Incredible, I admire the technology and hope it is good for the environment.However, as it flies over Asia and Africa I wonder about the starving masses who hardly have enough to eat. Moreover, in this day and age is the leather interior ethical?
I don't see the connection between a large aircraft and people not eating. Most of the problems with food in Africa are caused by political instability, wars etc, which disrupt normal agriculture. Zimbabwe used to be one of the wealthiest most prosperous countries in Africa, but now because of badly-handled land reforms and a brutal power-hungry leadership they're unable to feed their own population and have 80% unemployment.
I agree 100% where Africa is concerned. Zimbabwe is a racist nation the White farmers and Asian business people were either expelled or had their lands and business taken by the corrupt Mugabe regime to give to blacks. Zimbabwe is dreadful.
how can you say that Zimbabwe is a racist nation?!! i do agree with the fact that Mugabe's regime is the worse ever and taking the lands and businesses away wasn't the answer but saying the country itself is racist is a bit far fetched specially when considering how that nation just like other nations were treated by those "whites" before independence!
ancupola, this aircraft has nothing to do at all with starving poverty-stricken people in Africa as nokiagaming stated below. I'm not going to get into this too far, but yes, leather is ethical. Think of all the millions of cars made every year with leather, I'm 100% certain that the amount used tops the amount in some airline seats and there is no shortage of leather or anything, not like all animals will go extinct.....
It has already won awards for being one of the best business class. Most J class is longer because of the design needed to accomodate fully flat bed, but SQ did it in a way that wouldn't need to waste space. For width, it makes the bed very nice. For sitting in it, just place a pillow, very comfy. Don't take my word for it, read some of the reviews!
