  • :') faith restored in the next generation

  • Wow. This kid. I just want to give him a big hug.

  • little boy, you made my day!

  • Amazing kid.

  • An incredible power of example. Brilliant. You too "Live long and prosper" Will Phillips! (2)

  • An incredible power of example. Brilliant. You too "Live long and prosper" Will Phillips!

  • what a courageous boy!

  • this gives a 55 year old man ,hope yet in our youth making the real changes we only dreamed of ... From the mouth of a child we may find our inner humanity toward each other

  • Good on Him this kid is going to be a very Important Man 1 day!!! With the knowledge he has at his young age is amazing!

  • That kid is beyond awesome.

  • I love this kid. ♥

  • Epic..

  • I just don't like him.

  • In a free society, you, as Master Will Phillips, are equally entitled to your point of view and opinion. It is my hope THIS is the just one of the ideals of our forefathers for which ALL Americans can be patriotic & protect. Peacefully_ and this is MY opinion, perspective & hope.

  • that kid looks like mandark from dexter's laboratory

  • wow. a socialist prodigy.

  • In a free society, you are entitled to any limiting views on the perspectives of others that you care to espouse about people you do not know. I wonder of you can hear that many of your citizen brethren & sisters also want that the protectionist fervor of your labels NOT limit to limit the next person's choices. There are those who can live side-by-side with this difference, and peacefully accept that is how it is. Can you?

  • Uhmmm... I bet this kid doesn't understand half of what he's saying.... :S

  • When I listened to the first news broadcast in which this child was interviewed with his father present, it was clear the young man was expressing a perspective that is not particularly shared by the father. Yet, this parent's love for his son seems to trump in-family arguing. Mr. Phillips' parenting choices also seem to indicate a fundamental respect that his child may be developing differently than he may have expected. What's your ability to take this consideration in?

  • No, he does, he wrote about 90% of it himself.

  • i like his analogies in this video thier quite funny lol way to insult a political super power that runs the united states of america

  • I don't say the pledge of allegiance in school because I'm sticking it to Big Brother. Do I get on the news? No. It's all a conspiracy, man.

  • Hilarious how idiots are so eager to believe this kid is coming up with all this shit on his own. "It suits my agenda so it must be legit".

  • I might ask, what is your exposure to the arts, for example? Throughout human history there have always been child prodigies... I hope you have exposure to a child prodigy in your lifetime. Try taking in the arts meanwhile, starting out only with things that you truly like. See how you might build a new habit of exposure to new things that really bring added pleasure to you.

  • You heard him speak, right? The kid speaks better than most adult men, even if he's reading a script which is likely his own words. Even if he had help putting his own words into a good speech, so what? It's still clearly his own sentiment and he certainly is more intelligent than you are...

  • wow. so his parents want to make a quick buck off of him eh?

this is what is wrong with the gay civil rights movement. You cannot seperate the people that want change from the people that want media attention.

  • Wow, I just love when idiots have something not worthwhile to say. IF you bother to take one idiot moment of your life to look into what this kid did, you would know that he did it out of his OWN DECISION. Nobody prompted him to not stand and say the pledge.

  • thats whats up

  • Obama isn't half as smart as this kid.

  • intelligent, or... A ROBOT?

I think i saw a guy in the back talking into his hand. And as you will notice he acted like a deer in headlights after he was done speaking, they escorted his every move! Conspiracy.

  • i am pretty sure that he was not the one that wrote the speech, if it was his own writing, he would not have chocked that much how big words.

  • wow, I thought this kid actualy wrote this speach until he said "live long and prosper" someone older had to have wrote that for him

  • i wan the person who wrote him that to write my senior's thesis

  • LMAO, he sounds like the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons!

  • what did he do? any links?

  • um , i understand he is a very intelligent child, however, shouldnt he be more worried about things like being a kid, now he will be under so much pressure to "perfom" he will miss out on those things. you only live once

  • He didn't write that you morons!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:48 = NERD! No offense

  • I go to school with this kid, and i have to say he did a very good thing, but he's not "the gift from god". Will is rude, and immature to so many people. With all this publicity he believes now that he is way better than everyone else. I'm not a hater, I'm just relieving some of the truth.

  • He is not that smart cause if he was he would know about the New World Order. Maybe its just cause he is naive to the world around him. Anyone that comments on me is alos ignorant to the fact the the New World Order does exist. Since you have internet acces search zeitgeist.

  • @UniverseNews Wow, talk about conspiracy theory. I'm a little afraid of people that come up with these ideas. Furthermore, if there's a new world order . . . I'm all for it. One world united, under one government. Perhaps we can then achieve peace! We all share this planet, and I wish we weren't all so divided.

  • why doesnt harry potter have a british accent here?

  • lol

  • Kid looks like Harry Potter.

No wonder he's complaining of being bullied in this video.

  • Too bad most politicians aren't this intelligent.

  • Future president? I think so!

  • Oh wow, this kid is ridiculous. He's smarter then me and I'm 17.

Time to go read the dictionary.

  • cute kid.

  • Is this Rosa Parks reborn?

Amazing what he has done already!

  • This kid kicks ass.

  • Wow... he wrote that at the age of 10... i'm shocked :O

  • a true intelligent child

  • You mean "truly"?

  • @Crusader3451 As wrong as all that is, you SHOULD be sorry to "tell" us all

  • Is that Harry Potter?

  • lol

  • He's an adorable liitle man:)He's gonna be preisident someday! (I hope his parents, who seem really sweet- get help with their obesity so they won't pass bad food habits on to him.) And I pray that he won't get attacked for being so brave. God bless him. xx

  • so who is he?

  • @skyemcleod1 - He's an Arkansas student who passed on saying the Pledge of Allegiance because he felt that there are plenty of examples -- namely the blocking of same-sex marriage -- where the U.S. fails to provide "liberty and justice for all."

As a result, lots of media attention. What was once suspected as being pushed by his parents, it's become clear this is basically his own doing.

  • its amazing to hear it from a ten year old boy.

i just wish her mommy didn't wrote it for him.

  • LOL

  • WHAT DID THIS KID DO ?

  • he refused to say the pledge

  • This is fake. I saw how it was staged by MTV and those people are all actors.

  • He is awesome!

  • I never understood the boy's logic for not pledging to the flag because of gay marriage. What would have happened if his reason had been because abortion is legal or there is no prayer in public schools? I wonder what the reaction would have been like. I don't think the boy would have been given any awards or would have be praised as a hero. The whole story is a joke if you ask me. Real little kids don't care about gay marriage.

  • i sence our next president XD

  • to anyone that has figured it out...he says "oh, sorry" because his dad keeps telling him to hold for applause and he keeps forgetting. that's all. smart kid. i hope i have the chance to meet this young man one day.

  • I applaud.

  • this guy looks like hes been fed these words....

  • Someone probably wrote this out for him to read in order to try to get some points across thinking this child would get more attention than the actual writer would. The flaw in this is that no one is going to take this kid seriously.

  • No, communism is like everyone gets ham and cheese hot pockets, what this kid is going for is so one can choose pizza hot pockets, or even the breakfast pockets and that choice is perfectly ok. It's not wrong or right, it's just a choice and equal to all other choices. The greatest strides in society and culture have happened because someone who thought or acted differently challenged the status quo. And whoever does that, including this kid has my respect.

  • mega nerd!!!

  • epic kid is epic

  • hahaha thats an adorable kid!!

  • first of all, he rose to fame just because he refused to say the pledge of alligiance in his classroom. so he's being reconized and rewarded for showing how un-american he is?

  • lol hes too smart to understand

  • Why do people think he's faking? It's easy to see that he genuinely cares about this stuff, and he's obviously smarter than a lot of you.

  • give the kid something to read offf of and bam, you get the crowd going gaga

  • This kid wants everyone to be equal...

Communism, I guess thats why he mentioned Obama.

  • he talks FUNNY. HUHUHUH.

  • This kid has gusto!

  • Very annoying kid Starboy? This kid will own you and so will I.

  • Talk about a little condescending ... lol

  • 10 yr old are not intelligent in the most needed area, which is street smart.

A 10 yr old is a recruit . You can be smart all you want, but in any street you must be smarter, not IQ wise. =p

Only adults have equality. The constitution is guaranteed to persons above 18 yrs old. Do you know why? Because you have the ability to vote at such age, therefore the ability to lust in your rights.

Anyone under is within the mercy of the adults 'cuz not all children are rationale. Esp Teenagers.

  • hahahaha the way this kid talks and ends his sentences sounds like Dr. Evil. Thats hilarious

  • Lol this kid is kinda a nerd...just saying. The whole spock thing...

  • live long and prosper buddy

  • like... most people. XD Cute kid.

  • It's Harry Potter!

  • The kid is brilliant, and he merely spoke of equality for all - not specifically about sex. Equality for all is a fundamental tenet of our human respect for one another - if it includes sexuality, so be it. The fact that the kid sees it is commendable. Your cynicism is unworthy of even a tenth of the praise that the kid deserves.

  • Awesome speech :).

  • What did he get the award for?

  • this is great. He seems more aware of his surroundings and more intelligent than most adults I know.

  • Alright... as smart as this kid may be, he is TEN. he has no opinions of his own. at that age you blindly accept what your parents told you. this boy is getting all this publicity for gay rights, but his parents are the ones pushing it. he has no idea what he wants or agrees with at that age, regardless of his IQ. and last I checked our country goes out of its way to make gays "special", they are held in a higher place now then straight people. so refusing to say the pledge is idiotic.

  • lol this kid totally didnt write that... and he talks like dr evil from the austin powers movies >_> very annoying.

  • im smarter than him

  • Comment removed

  • great vid! new update on my channel!

  • I can see this kid being the richest in the world, topping that one Mexican dude.

  • It'd be nice if all people who didn't say the pledge had a good reason and put some thought into it like him, most of my school won't say it because they're too lazy or "cool."

  • funny

  • who's Will Phillips

  • this is inspiring.

  • this is inspiring.

  • sorry but does this kid have anyfriends i mean look at him listen to him he should focus on getting some friends

  • @snipershot55 No. People made fun of him for believing in equality so no. And he refuses to have friends who don't respect his opinions I'm guessing...

  • this kid is amazing. lol

  • this kid...

  • I think a lot of people would be surprised to find that many kids his age are also as smart. Obviously they can't express themselves in a world full of people who would automatically call them fakes and stupid, annoying little kids.

  • kid sounds so arrogant

  • why does he put so much emphasis on his L's??????!!!!!!

  • i sense a new balloon boy ...

  • I bet he has gotten a lot of indifference from others... I don't like this kid. :|

  • no ten your old talks like that .....such a fake speache

  • "My Mommy said she'd buy me the new poke'mon game if i learned how to read!"

    Crowd: WOWOOWOOWOWOOOOOOOWOOOOO

  • Yes, my puppet, read these papers... Move your mouth... YES I AM ZEEEEEEEEEE PUPPET MASTER!

PS: I'm 10 years old and I believe activism is important!!

  • that guy looks like harry potter ,no offense.

  • this kid is amazing...

  • Im sorry to tell you kid and everyone else who is readibg this but equalism is communism, that is the basis of communsim: one for all and all for one. But life is that way no one will ever be just as equal to the person standing next to them.

  • "...all men are created equal" comes from what document?

  • @Crusader3451 well said

  • I'm sorry to tell you, Crusader, but this boy is not advocating "equalism" -- he's advocating equality in specific domains, the only area where it means anything. If equality as a goal equals "communism," then the United States is built on communism, but you've misunderstood or are deliberately misrepresenting the issue in the service of your own agenda ... whatever that is. Anticommunism uber alles? I dunno.

  • @Crusader3451 thats not exactly true. Communism is the idea that everyone owned by the governement essentially.

  • @Crusader3451 lol thats fine I rather live with communism if that where true

  • @Crusader3451 Congrats, you totally missed the point.

  • Equality in rights means equality in access to opportunity. In a capitalistic society it is the citizens responsibility to aquire a skill set which is valued by society and thus may provide a living for ones-self. Restriction of availability to opportunity for a people within a capitalistic society is inefficient, it results in a less-than-optimized allocation of the limited supply to the limitless demand, and thus non-maximized profit. Don't hate on the kids legit words.

  • @Crusader3451

well that is one place where communisim suceeds. Open you mind im not preaching for communism but not all aspects of it are bad.

  • @Crusader3451 As wrong as all that is, you SHOULD be sorry to "tell" us all that.

  • @Crusader3451 As wrong as all that is, you SHOULD be sorry to "tell" us all that.

  • @Crusader3451 As wrong as all that is, you SHOULD be sorry to "tell" us all that.

  • fake some1 wrote this for him

  • Never heard of prepubescents going to University before? Oh wait. You're just trollin'.

  • You're probably right. Ah well.

  • thanks to cnn?? i wonder which teacher wrote this for him..

  • @DeDodgingEse Yes. Some" "1" who can spell.

  • VERY annoying kid.

  • AGREED

  • Live Long and PROSPERRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

This kid is going to be sombody!

  • Clearly didn't "wrote" it himself.

    'Nuff said.

  • @mr39jeffy Write*

Honestly, you're bagging on this kid when you can't even type correctly! Go somewhere where your opinion is wanted, not here.

Will is a smart kid. What other ten year old you know would stand up, or in this case sit down, for equality? Kudos!

  • ignorance is bliss

  • @chucknorisclone ray williams lol

  • um wuts with the sound?

  • amazing, he can read a piece of paper..

  • Amazing. You can type.

  • i was just gonna say.. true activists write speeches from heart.

  • lol..... The paper that his Mom wrote

  • @Ry386 yep

  • this kid is going to be like one of the richest guys because he is smart i dont see why people get bullied for being smart

  • thats not being smart, those people "grown-ups" all know what hes talking about, you learn about equality your freshman year of highschool, i knew about equality (communism) since i was 7 years old, doesnt exactly make me a genious...

  • @leaf20222 jealous

  • @leaf20222 they get bully for being smart cause kids are educated and they know when they grow up they will be something in life instead of a person working at Burger King

  • that kid is awesome

  • smart kid :)

  • He's such an amazing kid

  • Comment removed

  • awesome.

  • I admire this great kid for his extreme bravery! PS... if you say 'a kid can't be that smart'... apparently you don't realize how badly that makes you look like a moron. Go Will!!

  • What an amazing kid. He has an odd accent.... it sounds like a combination of a southern american accent and an Irish accent. Love it.

  • Yeap, I know that you as a kid were as much intelligent. Not. Well, you can keep bleeding your pain. Time changes.

  • Is that kid actually a Vulcan?!

  • This kid is frickin awesome !!!!

  • Harry potter?? No but seriously, hes adorable.

  • to whoever commented to me last(strange that i can't find the comment, or my original post) let me just say that was the best argument in favor of insane selfishness that I have ever heard.

  • The best! If only my parents watched such things.

  • @wiishi: Hee! He does! That was pretty awesome.

  • woot.

  • spock xD

  • I'm jealous

  • great speech but why did his dad put his hand on him and then the boy said sorry??
