It's amazing what a delicate balance it has to be in so it doesn't flameout. I have a P80 JetCat and I never realized how much the ECU is regulating everything so my jet doesn't crash.
It looks like your combustion chamber leaks at low RPM. Not sure what's happening, but at high revs it sounds very smooth!
Also, why aren't you using the starter motor on the front to dial in the self-start feature built into this turbine?
It was easier to use just air so I could control the rpms up and down a bit..
Im using a pulse width modulator instead of an ecu.. it sends a dc pulse to the pump motor .. the frequency is set way too high for the pulse as it is designed to control a hydrogen cell.. but seems to work great .. We have a new microproccessor controller for our pwm unit ... i can maintain specific speeds with it with no stalling ..
@moogoo71 in the video, it said the fuel was rich and rich means low in oxygen so therir wasn't enough air to burn the fuel and the leftover is burning behind the turbine, so if the rpm is high, the compressor will take in enough air to burn the fuel cleanly. to solve the low rpm making flameouts, the maker must make a better turbine that spins faster to make the compressor spin faster at a lower injection rate.
Yeah matt7048 .. if you read the very front page of the video it states that we are running it rich for extra lubrication..
A new engine has extremely tight tollerances down to 10 thousandths of an inch. the only lubrication to this engine is from the fuel being passed through it. So on break it excessive fuel is passed through it to help protect the moving parts which can exceed 125,000 RPM's
The fully ceramic bearings alone are $400.00 in this engine.
run HHO/Kerosene into it and use the thrust to power another turbine that turns a Generator. now that would be impressive.. 30kW generator powered by a micro gas turbine.

Makes a pretty good flame thrower, how does it do cooking hot dogs and marshmallows?

7:34 is that a classical flame-out?

if that thing blew up i'd actually laugh cuz no matter how intense the flame gets u keep feedin it :L

you're blowing compressed air through the turbine. What happens if you blow HHO through instead?

Run petro engine indoors? Don't try this in your home.

thats cool

its pretty simple.. go to any junk yard and get a washer fluid 12V pump.. use our pwm to control the pump speed. both will work on a 9V battery.

Interested to learn more about the washer bottle pump, could be a cheap way of making a smoke system

what does running it rich accomplish other than flames out of the tailpipe?

now I see what they've been doing for the past month when I was waiting for my HHO gen. LOL! have you tried running HHO into it yet?

It definitely sounds like a jet engine!
