I'm no seat belt professional, but with my experience repairing vehicles (seat belt installations included) yes it is possible. If there is enough force to move a vehicle, there is enough to tear a faulty seat belt strap in two.

It is very much so possible for a seatbelt to snap. Think about it, seatbelts MAY be strong, but an EF5 tornados winds/force is MUCH MUCH stronger than that of a seatbelt. His Dad was trying to hold onto him, but you try to hold onto &fight for something with something that has winds of 200mph or more. I'm sorry, but it just doesn't happen. Sucked out of the hummer? Why yes, because Will's Hummer had a sun roof, it was open, therefore, yes, sucked out of a Hummer. I'm just sayin'.

I live in Kansas about 150 miles north of Joplin MO and we just had like 3 tornado's touch down the other day in-town.

It's very natural. I think you care for two reasons.

1) we are all part of "the community that is youtube", which makes it different from a completely random person, and

2) he wasn't an asshole to you/to your knowledge, which could've made you say "sucks for him, but whatever" instead.

We order ourselves into groups, even subconciously, really easily. It's the root of a lot of good ("he's part of my group") and also evil ("he's in an "enemy" group").

You're right, it's human nature.

I heard on the news that he was sucked out of the sun roof of the hummer on his way back from graduation. It is indeed tragic, because what life gives you after high school is supposed to be your future.

About a month ago, I heard that a girl I went to school with had died in a apartment fire in Paris with 4 other exchange students. Even though we weren't close, it still hurt, and I felt miserable over the loss of her life. So I think I understand where you are coming from.

I hope they find them. I live just 2 hours away from Joplin and have many friends that live there.It's an absolute mess. A LOT of people are missing..even babies and kids.Could you imagine standing where your house use to be...watching the cadaver dogs search for your baby?
