Is there anyway I can add another language to my diamond editon? I bought the blueray here in portugal and it comes in english and portuguese, but my vhs tape was in french and I really wish I could see it again like that...
The 3D Edition is a lot better. I went and saw it in Cinemas last week and I recently order the 3D BLU-RAY off from Amazon. I don't see it in stores. This is definetely a Blu-Ray must-have.
@alexfan2valdeniz I'd have to agree that the 3D version is closer to the original, and I like how the colours are much brighter and the scenes more crisp. The Diamond has a pinkish tint to it, and has slight alterations, such as the bell jar of the rose glowing brightly twice instead of faintly once and then strongly.
Why did they take out the depth of field on the opening shots? And any other shots with an extreme foreground element? That was a beautiful effect.
.....Actually never mind, thinking it over it makes perfect sense to remove all the blur on the foreground objects if they need to be put into stereoscopic 3D. Easier that way. What a shame. That little detail really added a lot.
@chrisherself well the loss of depth in field, and other changes minus colors is only meant for 3D viewing, not very ideal for 2D viewing. Anyway I just got back from watching this in theatres and am sad that this will probably the first and last time I'll watch with Belle's hair being dark brown from beginning to end. The 3D was surprisingly well done as well, even better than Lion King.
Disney obviously realised they screwed up the original Blu-ray release and decided to take the film back to its original colour palette.
Either that, or this is another one of their attempts at encouraging customers to purchase the most expensive product and claim that it looks better because some "awesome technology" marketing B.S.
@miniroll32 It's probably both. Right now I feel ripped and compelled to buy the 3d blu-ray just for this, though I don't have a 3D setup and it won't work with my Ps3 (it even says so when putting a Disney 3D blu-ray in). I'm going to make a petition soon for a blu-ray disc replacement for this movie and The Lion King (they've done it with Pinnochio). In the mean time, write and let Don Hahn know (facebook dot com / OfficialDonHahn ).
Hey @alexfan2valdeniz do you know if the 2D blu-ray off this combo pack have the new colors/blur effects? Or is it the exact same 2D copy as last years?
@Joshorty Hi, the 2D blu-ray from the combo is the same as the diamond edition. It's only the 3D blu-ray which has the new colors but you can read it with a 2D blu-ray player (you will see the 3D version like in my video) ;)
@alexfan2valdeniz thanks for telling me. that's really sad :( Because I have a Christmas Carol 3D blu-ray and it won't work on my ps3. it'd say something like "You need a proper 3D set up in order to view this content". That's why i'm assuming it won't work anyway with the 3D bluray of Beauty.
@alexfan2valdeniz maybe if after tomorrow's release in the US, enough people greatly approve the 3D colors better than the Diamond Edition ones, Disney could decide to re-release the film on home video and make the 3D bluray colors available on the 2D bluray discs as well. is there any chance that might happen?
This is incredible! Both releases are separated by 1 year, and look what huge differences you can find! Especially in the color department! I'm definetely picking the 3D version, even though I own last year's release. :)

Damn the colors do look better on the 3D version. This makes me sad for having bought the pack from last year.

I had no idea they changed it. Thank you! I still prefer the diamond edition

@DisneyClassicsFan I just have one question: is this the same in the case of The Lion King?
