I stumbled upon this YT video, and thought this was the original video to the song, having not been familiar with it, prior.

Then, I read the description.

This video is a perfect match in tone, texture, pace, rhythm, mood, color - everything.

Wow, that was amazing...as many others have said, beautiful visuals, and they just work incredibly well with the music. May I ask how long this took you to film?

The video took about four days to film.  Mostly because of the time lapse sequences. Editing took another four days. So I guess this was just around a week long project.

Hi.

Can anyone name a NIN song I lost track over time? Could post a sheet if asked. Sounds almost similar fashion as this song, but first heard it around Year 2002/3. Don't know when it was made, as it was in a presentation. Can't find it on YouTube. The style: instrumental of peizo buzzer "rap" for a chorus, then to a Grandfather Clock winding down, then into an instrumental with a Xylophone that sounds like a Windchime. 2/3 through does it open into a scream & a metal guitar, IIRC.

Thank you. The music reminds me of the passing of time. Kind of a "day in the life" sort of thing. It seems that the older one gets, the quicker time seems to pass. I suppose at some point you learn to accept that, at which point memories become more important. We all have our own ways of documenting our lives, either with photographs or writing (the typewriter) or in more modern times, with video. To me, the keys are a reminder of all of the secrets and memories that are locked away.

?You didnt watch it long enough- at the end a bank robber pops out and the cops have a shoot out and then after the commercial break we realize that the robber was really a time travelling- misfit who was trying to fund his trip home, but it's too late as he falls into a hail of bullets, dying peacfully as the scenery dissolves into a cartoon circus/kaliedescope montage set to that volkswagen disco- song.

I intend to do more of these, but many of them probably won't be as "pretty" as this one. Much of the music is very dark and heavy. But I've got things I've been needing to get out of my system for a while, so this should be a great outlet!

I'm really interested to see what you do!!! These videos set to music are... interpretation, I think. And some visual forms don't fit as well into certain musical forms as others. When the music gets very dark and heavy, I think light and shadows... maybe even stark, perhaps in B&W, with strong clean images. That's what came to my mind. Not sure how that would translate into actual photos... keep me posted if you care to. Your process is actually pretty amazing!
