I saw Roy in cabaret in Manchester England in1972/73.  He was brilliant. He was one of the greatest artists ever, maybe matched by a couple, but no one better. He was lost too soon as a number were. Great that we have the music to relive some great memories of an era gone. How I miss the sixties, such fun.

Orbison first recorded the song in 1987, but his rendition was not released until 1992, after the song had become a top 10 hit on both sides of the Atlantic for Cyndi Lauper in 1989.

I don't think much of the graininess of this video... JP and JC are great though! Where are any clips of RO singing??? He has a phenomenal voice! As an aside: I think Roy sang this song with KD Laing on a PBS Special that would knock your socks off. Cyndi Lauper's YouTube Video is awesome too: *amazing* voice, comes from the heart and total body yearning vs. Celine Dion's version which just showcases a good voice and nothing else. Celine is a powerhouse performer but where is the PASSION???
