I am very well educated on the risk factors of SIDS, such as the ones you listed, but even parents that make sure their baby sleeps on his/her back with no pillows, blankets, etc. have lost their babies to SIDS. I can assure you that SIDS cannot be prevented. I would be more than happy to send you information so you can educate yourself.

I have an auntie who passed at 5 months old from a hole in the heart and a 10 day old uncle Iam from holes in the heart. Thanking God Lilike made it she was born sick with some breathing issues and suspected of having sepsis, thankful that we both made it through a rough pregnancy thanking God he ensured my last 2 babies were healthy and gave me a baby after a miscarriage

I also lost my niece to sudic sudden unexplained death in childhood she was 2 years old you never think that this could happen to children only babies until i researced it and its crazy how many children are out there that died in there sleep its scary. always rember her and love her in spirit for she is still there with you

my daughter an my self were diagnosed with sleep apnier,i lost a baby ot meningitus at 10 weeks old aswell, i now have a 14 month old son an i wound advise a sensor mat to every one, i payed £45.99 for mine from argos! its a little mat that goes under the mattress,an sounds an alarm if there is no movement for 20 sec's,trust me u cant replace ur child at any cost an its like havin a nanny that watch's them as u sleep,i would have been a nervious wreck without mine! my heart goes out 2 all loss's

im so sorry for the loss of your baby i can only emagine the pain, sad to say i can relate to this pain becuase i also lost my baby boy to SIDS at 3 months old theres no answer to why these angels are taken away from us at such an early age, i know one thing for sure The Lord promised me that there is nothing i can do to bring him back BUT ONE DAY I SHALL GO TO HIM, instead of being mad wich i was,give the pain to him untill that day you will see your babe again in glory.

Your daughter was beautiful! We lost our son a little over a year ago to SIDS. That video is beautiful! It made me cry but they were almost happy tears because it reminded me where my baby is right now :)

As with autism there is a very big possibility that the immunizations that are full of thermerisol which is a preservative are related to sids.Many babys get autism after third round of shots when they were healthy until that moment!
An infant's immune system is too underdeveloped to handle the cocktail of chemicals it recieves. Many countries do not even vaccinate until child is at least one year!

Im almost due in august and very worried cause I don't want to have to feel this pain too.They did some extensive research on sids in New Zealand and claim it to be causes of fatal gases made in baby and adult matresses.Theyre country used to have the most death rates but have dramatically gone down by using a non lethal plastic bed cover to keep those fatal gases from reaching the babies respiratory system.So i'm going to cover mines real soon everyone with babies should too! spread the word!

The theory you speak of was never proven or disproven. SIDS has been
shown to occur even if conditions where such matresses were absent. The
theory also doesn't propose any mechanism for SIDS.
However, other research has shown that a lack of a certain
subtype of 5-HT receptors in some areas of the brain is associated
with SIDS, and this theory is consistent with the fact that maternal drug
abuse is a risk factor for SIDS as such abuse results in low counts of these
receptors in the neonate.

It gets easier as time passes, i had a daughter who died aged 3 years one minute she was happily running around in the garden in the summer, next i heard a car slam on its breaks, she had got out the back garden gate and ran into the road,she was killed instantly.. 28 years ago it happened, we never had anymore children. i should have a grown up daughter now and maby grandchildren, but i have not. i live on my own now. i hope you can rebuild your life and have more children.

U donteven know how i feel now.I also have a sister which is 8 days old. she will have an operation soon which will save her I realy wish!! The only thing which makes me cry that my mother is such a nice person,and she ectualy saved many livs even though shes just a nurse,and now this was her last baby. After all i start asking my self why da FAK she deserved THAT,If my little sister will survive I will love her so much no one will take her from me.And im very sorry for ur loss i know how u feel

I have a little sister, her name is Autumn...I am so afraid for her, there are so many things that can happen to babies! We need to find a cure for SIDS. Your baby was so beautiful, and I just don't understand why she had to go up to heaven. My older sister died when she was a baby, and i bet your baby and my sister have met, and maybe my sis can take care of your baby up there, in heaven.

I'm so sorry you had to experience this. My son is now seven months old and every night since he was born I lay him down and pray he wakes up in the morning. It's such a scary thing, not knowing what causes it and knowing there's no reason, nothing you can do to prevent it.
