Like bashjamaa said - EABL is a foreign company. So good ol' Tusker is not my beer my country - Its more thier Beer your country. Mr. Jeremiah G. Kiereini is just another home guard manning his masters post. He has done this throughout his life. He (Jeremiah) is on record for torturing fellow kenyans("mau mau") during the you know what.
dont be too quick to generalise. There are many people who are able to enjoy their drink without problems. Others especially 18-21 year olds however abuse the same, and this is the group that should be the focus through restriction of sale of alcohol.
exactly. i believe if you are to indulge in some stats you will find that generally that's true. i know many people over that age bracket who drink like crazy & unajua "illegal" brew plays a big role especially in the "lower class" citizens who btw make up majority of the population.
I gave her props for being able to start and run the company.
I am disappointed that a significant number of kenyans see no good when someone does something great...they always greet it with contempt and/or scepticism.
Lets support our people...the more the jobs the less reason people have to turn to crime and illegal activities.
the law is clear on issues such as dangerous driving. Its simple, if you drink dont drive. Beer is supposed to be enjoyed not abused. As I said if you cannot handle alcohol let others who can do so. My friend even from a Christian perspective its not a sin to partake alcohol, its drunkeness, in other words abuse that is a concern.
u r only saying that because in the clip it was shown them toasting a beer...now that she is speaking on behalf of a Kenyan beer company your envy creeps in. .We should support our own firms and not those foreign companies. Tuskers, pilsners, guiness etc are all foreign brands.
she is obviously talking a lot of business sense..big brewing companies would be charged 10% of their earnings for unfair trade practices in Kenya as is the practice worldwide. If you cannot get the context of her argument there is no need of commenting trash.
Kenyans pretend to love soccer but they like going to the bars...........LOL.Anyways!Guys let promote our own,buy kenyan.Till when should we african depend on international aids from rich countries. We can do this.Lets do it!!
Why do you always excel in unproductive and socially negative things? See the only factory doing well in Eldoret is the Bullet Factory and Naivasha here is contributing more alcohol to a stressed out society. Could this be reason why irrational
Siasa, as much as I support a local based company, I am worried that alcohol and bullets are the only things that function in Kenya. see on weekends all young people do is drink themselves silly and if not they are busy robbing each other at gun point. I would be happy if someone did something more constructive but then even a marathon in mathira last weekend had to be stopped by police. we are fucked up country.
@Karuitha, firms like Kerocha help in the creation of jobs. If you were awarded a job there earning a good salary you would not making such lopsided observations. Of course drinking too much is a problem many societies have to face. The solution always lies in regulating consumption e.g. age, drinking times, licensing outlets, quality control and others. Done responsibly, drinking can be a really good pass time.
Every region in Kenya should have its own beer(based on its tradition recipes, killed by colonialists) take a leaf from Germany, it will create jobs and promote local culture

why do you demonise alcohol? Not everyone should drink..but let those who can do so responsibly be. I think Kenyans tend to be too naive at times.
