"Dina Lam" means "My name". This song is a celebration for all the mothers...
The first part of the lyrics is about the past, about all the difficulties and deceptions his mother(??,maybe) suffered. In the second part he says (a summary):
Pfff... I can't stop listening to his beautiful music! His voice is angelic! :) Does anyone have the original lyrics maybe? I have looked all over internet and I cannot find anything!
I would love to have the lyrics and translation. Would you by chance have others or a resource on his lyrics/translations? It would be awesome. Thanks.
Folks, I talked to so many Camerounians, of the Douala tribe like Richard Bona and all tald me that It ain't easy to translate Richard's lyrics as he is so deep in the prose and poetry that's not reachable to everyday dude! The mystery of the words, magic bass lines, all keep the beauty of the man!
I will try again and get some songs translated, be it calling and paying experts from an appropriate faculty in Douala or Yaoundé. Calling the embassy here could also help ... damn, what can't we do to reach the RB magic words!! Huh!
sitting back with a joint and chillin to this song is one of my favourite things to do. Richard Bona just brings a fresh soulful sound to jazz/world/funk genre.

"Mother, I would not exist without you
You are all cortesy and respectful to everyone and everything
You are a Queen
Now I'm sure of that
Rising children, a toil without any crown
Now, of that I'm sure
Years have come and gone
Now, you're tired and
You may finally have some rest"

You're right, and it's never easy to translate lyrics in a fitting way.
But what a pity for us euros, well never know it...

Gracias por subir esta belleza!!!
Es una lástima que por no ser como lo que venden los medios, no se conozca tanto como se merece un artista tan grande.
