  • FUCK YES! Big Science!

  • what is it good for? horror movies?

  • Another finely attenuated INTONARUMORON pick.

    /intonarumorondotwordpressdotcom/

  • I know many forged or cast wheels off of cars make distinct long sustained chimes when struck. It would be cool to see something that used that to make music, maybe a large installation sculpture?

  • This looks like it might hel in locating.making the piezo pickups:

    h tt p://fittell.id.au/piezo/

Looks like it'll cost you less than a fiver to make a very good quality pickup.

  • is there a litle plan for this pickups?

  • this guy needs to join forces with mysteryguitarman.

  • Pure genius !!!

  • What kind of pickup is that? What brand? Where can I find one? and how do I make a pickup jack? I'm trying to turn this metal vw beetle toy into an instrument. It has great vibrations with psychedelic sounds and you've inspired me to turn it into an instrument, but I don't know how to install a pickup. So anyone who is reading this and has helpful answers, please reply?

  • This guy is awesome.

  • there's a band in Sweden called Detektifbyran. They use instruments like there to make music. for those who find this kind of music interesting you should check the band.

  • that looks fun!

  • I admire this guy! DIY lives!!

  • Mr. Kaiser has at least one released CD, "Analog" on Innova label...

    Woonderful video... :)

    Appreciations galore...

  • This is a wonderful look into Tim Kaiser's world. Thank you so much for sharing! Really inspirational.

  • Chrimson King is so much better.

  • It's a piezo pickup and consists of a crystal which generates an electric field when pressure (stress) is applied.

  • how do you call that thing on 3:10 ?

    cant find anything about it

    great stuff, keep on going!

  • thats just about the coolest thing ive seen in a long time!

  • such a source of inspiration! thank you.

  • yes he did

  • Comment removed

  • I WANT THAT JOB!

  • he should be scoring films with that talent!

  • reminded me of raymond scott -for more experimental music please check out headhit light works

  • Wow, that was great! Are there any videos for making effects pedals? Distortion, delay, chorus... etc.

  • I love it! Soundz!

  • reminds me of pink floyd

  • I agree, imagine if they made Ummagumma with that lot!!

  • This was great, I'm jealous of that man's day job!

Built a percussion rack of metal conduit & tin cans, all recycled from a demolition.

    Keep on Tim!!

  • lol, i thought iwas watching tv

  • wow fucking amazing man... genius.

Ambient music is also fucking amazing. Much props to this musical maestro and his passion for the genre. Much respect.

  • this man is fucking good..awesome

  • i found this pretty creepy, not insulting him or anyone, i just got a weird eerie workshop kinda feeling, and the sounds were like something you would find in a broken down warehouse.

  • this man is the best !

  • He discovered something new ?

  • I guess he must be the only guy who prays for an Earthquake so he can plug his shaking house into an amp.

  • lol sweet duluth

  • awesome im now inspired

  • its cool but he needs to get laid

  • Fuck, this is gonna be me in 30 years!!!

  • MOAR!!!!!!!

  • that's more like noice than music

  • its not a cookie tin its for baking bread...

  • 1960's tech LOL

  • Wow! This guy and his instruments are totally coolsome!

  • Amazing

  • As a scientist musician artist, I think your ARE one lucky SOB! Fantastic!

  • Amazing.

  • That spring bass thing looks awsome!

P.S. Where can u get pick ups like that?

    Great vid. 5/5!

  • The pick-up he used in the clock parts unit is a Piezo Transducer/Piezo buzzer. You can get them out of 99% of the little cheap toys that make beeps. Electronic pet toys (tamagochi rip-offs) are a great source because they're so cheap. You buy the toy for $0.50 - $1.00 and rip that out and you have something that would cost $5 at RadioShack.

  • or go to digikey and I'm sure they are a dime a dozen

  • cool he could make a recording that sounded like alien contact and give it to nasa lol

  • what i liek about this vid is that if you have any junk around and it makes some sort of sound then you can do wat this guy is doin so then your not chucking out the stuff and making good use out of it

  • poor teddybear

  • I agree

  • This is so cool! The best I've made was a whamola! 5STARS!

  • So cool.

  • dude i bet after this u are going to get a bunch of calls and stuff from video game designers and movie makers for freekin amazing sound affects.

    awesome job man.

  • I saw a thumbnail of a bald man and I thought it was KipKay, but its not :(

  • Eh. . .three stars. A little cooler and more intent than circuit bending, but nothing really exceptional. It would take a serious composer to take his stuff and actually make 'music' out of them, rather than just a cacophony of assorted and random sounds. But any composer who could do that could also make music out of bird asses and rocks.

Still, it would be cool to have some of this stuff, show it off to a visiting girl, get laid.

  • Trent Reznor would use a lot of this guys stuff(if he hasnt already) so would Maynard from TOOL. Musical genius this guy is.

  • He could really make the soundtrack of a horr0r game.

  • at 2:25 i like that opel emblim. my mom had a 1970 opel wagon with the same one on it.

  • interesting research, but theres nothing of music on it... just sounds.

  • i bet he does alot of the sound effects for movies

  • Very strange....

  • 4:44 ish I swear you should make horror film music

  • It's interesting, the way some people can think about things. I see a cookie tin, someone else sees a musical instrument or a child's toy.

  • 6:30 looks like a scene from toy story

  • I can't really understand the appeal of this music. Not to say that there isn't any I, however in my ignorance simply can't understand or appreciate it. It to me seems lacking in coordination.

  • wow, you could make a lot of psychedelic rock with this.

    yay King Crimson

  • 23rd comment!

  • thats just cool!

  • this was very awesome. thanks a lot!

(nice to see a partch sighting too!)

  • Cool....i want that job!

  • really inspired by this clip

  • Why can't I watch the video keeps saying it's no longer available.....

  • Just have to keep hitting F5 and reload the page until it complies.

  • another undiscovered genius, thx make magazine

  • 5/5 stars, that would be an amazing job!!! wouldnt pay well but i would not mind

  • wtf make..... i NEED HD

  • That, is cool, that guy has some cool, instruments

  • That ending looks like it's where the Blue Man Group got its start :-P

  • this guy has one of the coolest jobs in the world. he does sth. that makes fun and is totally free, i`m jellous

  • wow

  • so baked

  • That was sa-weet. I am going to salvation army and getting some noise makers and try this at home this weekend.

  • Finally a video worth watching!

  • 5th comment

  • cool stuff, but no high or HD quality (no better audio)((((

  • you cant get HQ vid+ audio quality because it takes a time until yt offers the HD button.. just wait until tomorrow and then check again

  • cool stuff!! 5/5
