@firecoroner Chris Morris is a genius, I've followed his career from 'The Day Today'. He's a great mimic, but I'd swear this is Frank Black singing. I was lucky enough to see the Pixies 20 years ago at an intimate venue in Manchester, before they got so famous. Morris is so subversive and respected that I think he could;ve copped the coup of the decade and got Black Francis (as he was) to actually sing on the song. It's actually worthy of a Pixies album.
Perhaps he did, the likeness is uncanny. The only reason I thought it was morris' vocals is that it was discussed in an article in Select Magazine, where this record came from. I think... it was a while ago.
Anyway, I sometimes forget how good the pixies are. I still remember hearing holiday song for the first time and thinking, "I NEED to absorb all of this bands music"
Even a piss take of the Pixies gets me excited. Possible parody fail Until: 'so I shot her, and as the blood spilled from her vest she said 'son there'll be no more incest'. hoho!
This was part of a free flexi disc record that was given away with music magazine "Select" in the UK in the early 90s. The rest of the disc was equally genius, of course.
There was a parody of Radio 1 DJ Steve Wright called "Wayne Carr in the afternoon" as well as a prank phone call to the then Sun newpaper entertainment editor, Piers Morgan, where Chris pretended to be Bono and convinced Piers of all kinds of upcoming U2 events...all of which were published by the Sun the following day.

One of the best parodies ever! Sounds so genuine that it wouldn't sound out of place on the Surfer Rosa LP!! I wonder if that is Chris Morris doing vocals?!

The flexi also had a Piers Morgan wind-up involving a U2 exclusive as well as a poke at Steve Wright, a man less-important than a spunk-filled fishcake.
This is absolutely spot on, every time I listen I wonder whether it is them :P I really think pixies should play this, it would be awesome...gummed my weapon is brilliant...the guitar bit at 1:03 is my favourite bit...along with "wanna stick my spear in a stingray's ear".
the only time he messed up in the song is when he sang in a low voice "son they'll be no more inscest" at (2:10) frank black francis NEVER sings in a low voice. he might have fooled more people if he sang that part higher(although his intention wasnt to fool people, just to parody one his favorite bands)
He was spotted at a Frank Black and the Catholics show some time ago, so he's a fan.
whoever played the joey santiago parts of the song was brilliant !

Genius parody in a very loving way. I think someone would have to know the pixies music quite well to pull of a parody this precise.
