  • "lets get hispanic!"

  • It's a loving parody. Morris is a massive Pixies fan and it shows. Plus, he told me. #namedrop

  • Is there anything Chris Morris can't do???

  • when will Jack Black's cover of this come out?

  • This is actually better than Bam Thwok.

  • @seagreenyweeny haha - very true

  • Genius parody in a very loving way. I think someone would have to know the pixies music quite well to pull of a parody this precise.

  • I love the little Joey Santiago bits.

  • Who's doing the vocal? The likeness to Frank Black is uncanny. So well done.

  • @aerialkate

Chris Morris is doing vocals and all instrumentation.

  • @firecoroner Chris Morris is a genius, I've followed his career from 'The Day Today'. He's a great mimic, but I'd swear this is Frank Black singing. I was lucky enough to see the Pixies 20 years ago at an intimate venue in Manchester, before they got so famous. Morris is so subversive and respected that I think he could;ve copped the coup of the decade and got Black Francis (as he was) to actually sing on the song. It's actually worthy of a Pixies album.

  • @aerialkate

Perhaps he did, the likeness is uncanny. The only reason I thought it was morris' vocals is that it was discussed in an article in Select Magazine, where this record came from. I think... it was a while ago.

Anyway, I sometimes forget how good the pixies are. I still remember hearing holiday song for the first time and thinking, "I NEED to absorb all of this bands music"

  • Even a piss take of the Pixies gets me excited. Possible parody fail Until: 'so I shot her, and as the blood spilled from her vest she said 'son there'll be no more incest'. hoho!

  • Chris Morris rules

  • This was part of a free flexi disc record that was given away with music magazine "Select" in the UK in the early 90s. The rest of the disc was equally genius, of course.

There was a parody of Radio 1 DJ Steve Wright called "Wayne Carr in the afternoon" as well as a prank phone call to the then Sun newpaper entertainment editor, Piers Morgan, where Chris pretended to be Bono and convinced Piers of all kinds of upcoming U2 events.....all of which were published by the Sun the following day.

  • This song is so great i wish it were not a parody

  • let's get Hispanic

  • FAKE

  • @enigma19833

Hence the word 'parody' in the title.

  • @lostit2bostik FAAAKE!

  • holy shit , i had this on the original , am a massive Pixies fan love this, never thought id hear it again :-D

  • @TheWowmart you sure about that ?

  • @olliemad meant i had the original flexi disc, free with nme or melody maker, not sure which was long ago lol

  • The flexi also had a Piers Morgan wind-up involving a U2 exclusive as well as a poke at Steve Wright, a man less-important than a spunk-filled fishcake.

  • foooking love this!!!!

  • also, i forgot to say: lol

  • very well done

  • Hahah this is actually good.

  • "my mother gummed my weapon"

    brilliant.

  • Your pantaloon is undone, I can see you're well hung.

  • Thank you for this. This'd be a great Pixies b-side.

    His Fur-Q is good too!

  • where is the rest of this flexi? Please can somebody put the rest up cos its fuckin hilarious

  • "ah ha ha, me espanol es muy porro!"

he took all the pixies subjects (aliens, UFO's, incest, bibles etc.) and put them into one epic song!

  • legend, classic

  • This was on a free flexi disc that came with Select magazine in 92. It's still brilliant.

  • Why have I only seen this now? This is fucking brilliant!!

  • I heart Chris Morris

  • genuis absolute genuis nearly 20 years ago :) :)

  • Nirvana made a career out of doing this.

  • Absolutely fantastic. "me espanol is muy poora..." "don't wanna cause friction, but where's your diction"

I love the Pixies, and this is spot on.

  • This is absolutely spot on, every time I listen I wonder whether it is them :P I really think pixies should play this, it would be awesome...gummed my weapon is brilliant...the guitar bit at 1:03 is my favourite bit...along with "wanna stick my spear in a stingray's ear".

  • ... my mother gummmed my weapon ...

    LOOL

  • It still doesn't go as far as Black ever did...

'We will have our sons, they will be all well hung.'

  • Fucking quality!!!!

  • ...all over my knee!!

  • classic

  • This is an absolute tune. Let's get Hispanic.

  • morris is fond of this kind of music parody - it ain't the real ting son!

  • Uh, no.

  • chis morris is genius...

the only time he messed up in the song is when he sang in a low voice "son they'll be no more inscest" at (2:10) frank black francis NEVER sings in a low voice. he might have fooled more people if he sang that part higher(although his intention wasnt to fool people, just to parody one his favorite bands)

He was spotted at a Frank Black and the Catholics show some time ago, so he's a fan.

whoever played the joey santiago parts of the song was brilliant !

  • well i always assumed it was the pixies.

they should start playing it. its awesome.

  • "frank black francis NEVER sings in a low " yes, but Dave Lovering did.

  • oh lawd its like a parody of all there songs in one
