Head movement in GRID isnt synced good at all. Seems like it wants to snap to the center view all the time. Also your driving sucks, i wont forgive you ;)

You will need a "cockpit-style game". (Like rFactor, Grid, FSX, IL2...)

There is an open-source version out there called "FreeTrack", that with some quick-cheap mods lets you try the idea of the system out before committing to the outrageous price of the "Real" thing. (Natural-Points Tracker has 100fps and better tracking.)

Playing "cockpit-style" games without a head-tracker, is like playing FPS without a mouse.

I have already ordered TrackIR. It will be here by March. I have FSX, FS9, IL-2, and Lock-On. I always use the virtual cockpit in landings. Plus I got ActiveCamera for FS9.

I fly IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 flightsim alot..and in Arma(armed assult)militarysim this little thingy is awesome..coming sims as arma2 and OFP2 supports this trackir too

Im a Pacific Fighters and Lock On player and i can tell that Track IR brings a really great and awesome experience, and the best of all, i improved my performance in dogfighting too

Actually, with the TrackIR software's motion scaling capabilities, you can adjust the movement to be as sensitive as you'd like. It's possible to change your in-game viewpoint to look completely over your shoulder (virtually) while still looking at the screen in real life.

just got mine. here's the Problem. when in the F9 Virtual mode, getting lots of Floating movement, which makes it very difficult to try and keep your mouse pointer over the switches. everything is "moving" and "Floating" around.

yes, great views for looking out the window, but it seems for those who want to make it "as real as Possible" (Me)

and who were hoping that you can just use the Virtual Cockpit, and all "original" switch locations, and zoom it to toggle them, well..quite difficult ?????

Once you play with TrackIR in a game that supports it, doing without it just feels asinine afterward. It really does wonders for your situational awareness when playing something like IL-2 Sturmovik or Falcon 4.0, though I sadly can't say that it instantly made me not suck at dogfighting. (At least I don't get taken by surprise nearly as often, though.)

The only problem is that the only FPS that I know of that supports it is Armed Assault. That ought to change.

thats what i have a problem with also. because the IR will always keep the view centered on the 1st screen, moving your head defeats the purpose of the TiR. Perhaps it's just something you have to get used to over time but its still not as natural as people make it seem. at least in my not quite so honest opinion ;-)
