helpful. If it were not for them, it would have been been a lot more crazy on the approach frequency. It just goes to show you how crucial it is that different air traffic control facilities work together.
@clayton4115 He flies the Socata TB10. This is apparently a subdivision of Airbus, so he tells me he flies the second smallest aircraft Airbus makes! It's sweet too, Greg has kindly taken me with him a couple of times.
I'm a boeing man but this cockpit is very good to fly!! I hope that you change,ADD or simply put the monitors toghether and centralized. YOU'RE IN THE RIGHT WAY.
landing may be because 1. Greg had not heard you had said: auto brake LOW. 2. when you switched to a different freq because TWR would leave his position, Greg looked down at ND display so he was out of position. 3. I also think that Greg did not have things on the flare because achieving the high speed landing so you must be very careful with flare, otherwise you're going to rise.
@kristianfogdal Hi Christian. The fact I am a real world pilot but on an unfamiliar machine and flying as first officer to someone a lot more competent on type played it's part. As pilot flying I accept full responsibility for the incident. I find 'the picture' strange and difficult in such a realistic setup. (cont'd)

@gc206654 Nigel calling that I was floating did put me off a bit but I don't put that forward as an excuse. It was a fairly strong X-wind I don't put forward that as an excuse. What I would say is it was challenging conditions given the unfamiliarity with the set up and the human factors and I should have gone around,
I am a pilot with 1200 hours, 200 real, 1000 virtual and I hope this demonstrates to pilots never to ignore the human factors and to the pilot monitoring never to be afraid to take control at any time. Kristian you are right. I levelled off and did not correct early enough. Like my earlier landings in light aircraft, too fast means you float. But we are all learning, and I enjoyed the learning experience and welcome your observations, which are very accurate.
@nigelmtb beamer beamer beamer beamer beamer, I don't think i can stress it any more. The difference between a visual display 150 x 50 cm or 200 x 200 cm is enormous, take my word for it. if you want immersivity then go for a beamer. simple. done. TG2Go is too expensive anyway and beamer can also be used if you want to watch a good movie on our wall :)
@danGigantic Thanks! The Metar was 280/16G35KT and the A320 simulates an autorudder, which does not work too well when straightening out the crab angle, hence the drift (I avoid aileron inputs at low altitudes) and I don't think the autobrakes engaged, and I couldn't get enough purchase on the toe brakes to cause them to engage. Mind was on last orders so I didn't go around.
@nigelmtb Yeah that's everyones main downfall.. you should look at the USA which is where i'm doing my training for 1/2 the price it is over here. Or Consider a loan from bank which you will pay of slowly?
That was a GO AROUND.... :-\

Rather than just cross the pond you should try a domestic flight which has a higher work load on a countries online day. Would be nice to see.

Do you use payware aircraft

@PilotInCommand100 Yes, the Wilco Airbus Volume 1 and 2. There is no other decent competitor, sadly.
