@shotgunpi thats what the little calcium droplets are for! If you ask your doctor for them they are bottles with liquid calcium (something like that) that you just dropper on the babies tongue to prevent rotting teeth in the future

We have a noise maker for Ellie..she loves the noises..

And swaddling makes it to where she can't move so its like a straight jacket :\

We have one of those (Graco Angelcare Monitor). It is a movement sensor that's sensitive enough to count breathing as movement. It was expensive ($100) but it was worth the money not having to worry if our baby stops breathing at night. I highly recommend getting one!

@kdmq You don't have to be scared. You can prevent that by Swaddling your newborn because it makes it more comfortable for a new baby to sleep on his or her back.

Letting a baby cry to sleep isn't the right way, but getting an older baby to cry for 15 mins or so before coming in and trying to soothe them again isn't bad. It builds trust when you come back in, and they'll realize that mom/dad isn't far.
