  • I heard this song in Quadraphonic sound. MIND BENDING !!!

  • i just came to see what the number one hit was when I was born ;o)

  • this is pure perfection

  • very very very very very very gooooooooooooood

  • this song is fun to play on guitar hero

  • good song to get high

  • With Santana's music, you can feel the heat of the sun baking in the sand. And two lovers lying in it-

  • ¡Mágico! y ¡extraordinario!

  • Its amazing how people know about other great bands but not the best one... funny isnt it?

  • esta´super esta versión

  • first time i heard this song i said "hmmm sounds alot like Jimi Hendrix"

  • @usernameinvalid8 Have you heard how they turn "Gypsy Queen" (the instrumental second half of the tune) into "Third Stone from the Sun" in concert? They work together seamlessly, which probably explains why you thought this sounded like Hendrix.

  • sorry guys, but this song became epic with Santana's tone. This is a fact.

  • Hey Stupid its remarks like that , at bars that get people hurt dumbass.

  • To the people arguing. All due respect to Peter Green who was a great talent. but Carlos made this song into a epic for the ages.

  • When I first hear this my brain orgasmed, died, and was reborn.

  • @59lespaul100 Fleetwood Mac didn't cover it you dumbass they made it.

  • @OldMusicftw Then Carlos perfected it.

  • Who cares it is steal a song for the ages BECAUSE OF SANTANA

  • Fleet wood Mac musican may have wrote it . But like anything else in life who made it a great song Santana Santana Santana. Like America is great it was stolen from the American Indians

  • @robj1men Just like the injuns stole it from someone else and them before them.

  • got a black magic woman, got a black magic woman i got a black magic woman so blind i cant see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was inbetween 4&5 years old when this album was released. I thank my parents and God for giving them such great taste in music. This is part of my roots. I was raised listening to this as well as so many other great clasics. I am greatful as I was fortunate enough to be growing up in the east bay of northern CA at such an important period of time for music. This is just one shining example of how music deeply touches the soul. Thank you Carlos & company!

  • I bought this album on vinyl and played it all the time. The first song "Swinging winds crying beasts" was an excellent expression of modern jazz." Black Magic Woman" stands apart for the guitar solo that proved Santana is a master musician. The bass line was virtuosity personified. The latin percussion made it a favorite in hispanic populations throughout America (Central & Southern too) "Oye como va" was original by Tito Puente. But his rendition packs more power. Truly a masterpiece of pop.

  • All Blacks magic.-.

  • This is when I started playing the congas, that was when I was in my 20's and I got to so good, but of course it was because of santana, there early years in the 70's. Going on 60 and I can still keep up a great percausion tune. And because of this group.

  • @INANOUT6969 Wow, you're so fucking original.

  • @INANOUT6969 kill them all , and shut up :D

  • Do this on clean vinyl and you will sail to the heavens!

  • 14 people paused the video before 3:40 not knowing they could of got their faces melted off.

  • Rip the audio from this song at thetunify doht cohm.

  • 14 people have no friends..

  • 21st century music can't even come close to comparing with classic rock.

  • got herbage?

  • @athruz09ful he has that effect on people...

  • @athruz09ful "im a traveler of time and space".......

  • A TRUE MASTERPEACE....... GREAT MUSIC. THE BEST OF THE BEST ........ sweetirene50@yahoo.com

  • great song

  • Una de las canciones más excitantes que jamás se haya concebido desde la sensibilidad de un corazón apasionado por expresarse, y que permanecerá indeleble en la eternidad del alma colectiva, sonido emocional e iridiscente del mundo.

  • I like this version because it sound more enchanted and more mystical then fletwood mac version!!!

  • @Mratking1 Fair enough, just sounds cheesy to me, sorry but it really does :)

  • Fabulous album cover

  • Can't beat the original. This has nothing on it. Peter Green is the man!

  • @psychedelicporcupine this is way better and Santana made it famous so who did it better...yea i thought so

  • @ftwfckyea Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green) did better. Far, far better. The fact that more people bought Santana's version does nothing to convince me that its good music. More people prob bought Spice Girls albums than some Santana albums, does that make the Spice Girls better than Santana? By your logic it does...so put down that guitar and Santana album and get listening to some Spice Girls! Haha. It's just middle-of-the-road crap. It has nothing on the FM version, I stand by my initial statement

  • @psychedelicporcupine spice girls...who the fuck cares about them and who the hell listens to that shit now and days. stop trying to make urself feel better cos Santana is better then fleetwood mac. you can have black magic woman, i'll throw Europa and that song alone would tear a hole in peter green

  • @ftwfckyea No-one listens to the Spice Girls, lol. That was entirely my point though. Just because they have high sales figures doesn't mean they are good (as in the case of the Spice Girls, who are utter drivel). I feel the same applies with Santana... higher sales then the Mac but IMO nowhere near as raw and passionate as the original was. I have no need to comfort myself, I am quite happy with my preference. I have no idea what you are talking about with Europa by the way.

  • @psychedelicporcupine listen to Europa from Santana. anyway Fleetwood Mac and Peter Green are good musicians too

  • this is really the best, unfourgotten music!!!!!! sweetirene50@yahoo.com

  • 11 retards need a lesson in music

  • Winter land New Years Eve late 70's back to back to back and closed the hall down... so sad so sweet. Front row was elbows on the stage and he would come out in a white sequins glitter suit with tassels hangin off him and crouch down and do this solo right in front of our eyeballs... I will never forget it. Ty to allaya partyers and rockers out there! Burn one for me!

  • tengo el vinilo.todavìa suena bièn.

  • I purchased this album about five times on wax (yes, there was music before CD's and mp3's). Played the grooves off it some many times. Playing music on 33 rpm wax was a whole different experience, not forgetting the cool door posters that come with the album. Different times but don't miss'em.

  • from 3:40 to the end is pura vida....gets me all ...i dunno...it's like something possesses me to air guitar the hell out of this and bang on the table like a wild drumming maniac......hooo ah!

  • @rowdymax1

Yeah.... that's Gabor Szabo's "Gypsy Queen"

    Check it out on youtube...

  • "Classic Rock" stations should have their licenses revoked whenever they don't play the full version of this song....or at least turn in their man card.

  • 11 ppl will have a spell put on them...and not a good one..lol.

  • grrreat song, in my opinion :)

  • I am 26 and love to read the heartfelt comments from older people connected to this music. It enhanches the experience of listening this song imagining how much memories are attached to it!

  • @Staalstraal Me too... cause I was there. Left a nugget for you ... =)

  • All this and not ONE rap lyric! This is Justin Bieber's worst nightmare.....

  • Shit my pants when my dad showed me the original by fleetwood mac 0.0....

  • My dad has this album. The vinyl. I used to think the picture was so cool. This and Harry Chapin Portrait Gallery.

  • when I was quite young (17), me and friends would get high on beer and pot while listening to this soulfull music. I'm now 62 and don't smoke or drink much, all I need is the sound of Santana to send off to nirvana!

  • Ahhh.. I remember when this album... and this song... was released. And it is as great now as it was back then.

  • 800th vote. Hell yeah.

  • see now 11 people are just plain retarded

  • 11 guys don't know what is a real musical orgasm. I'm sorry but this song is smooth and also powerfull, calm and electric. It makes me feel full of love and desire, and that's the point of the song : if a song of love creates on me a full and deep love, it's perfect ! Santana played the most wonderful musical love. Brilliant !

  • LIsten to Gregg Rolie, very good vocalist

  • i want to press like button, but is on 666 and i better left it

  • @tptsabritas I was about to press the like button when i saw your comment

  • we all messed with drugs then, thank carlos for reinventing latin music, and thanks for getting clean, a long time ago! bb

  • santana didnt write this song. amazing rendition of it though.

  • There's nothing in today's garbage that even comes close to this artistry.

  • How can someone dislike this song?

  • What's the album

  • @2theothers2 Abraxas

  • Good music never gets old!

  • Two members of this version of Santana quit the group in 1973 to form Journey ("Wheel in the Sky," "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'," "Don't Stop Believin'," "Open Arms" and "Faithfully"): they were keyboardist-singer Gregg Rolie and guitarist Neal Schon. But Rolie would leave Journey in 1980 to rejoin Santana, and Rolie's position was filled by Jonathan Cain, late of the Babys.

  • @ClassicTVMan1981X And Journey and Santana would play New years eve at winterland a number of times including the last show at the hall b4 closin it for good.

  • Santana is one of the very best I've been listening to him for 44 years and he never gets old signed 2slo4me2!

  • this video sucks... and so do "da Bears"

    Also you are a fag

  • @thestufford

    Obvious troll is obvious

  • I'd Like this to be the theme for every time I'm wearing a suit and walk into a room...

  • @DomAlexander1 lol!

  • One of my favorites.

  • 3:40 onwards is like a rollercoaster ride across space..seriously. i heard this 1st when i was 5 years old and it still give that same effect. BRILLIANT!

  • tried to do this on guitar hero holy shit its hard

  • class is not water...

  • Bellissima canzone..quanti ricordi, quante battaglie..Trentino 72

    Ciao

  • Santana-"BlackMagicWoman/GypsyQueen"

  • if the song had more voice and less guitar, it was better....

Too much guitar can make a song boring...my opinion :)

  • Comment removed

  • @MotCatalin Gypsy Queen is an instrumental not original to Santana. There are plenty who only recognize excitement in a song with lyrics or singing, and many fall short of the power of music with strictly tone. Those who can evoke much emotion with just sound and no words or voice are true masters of what music has to offer.

Gabor Szabo conmposed Gypsy Queen without words, and Santana loved the sound. Boring it may be to you, not at all is it to many others. My opinion.

  • @MotCatalin You should pay attention to the bass line, it's one of the smoothest lines I've ever heard

  • This was the san francisco mission use to pay song like in the street

  • black magic can be pretty evil, i advise anyone of you not to go messing or looking for it.

  • @silas091

    i tried :(

  • @ 3:30 til end........ my favorite part of the song.Love to have it on an mp3 while cutting up the moguls on the slopes.

  • I've seen them live twice - this is the first song I danced to back in the early 70's - I was barely a teenager and the music just took me higher than the stars :))

  • Starting at 1:43 is the best part ever

  • I killed this song on guitar hero and I'm only a girl haha

  • This was my first LP Santana!

Take a look at my video production. You will find all kinds of interesting between heaven and earth! You will not be disappointed!

  • 3 idiots, all teabaggers.

  • @fatheroflatus your the tea bag

  • @1alligatoral hes talking about how 3 people disliked this you dumbass, and its 4 now btw

  • @1alligatoral Great comeback.

  • 3:36 = one of the most epic outros of ALL TIME!

  • santana kicks ass!!

  • Wow, can you say detailed cd-cover! All of the pioneer rockbands back in the late 60's-70's tried to stuff as much in a shot as possible! Must be the acid..

  • I grew up with Santana with my parents when I was like 4 in 82. I love him!!

  • este tema es como un orgasmo ,empieza calido despacio y despues acaba de una forma explosiva y psicodelica.

  • havn't heard this for sometime. still sounds great . remember when this album came out had to get it
