That simply isn't true. Female genital circumcision is African in origin- (tribal areas of Ethiopia, Mauritania, Kenya, etc. through to Sub-Saharan Africa). It is not as you seem to be implying Middle Eastern, NOT religiously based (among any Muslim, Christian, Bahai'ist, Druze, etc. religions in the region).
