and thats because you and your friends aren't close to tournament level players. Something like this is rare in a melee match tournament, its usually fast paced and aggressive, cuz melee's physics allow you to be a bit more aggressive like that, its probably the most effective way to play in melee. Brawl on the other hand, with its campier, slower nature, lousy physics that make real combos impossible, etc, the "best" and "safest" option is to camp and time people out like in here.

This stall can only be done on with this specific matchup on this specific stage and obviously RockCrock wasn't aware of it. I mean, really, Ganon and Peach mains are already a minority, and DK64 isn't a popular stage, so this doesn't happen often. Falcon doesn't match up to the level of the others and Jiggs is severely underrated. That makes 6.

Smash 64 has 12 viable characters out of 12. We should all play that. It's a lot more fun to watch than this. It doesn't have air planking bs. You actually have to be good to play it.

You have to be good to play melee too. In fact, you have to be better than 64 because the combos aren't automatic and there are more character specific ATs.

They don't play similar at all. It's not slow at all, L/Z cancelling removes all the frames of lag and SSB64 is a lot more mobile in the air. Combos aren't always automatic. It still requires reading your opponent too.

Have you tried using samus up-B, or heck, even wathed a vid. It's slow. Z-cancel is fast, but the hitlag and hitstun are unbearable. It takes forever to be sent flying once you are hit.

And combos are automatic. don't kid yourself. The DI in that game is minimal at best.

The characters are all much floatier in ss64. That's slow too.

Ok, Samus has a slow move. So does Ganondorf in Melee, ever tried that "QUICK" up tilt or that Warlock Punch.

Hitlag and hitstun are unbearable. Try comboing in the game. The game isn't designed to have 1 move to send an opponent incredibly far as everyone has combos as well as sheik.

Im guessing you only think smash 64 is slow due to Samus. Of course Samus is slow in that game. She plays like barlw with virtually 0 combos but escapes combos much easier.

Sigh... this is a result of combination of the stage AND character choice.

Kongo Jungle's platform is so high, Ganondorf can't reach them with only his 2 jumps.

He can get up there, but he can't do so without leaving himself wide open to whatever Peach wants to do.

Meanwhile, Peach can exploit this to float and escape when she needs to.

I saw several wasted opportunities for Ganondorf to hit her.

Pink Shinobi is the better player in this situation.
